Clos Maggiore is an oasis of calm in the heart of Covent Garden. Influenced by the stylish country inns of Provence and Tuscany its unique interiors create a warmth and intimacy enjoyed by both business and private parties. The conservatory has a fully retractable glass roof creating a bright and airy dining space, particularly lovely during the Spring and Summer seasons. It is transformed at night by candles, starlight and a crackling fire during the Winter months. Head Chef Marcellin Marc cooks sublime Provençal inspired cuisine with contemporary panache. Marcellin is committed to using locally sourced seasonal ingredients to create perfectly balanced menus which were awarded three AA-rosettes since 2008. Our extensive cellar at Clos Maggiore includes over 2,000 labels and was extended earlier this year to include an additional 400 wines at a low – mid price range. We are very proud to have been awarded the “Best of Award of Excellence” consistently since 2003 by Wine Spectator.

Delicious food and prepared quickly! Really nice servers, very friendly! Would love to go back! Only difficulty I had was with the temperature being to warm/not much air circulation.

Very nice romantic restaurant with very good food. Beautiful decoration and the food was brought timely but without rushing you.
The initial waiting area before sitting was too small and not enough seating. We were waiting over 10 mins to be sat and we did not get offer a drink or a drinks menu.
In our opinion, the tables were a bit too close together invading each other’s privacy.
We enjoyed the meal and the ambience and they were friendly without intruding your privacy.
I would go back as it was a very romantic restaurant with good good but it was a shame we could not be accommodated in the blossom room as it looked beautiful.

Overall our experience on Sunday 15th July was average. It was nothing spectacular and very over rated. At a cost of over £100 per head, there is much better value out there.

We were seated just outside the conservatory, inside the conservatory it looked very romantic but outside was just disappointing. Therefore if you do book make sure you request a conservatory table, however be prepared to wait anywhere between 4 months to 1 year.

Postives: Extensive wine list and a very knowledgable sommelier.
Desserts amazing, could not fault it.

Negatives: If you are not sat in the conservatory, it is not worth going.
The food is average at most, my partners crab starter had multiple fragments of shell which she almost broke her tooth on. Not even offered an apology. My short rib beef main was just overpoweringly salty.
Service not great, table was not cleaned between courses, drinks not taken away and only asked how our meal was once we had finished.

Charming restaurant, the conservatory is really a plus for the atmosphere. Food also impeccable! Great selection of wines! Service as should be from a restaurant of this caliper. Really recommended for dates, anniversaries and special occasions.

My girlfriend and I both had the Tasting Menu, one normal and one veggie with wine pairing. I would recommend anyone to get the wine pairing!
First of all, great nice platings having Foie Gras to black truffle pasta and so on...
As dessert we could add a cheese platter for the very reasonable price of 9£ with a wide variety of cheeses to pick from.

Plus (+) :
1. Very romantic setting, especially the rear flower room (conservatory)
2. Magnificient winelist and a great sommelier !
3. Very friendly service

Drawbacks (-):
1: Quite expensive, but again London is expensive
2. To have a place in the flower room you need to reserve a table well in advance

Brilliant service. So attentive and great menu. Planning to come back in December but wanting to sit in the conservatory as that’s where we originally thought we’d be sat. Little bit of a shame but lovely nonetheless.

A fantastic experience. Easy to book. Very attentive and fast service from friendly staff. They made our birthday celebration really special, with some nice touches e.g. dessert. Without any hassle or prompting they upgraded us to a table in their wonderful conservatory. A pleasant surprise. Food was amazing. Will definitely come back!

I've visited Clos Maggiore with my husband a number of times; this is our favourite restaurant. We try to go at least twice a year now for our wedding anniversary and birthdays but have started to visit more often from this year because of the wonderful seasonal variation to their menu. The service is always brilliant, quick but you never feel rushed and it is always attentive. Everyone you have any contact with, even just to walk past them is friendly, warm and welcoming. The food is exquisite and the dessert range means I always struggle to decide which one to choose. The wine/drinks list is extensive and their Somelier is always on hand to help non wine connoisseurs to choose.

