really good value
an oasis of calm in Covent garden
pre-theatre menu really good
My husband and I ate here as a special birthday treat and it did not disappoint!
The venue is beautiful. And despite it being Michelin starred, there is a relaxed atmosphere and a wonderfully helpful team.
The wine list is a little daunting, but the sommelier helped us to narrow down to a scummy bottle of French Malbec which we’d not tried before. We ended up having two!
We were offered a choice of breads, both of which were delicious and freshly baked.
The food is excellent! I had the salmon to start, my husband had the tartare, we both had the sirloin for main. Every dish is perfectly balanced but packed with flavour and beautifully presented. If you have the steak, I highly recommend the truffle mash as a side - I’m still thinking about it!!
Don’t be deceived by seemingly smaller portions - we were absolutely stuffed and couldn’t manage a dessert. However, that wasn’t a problem as they brought out a cake with a candle for my husband’s birthday.
Thank you for the delicious meal and wonderful hospitality! We will definitely be back soon!
Quite simply the best French food in London, if not one of the top restaurants in London.
The service was fabulous, they struck the perfect balance of being informative, attentive and friendly, without being pushy or trying to upsell.
The food came out and we were instantly impressed. The presention and plating was perfect. Each dish had been crafted and considered from positioning to plate choice. Finally the food was delicious, the best seabass I've ever eaten.
Overall it was a wonderful and special evening, made even better by the warm staff. The Sommelier was particularly knowledgeable and charismatic.
P.s. Order the mash potato, the truffle makes it really descendant
Absolutely brilliant, fantastic food, service and we had a great time as well and as we have before WOW
Exquisite food and fantastic service. Will definitely go back
Outstanding service, outstanding food and wine, outstanding ambience. What a fantastic experience and night!
Our third time to Clos Maggiore over the past 3 years and it’s as good as ever save for the menu, which has had a revamp and is now a little less traditional and more ‘style over substance’. The experience is straying into the instagram territory, which is a pity. I do understand the need to modernise and keep pace with the market but CM needs to make sure it doesn’t lose what made is so special before.
Very attentive staff from the moment we arrived. Enormous wine list that the sommelier helped us navigate. The food was sublime as you would expect.
Absolutely outstanding evening, thank you to everyone that made it so wonderful and for seating us in the conservatory as requested.
Fantastic food, staff and beautiful interior. The textures in every meal were amazing and the waiter Luka really made our evening. He was super friendly, knew a lot about the menu and gave us the best advice on what to choose. The German gentleman (Cant remember his name) also had a lot of knowledge on the wine which was super helpful to choose the best one!
It is always a brilliant experience to eat here !! We ave been hee many times and we are only looking forward tocome again !!

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. We were running late due to a transport issue and phone the resturant to explain our situation. They were very understanding and moved our time to suit us. On arrival we were welcomed and taken to our table. The interior of the resturant is beautiful and the ambiance felt incredibly relaxing. The service was great and the food didn’t disappoint. We’d certainly return. Thank you for a lovely experience.
Beautiful and romantic decor and great french food.
Wanting to go do so long and was not disappointed at all. Beautiful restaurant, perfect service, great food.
A very pretty dining room and rather 'intimate'. Greeting and service outstanding.
My companion's mushroom risotto was delicious. My chicken was nice but a bit 'twee'. It was fine for pre-theatre. Lovely puddings. Will certainly go back...it's a place for lovers !
Outstanding food and service in a beautiful setting. One of the best meals I have had in London.
Best restaurant I’ve ever dined in so romantic and food and service was excellent
Not much on dessert menu but main menu was superior and amazing drinks menu
Wonderful! From the moment you arrive the service is amazing, the team really do give that special touch. Such a beautiful restaurant, with such friendly & polite team and of course the food was amazing. Thank you all at Clos Maggiore.
I love this exquisite yet unstuffy restaurant.
The set menu is so special (wish carafe of wine still featured) with food visually inviting that never disappoints.
My favourite place and go to for celebrations.
Beautiful place with delicious menu & attentive staff. Definitely worth a visit!
Me and my partner visited the restaurant for the first time and sat in the conservatory! It was absolutely stunning, the staff were all very welcoming and polite and the food was spectacular! Would 100% recommend to anyone for a fine dining experience.
Magnificent venue, exquisite food and an intimate environment filled with beauty.
Great pre-theatre menu - Sea bass was outstanding
Excellent visit. Very efficient service and the food was amazing
Absolutely first class
the food is great
The bred was dry
The lobster sauce was greasy
Desert wasn't quality at all
The decoration is cheap and everything look like an imitation of star restaurant (incl. the food looking like fake gastronomy from a 90's movie)
It feels like a touristic restaurant for couples looking for cheesy retro date night
Money would have been better spent elsewhere
Fantastic restaurant - made for a perfect evening with family. The venue and the service were brilliant. We will keep returning
Amazing experience. I would definitely come back.
Great location. Facade is pretty, but it's even better when you get inside. Romantic and cosy. Food was outstanding. Hats off to the head chef and the sommelier - both amazing! Staff were super attentive, helpful and friendly.
We went to Clos Maggiore for a special occasion before going to the theatre. We chose from the pre-theatre menu which was very good value. We were lucky to be placed in the Conservatory which had a wonderful ambience. The staff were very friendly and attentive (the Sommelier welcomed us home - cheesy but very effective). The food was absolutely superb, subtle mixtures of flavours and beautifully presented. It certainly did not seem that the chef was cooking from a simplified menu. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody.
Reception not very welcoming, and compromised by a public altercation between staff re table service just after being seated. Both main courses were tepid as though left waiting before being brought to the table. Quality of service throughout was either indifferent or overbearing and the whole experience uncomfortable. Having been very impressed on past visits, this was a considerable disappointment leaving us with little incentive to revisit.
The lunchtime menu has a good range of options and is excellent value . The beef tartare was absolutely delicious as were all the other courses. Clos Maggiore maintains high standards and is always a special treat !
Great pre theatre meal. Service excellent, as was the food.
Had the pre-theatre menu! It must be the best in London for sure!
Dined here for our anniversary, perfect. Food was delicious and very quick to arrive, excellent choice of wines, and I must make a special mention about the service, absolutely fantastic, best service I’ve received at a restaurant, the waiting staff were attentive, very informative and courteous. Overall a definite 5* dining experience
I really recommend Clos Maggiore. My sister and I had a fantastic birthday lunch. The waiters and waitress were very friendly and professional. Food was delicious and the price definitely “cheap” in relation to the location and the overall experience.
Truly lovely restaurant for any special occasion...
Amazing in every way, possibly the best experience I had visiting London this trip.
The restaurant is stunning to look at. But the food menu is limited and the food is not worth what you pay. The starters ,we'll I couldn't eat mine it was raw beef and egg yolk shocking. The wife had a piece of beetroot, The main course for me was suppose to be a beef dinner ,I was asked if I wanted to order extra potatoes or vegetables I ordered carrot. When my meal came I had 5 very small slices of under cooked beef and gravy. Then my carrots came. That was it carrots and undercooked beef. Not exactly a meal. The wife ordered seabass again she thought it came with potatoes and veg of some kind .NOT She had a small piece of fish in sauce. Shocking for £160 we both left starving. If you are very posh and live on nothing it's for you .If you like to eat out for lunch forget it if you like a meal. We both went to China Town and filled up on a Chinese buffet and it was gorgeous for£6 each. JUST NEED TO SAY OUT WAITER WAS AMAZING THANKYOU
