Clyde's of Gallery Place
Service was great, had to send food back to many times
Service was very friendly but almost non-existent.
Everything was great. Service, food, drinks, ambiance.would definitely go back when we are in town again
Although maitre’d apologized and compensated for delivery of appetizers after reminder to wait staff and after main course, only AFTER that did bread arrive. In other words, thee courses were served exactly backwards. This was unusual and very disappointing at Clyde’s.
Our waitress Rosa was great
I called because we were not going to make out reservation time. They were very accommodating and took us right to our table when we arrived. Service and food was GREAT!!
Our experience was great overall but our waiter was training a new staff member, and from what we could tell, she wasn’t particularly organized herself. But the drinks eventually arrived, the food eventually arrived and it was all good.
The restaurant itself is a classic throwback to its fern bar origins, and it serves pretty standard fare. Steaks, seafood, comfort food. However my roasted squash and quinoa side dish with salmon was to die for!
Very nice dinner during DC restaurant week. We were seated promptly. Our server was very attentive, explained the restaurant week options. Pace of meal was very good. Nice dining experience.
I sent my steak back twice and it was still inedible.
Enjoyed the meal and service. Went prior to an event at the Capital One Arena.
The ambience is great, with plenty of seating in various levels and corners so that both small and large parties have places to sit. It's also beautifully designed. The only drawback on my most recent visit was the service was a bit slow. But, the food was great as always (and at a pretty nice price). Clyde's is conveniently located right next to the Gallery Place Chinatown Metro station, making it an easy place to meet up with friends and colleagues from other parts of the area.
Clyde's is a solid option. The food is usually good (though not usually great). The service is usually very good. The atmosphere can be lovely but you also run a fairly high risk of being seated next to large and loud parties. Last visit there were several tables in the dining area in which we were seated where children and adults were not using their "inside" voice. Since Clyde's has several dining room areas, next time I will inquire if there are spaces ore geared to smaller and quieter parties?
Great place. Took my 6year old here bf a wizards game. They were so great to him (and me) will definitely be coming back!
Clyde's is always a consistent, good meal. The calamari appetizer is delicious. We had the shrimp cocktail special which was outstaying! Crab cakes are always reliable and fantastic. Never had a bad meal here.
Service was not great food was just fine...nothing memorable really....other than the service was mediocre to say the least
It's our go-to restaurant for dinner before a Wizards game. The calamari fritti is excellent. I wish they would increase their selections of draft IPA beers. The noise level is more than "energrtic" - it was almost painful. Eat on the second level
I was not very happy that I made reservations and we were seated in the bar area. We had never been seated in that area before. It was pretty loud and we were at the window right where the music outside was being played, and there were people standing right in front of the window.
Other than that, the food and service were outstanding as always.
we all really enjoyed our dinner and drinks before the hockey game. Food was good, prepared quickly and the server was very good
Overall, Clyde’s was a perfect place to have a meal prior to the Washington Capitals hockey game.
My friend had the skirt steak. He thought it was very well prepared. It was unexpectedly thick. We were thinking of fajitas, but it was more like a traditional steak. Crab cakes very reliable. The restaurant seems to have eliminated reservations prior to Wizards game. I wish they would re-open reservations for then.
It was a very nice experience for the coworkers to have an After Holiday Lunch. We enjoyed it!
Another good trip to Clydes. The food was very good and the server very attentive!
Service was terrible. We went for Sunday brunch before a Caps game and arrived right at open. It took an hour to get 3 cups of coffee, 10 minutes to get syrup to go with the french toast and our water was not refilled until after we finished eating. It wasn't busy enough to warrant any of that either. We were told the coffee maker was broken but I don't believe a two story restaurant with a bar only has one coffee maker, or that they turned it on right at open. The food was average but because of the service I couldn't enjoy it. Definitely won't go back
Great food and service. Was seated promptly within 5 min of our reservation. Music was a little loud I thought. Good tunes, just too loud.
Server was excellent excellent!
Excellent service, outstanding food quality. I ordered crab cake dinner, well prepared, little filler in cakes, mostly just lump crab. Nice fries prepared really well. Very roomy booth, lovely decor with art covering the walls, beautiful wood paneling. Just really comfortable and very reasonably priced as usual with Clyde,s.
Good food. Unrushed yet attentive service. Exactly what we were looking for before our show at the Shakespeare Theatre.
Went here for New Year’s Eve. It’s a beautiful restaurant and the customer service is excellent.
New Year’s Eve
Late dinner to celebrate the new year. Lots of empty tables not very busy. Slow getting water and refills. Asked for bread and took way to long. Mac and cheese wasn’t hot. Sent back and still not hot. Got a new one and it was hot and good. Pork chop was good. Waitress seemed distracted.
We love Clyde's. The raw bar is always top-notch. Our steaks were juicy and delicious. We must go to Clyde's every time we go to a Caps game and it never disappoints.
Family celebrating New Year’s Eve
Great environment that is close to a lot of fun activities.
Lovely, warm atmosphere. We were there early for an early New Year’s Eve Dinner and had a great time. Everyone from age 7 to 70 was pleased. Service attentive and friendly
New Year’s Eve pre-theater with grandchildren. Started well. Food was ok. Service was inattentive and slow.
Went for NYE and it was nice not to have to have a pre-fix menus. We were able to order fro the reg menu. Food was good and prices reasonable. We got the salmon which was cooked perfectly. Will go again.
I took my eldest son, daughter-in-law, and youngest son to dinner. I’ve raved to them about the Raw Bar Happy Hour and steaks. It did not disappoint!! From the raw appetizers to the dinners, we were satisfied!
Great pregame dinner! The salads, Hanger Steak and filet mignon were excellent. Highly recommend this place.
The service was decent, but the quality of food was not at all what is expected for the price. The shrimp scampi was completely tasteless and the salad was as well. Orders were incorrect. Definitely not worth the price. Other items on the menu looked very good at other tables, but can't comment on taste.