It is a romantic venue but would also work well for a larger goup event such as a birthday. Our next visit will be exactly that, a larger group to celebrate a birthday.

It is not cheap but the price matches the quality and is worth the money. Our last visit was for lunch and the set price for a three course meal was definitely appropriate. Where they make money is from the drinks and any other add ons so be mindful of that if you're on a budget.

Love this restaurant.

Had a wonderful time here. Sat in the conservatory and it was beautiful. Fantastic service. Lovely food. Wouldn’t hesitate to come again!

Only 3 small comments - the conservatory was quite warm - the other seated areas appeared to be more air conditioned.
The music that was playing was a little too loud for myself and my guests who struggle to hear.
Also - it was my birthday, and two other diners were also celebrating their birthday and got a special dish, whereas I didn’t - again, not a deal breaker but would have been nice!

What a great place to celebrate a wedding anniversary. You are greeted by friendly knowledgeable staff then the experience begins. Just so good. Cocktails to start followed by the most wonderful food and wine - the wine list is extensive but you can be guided by your waiter. Just wonderful and we will be back again

It was my wife’s birthday, she was taking her daughter to see Hamilton in the evening so lunch was our opportunity to celebrate. Cocktails were delicious, I chose a negroni de Marseilles which I had never had before and it was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive, ensuring that we knew about the menus. We mixed and matched from the fixed and the a la carte. The rabbit starter was very tasty and the sea bass was excellent. A warm summers day so glasses of wine rather than a bottle enabled us to drink both white and red and not to fall asleep.

We will definitely make this a special occasion restaurant for London trips

8 year wedding anniversary - only reserved a table two days prior to going. On arrival they said if we waited another 15 mins we could get a table in the conservatory which we did. It was a beautiful dining setting, service was a bit slow but excellent food. We didn’t have room for desert but they still made a platter of smaller desserts just to write happy anniversary on the plate! Overall I’d say this was an amazing restaurant and would highly recommend it

A hot summer’s day and my wife’s birthday. Having confirmed the booking and being told that we wouldn’t be sitting in the conservatory (I only booked a week before) we were delighted to be seated in the conservatory upon arrival. The service was without fault, the drinks refreshing and the food of the best I have eaten. The waiting staff were attentive and on hand to provide advice, this was particularly important as we both have dairy and gluten allergies. The staff were knowledgeable and able to inform us which dishes we could order or have adapted. The sommmelier helped us to choose between the varieties of Rosé wine available with great knowledge of their flavours and bouquets. The food was a delight and I hope to return very soon.

A beautiful restaurant in a great location - but the food was very disappointing. Neither top quality ingredients nor truly skilled preparation. We had two different types of fish, and neither was super fresh: one was overcooked. The vegetables were over-salted. The "chocolate sensation" certainly wasn't special enough to justify a surcharge. To be fair, the tiny cones of Armagnac jelly were excellent, as was the focaccio bread, but these were small highpoints amongst a parade of mediocrity.

I booked a table for a pre-theatre meal 3 months in advance and had wanted to eat here for some time. I wanted to treat my partner to a romantic birthday meal so where better to go than the most romantic restaurant in the world. I was very disappointed with the whole experience and was very underwhelming.

Despite me requesting to be seated in the conservatory we were seated just outside in what appeared to be a dark corner. Upon arrival we were asked to wait in the lounge area as we were a little early which is fair enough and we asked for the wine list which appeared to be a huge book of over 40 pages long. Seeing the slight panic on our faces on where to start the waitress advised she would ask the sommelier to come over and suggest some wines to us, 20 minutes went by and no one had come to us and we decided to order.

The starter and main course was very bland and had no seasoning and the portion sizes small with an expensive price tag. The desert was the highlight of the meal and they did a complimentary desert plate for my partners birthday.

Upon paying we were not prepared with pay the discretionary 12% tip as we were not satisfied with the food or service and asked for it to be taken off to which the waiter was very rude questioning why we wouldn’t pay it after explaining the issues he still proceeded to be rude even commenting on it to the nearby waiters.

This restaurant is overrated and very expensive for what you get there are by far much nicer and more romantic places to eat.
