Clyde's of Chevy Chase
Executive Chef Jake Lydon
Mini Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes
spinach, watercress, Pernod, Parmesan, breadcrumbs
Tried the new shrimp cake and it was quite tasty, date had the baked salmon. We shared a market salad and the shrimp cocktail appetizer. Martini's were right excellent. Can't beat Clyde's for the price.
The food was very good, though the menu has shrunk a bit. The service was outstanding. The tent worked great though it does get a bit noisy when it gets more fully occupied. Overall a great dinner with friends!!
Excellent and fresh produce, superior meats, presentation
Service and food excellent, as always.
Clyde’s is always good food and good service. I’ve never had a bad experience there in 20+ years.
Everything was very good except our server was very unfriendly . Unusual for Clyde’s .
Love Clyde’s - felt very safe -staff wearing masks and plexiglass back abs front of the tables - great food
Great food and service. We ate outside which was pleasant.
Our server, Shannon, was delightful. She was friendly, helpful, informed about the menu and generally pleasant. She made a very good food experience even better! She's 5 Star.
Menu poor compare to years ago Covid situation and price of the ingredients perhaps too expensive for this kind of place
10+ minutes before anyone showed up at the table. After several minutes, had to remind waiter about our drinks. Some minutes later, reminded him about the starter ordered at the same time, which finally arrived just before the entrees. He asked about dessert and then brought our bill while we were still eating the entree.
Good food, great service. Onething: Please eliminate the bacon from your clam chowder. I've been enjoying the clam chowder for 25 years and now I can;r order it at Clyde's anymore since you've added BACON. Please offer it the original New England way! Thank you.
Always a great time
Thanks team Clyde's
the ambience on the outdoor patio would be improved by the addition of some decor: plants, etc.
The new exec chief is very good, and he's has introduced a more varied. Keep it up.
Kitchen was not up to par for the large lunch brunch crowd. Eggs Benedict came out on soggy muffins with tough canadian bacon. Steak and eggs marginal with scrambled eggs over cooked and steak a joke-the butt end of a piece of meat that could hardly even be cut up.
Small menu has always been a strong suit. Yesterday's brunch was a disappointment!
We appreciated that staff is still wearing masks!!
Great as always! Never had a bad meal at Clyde’s!
Isidore fixed my drink herself - very special request fir no alcohol, no sugar - and it was fabulous! She is a very special wait person in many ways. Food was delicious!
Better service than our last time! Food continues to be great
Nice interior, food was good, nothing great just good. We sat in a booth, seats needed wiping, table was sticky. We had a nice server, but she spilled some of my drink while setting it on the table and didn’t clean it or even offer to wipe it.
Great food and service. Not quiet but not excessive noise.
Clyde's is always consistent. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The service was extremely slow. I don't know if the reason was shortage of staff. Our waiter was very nice, and we should have commented on the long wait, but didn't.
Went for a good burger, got a good burger, and even in the heat, sitting on their outdoor patio in the shade was very pleasant.
Eggs benedict were so-so -- skimpy for the price as compared to other places.
Dinner was absolutely amazing! The restaurant itself is so dang cute. I was so impressed with the train going around. Adorable! The food was amazing as well. My only thought was that the rueben sandwich was just a bit dry, but the flavor was still amazing. Will definitely be coming again!
Never got the soup. Main corse was not what was ordered. Overall not a pleasant experience.
Been eating at various Clyde's for years and always found them reliable. Was nice to dine there once again post-Covid and outside on a rare cool DMV evening.
Food and service excellent
Very good service and excellent food. Good location. It would be even better if they could provide parking vouchers for the car park nearby
Unfortunately we booked an outside table and it was raining heavily. We got a bit wet sitting at our first table but once moved it was fine. Because of the rain the ambience wasn’t great.
We had a great server. She was outstanding! Sorry I can’t remember her name. Keep up the good work!
Clyde’s is my standard for casual restaurants. If I eat out somewhere else, it’s because I want something Clyde’s doesn’t offer, such as Japanese or Thai food. Even when I want to splurge on a posh special-occasion dinner, I’m likely to choose the 1789 Restaurant, which is part of the Clyde’s group.
I love Clyde's! The atmosphere is whimsical and the food is delicious.
Food was delicious. Our server was great but service was a little slow but I know that's happening a lot in the service industry. Will definitely go back.
We always enjoy Clyde's and it was a perfect place to celebrate our 52nd wedding anniversary! Claude enjoyed his salmon and I enjoyed the shrimp and pasta - what large ones they were, too!
Covid has brought many changes to restaurants, clearly Clyde's is much behind rehiring staff. The service was very slow, sloppy (bread and butter was brought to the table after main course, water had to be requested several times, etc.) and inside it was extremely cold. There is NO reason to lower the temperature so much other than keeping those working there happy, but how about your customers? I have been at this Clyde's for decades, the service is much worse than before, food is more expensive. Try other places.
Food and service Excellent
The food is good in quantity, taste, and appearance. The service is attentive and responsive, and the ambience is warm and neighborly.
Clydes is a good place for a light lunch and catch up. It was quiet without the usual hectic ness when it is crowded and busy. Really nice to not feel rushed. Staff was attentive and helpful.
