Clyde's at Mark Center
Indoor, Outdoor, Carryout
We know it is no fun to wear a mask while enjoying a night out, but our staff's safety is no laughing matter.
We require all guests to wear a mask while moving about the restaurant, and when speaking to Clyde's employees.
Masks have been a hot topic, with passionate views on all sides. With our team and their families' health at stake, we must err on the side of caution. We hope you will understand and look forward to the day, hopefully soon, when we can all throw our masks in the trash.

I had the Jager schnitzel which was very good my wife had a salmon salad which was very good. The reason why I had to give it an average score it’s because my 94-year-old mother ordered the shrimp cakes. They were so salty they were inedible. Would’ve sent them back but mom didn’t say anything she just didn’t eat them so we took them home. I tried a little bit of one at home and had to throw them out. All else great but threw away $38.
Good food, great ambience and quiet enough to talk to your meal partner (s) without yelling -- even if you're sitting at one of the big round tables. It's my go-to for informal meetings and interviews. The menu is diverse and changes just enough to stay interesting without loosing the long-time favorites. Moreover, Clyde's restaurants know and cater to their "usual" clientele base.
Food was OK, service was good, albeit a little slow. Miss the crab (which is not their fault)
What a fun server. Decent range of choice. The tent remains the place to be. I hope you keep it even when (!) the pandemic is over.
Keep up the good work.
See you soon.
Clyde’s is so reliable and consistently good that it is often overlooked. Fall menu, including jaegerschnitzel and bratwurst is enticing, with entrees and sandwiches that appeal to all. A raw bar, coupled with typically excellent service, make for a pleasant meal with out the hassle of driving/ parking in DC.
Just love this beautiful place!!
Our server was very concerned about talking with staff and regulars at the bar. My husbands fries came out cold and we had to ask another employee for a new order since our waitress never came by to check in after food was dropped off by someone else. Never got a refill on soda that was ordered. The table we were seated at was in a very cold section of the restaurant and we waited quite awhile to be greeted. Food was decent and we love Clyde’s, just not up to our normal experience.
Always great food and service—the oysters were delectable!
Everything was wonderful EXCEPT the temperature in the restaurant is always too cold. The AC was on even on a chilly Mid-October night, and was blowing directly. We simply had to leave before finishing our meal. Why does it have to be kept so cold!!
Service is always friendly and our meal arrived in a timely manner. The food is good and the menu offers a lot of variety.
Was the perfect outing for a low key Saturday night. Food and service were great. They made a point of spacing parties away from each.
We all enjoyed our dinner & drink. Even better though was the service. I never caught our server’s name, but he was fabulous.
Always good food and awesome service.
Great food, perfect service, obvious care with social distancing and disinfecting.
The whole mask thing is a little paranoid.
Food is always fresh and inviting. Servers are wonderful. We love eating here for an g excellent, relaxed meal. In this case, it was an anniversary brunch!
We ate outside, they get it right! Lots of space between the tables. Like many places an obvious staff shortage meant drinks weren’t refilled etc.
Service was great, food was great. Our first choice because we could get an outside table.
Just unfortunate that the smell of cigarette smoke wafted over from behind the restaurant.
Very nice. Enjoyable evening.
Good food,good selection. Good service
It was great. Food was delicious.
10 mins before the water came and 20 mins before the coffee arrived for brunch
I've Loved Clyde's for nearly 50 years. This was the first time since covid hit that I've done to one of their restaurants and things seemed a little off. Service is usually exemplary but last night it missed the mark by a lot. It wasn't very busy but twice I had to Hale somebody to get a glass of wine. I have the shrimp scampi and it was good but not at all memorable and it just seemed as if the food was made cheaply. We ate inside and the place was only maybe 1/3 full. Everything was just a tick or two below what I expect from Clyde's. I'll go back and Hope for a better time.
Quiet dinner with friends was pleasant. Fresh salads were generous and salmon was delicious. Excellent specialty cocktail list. Very friendly helpful service.
The food was great and Gabriel, our waiter, was excellent.
If you're under 40, Clyde's for an outdoor lunch on Friday is probably not your thing. However, if your hair has turned gray or white during the pandemic, it's a welcome event almost to the point of being thrilling. There were lots of us there on a recent visit and it was GREAT!
Went for weekday lunch and was not that busy. Service was very slow, unapologetic and then billed wrong amount. Dissatisfied
Two friends and I had lunch at Clyde's at Mark Center, which has been my neighborhood hangout for years. We sat outside under the awning Clyde's erected for outdoor diners during the pandemic. The server was friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. I found there was insufficient mozzarella and basil in the heirloom tomato salad, but the tomatoes themselves were very good. The pan-seared salmon filet was large and moist, served atop perfectly cook ratatouille and a savory red pepper coulis. For dessert, the blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream was perfect. I have lunched or dined at Clyde's at least once a month for years, and I will continue to do so.
Food was good, could expand on the menu,
Close to raw, green beans could be cooked longer
We sat outside to eat and it was perfect. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Prices are high.
Long before the years of Covid our family has enjoyed Clyde's Mark Center so we were very pleased to return . It was my 72 B Day and I wanted to enjoy and the crew at Mark Center was Outstanding in all . Thanks To All
We have found Clyde's to be a nice place to entertain out-of-town friends.
We took my mom here for her birthday and we had a great time. The food and the service was wonderful! We will definitely be back.
Our waitress was awesome. Great meal and good time.
Food was good, the service was excellent. Manager was very accommodating to special requests.
Outside dining opportunity was appreciated. Nice tent, great separation. Food and service has remained constantly excellent, as it has from the day the restaurant opened. BTW, pickup/takeout service is excellent. Quality food that remains hot as it is well packaged.
Reliably good food. Outdoor tables are well spaced.
Never a bad meal. Always good service.
As always, the perfect neighborhood spot. COVID precautions extensive and thoughtful. Just delightful in all respects!
Wow! Great ambiance and fantastic COVID protocol.
I made a reservation but we were seated in what looked like an overflow very casual patio area. We were moved back into main restaurant when we requested the change but Clydes shouldn’t have made the mistake in the first place. Food is always excellent Service fine but a little slow I assume due to Covid understaffing. Overall a good evening.
Food was good, fish was a little off, bland (cod), pork chop was delicious and all the accoutrements were great! The place is always great, Mark Center restaurant is a beautiful space. Service was a little slow, yet the waiter was great - we appreciate that there is some Covid related slowness. Manager checked on us etc. We appreciate that they were accommodating and very cautious with Covid.
