Clyde's of Gallery Place
Ordered the Crispy Chicken Excellent recommendation from waiter
The food looked great but the flavor was just ok. No one was blown away by their meal. The server was attentive but the meal came out without syrup for the French toast and my daughter's bacon. The sausage was absolutely awful.
A classic fine dining experience with thoughtful, local choices and wonderful service.
Our server, Jermaine, was a delight! He was pleasant, professional, and attentive! I will request him in the future. My only complaint is the beef nachos. I’ve had them for takeout before, loved them, and was looking forward to having them again. However, the meat was room temperature to cold! It’s possible that the cold sour cream, tomatoes, etc. on top, cooled the meat down. I suggest serving the cold items in separate side dishes to be added by the guest. Keep the meat steaming. The meat also tasted kind of grainy from being too lean. You need a little fat for texture and flavor!
Pass this on! Give them a chance to get it right! And I’ll go back!
Excellent food and a great place to relax. There are many Clyde's in the Washington DC area, I recommending when you need a day off from cooking.
My old bay wings was way too salty and the cups for the soda wasn’t clean. The cups had white stains
Dinner and drinks were fantastic. I ordered the asparagus ravioli but received an asparagus salad by mistake. The waitress was apologetic and quickly put in the correct order and did not charge for the salad. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating.
Not their best showing. Server did his best but was spread thin. Food wasn’t as great as we’ve come to expect.
As always, the service is top notch; the atmosphere up beat; the ingredients fresh and the food delicious. Clyde’s is always on its game
I was celebrating my graduation from the Jack Welch Management Institute with family and friends. The food was good. However, there was a mix up with the order for one of our guests, twice. This affected the evening. However the food and ambience were great. The charges were waived for the order that was messed up.
Best service I’ve had in the DC area.
Very nice restaurant, good food and excellent service. Will definitely return.
Clyde’s has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. We patronize many places in their chain. This is the first time I have had any complaint about the food or the service. Food was disappointingly ordinary, and our server was distracted and did not act like he had been trained to Clyde’s standards. This location could stand serious improvement
Great food, fair prices for portions! Service was amazing! If I frequented DC, this would be a must stop!
Great food and service. Waiter recommended food that we ordered and we were very pleased!
Great food and Joe at the front desk is always pleasant
Clyde’s is a wonderful Restaurant! I met a friend who was in town from Chicago and she was very impressed! She loved the place! The decor! The food! The art! The service! Everything about it! She was totally blown away!
It was a wonderful experience as all ways, I love eating at Clyde’s n plan to come back again n again.
The service was incredible. Food was excellent.
Awesome, quick and friendly service from Raymond. Great ambiance, lively but not distracting. Food came out within 15 minutes and was all delicious and fair price. Drinks were delicious, courtesy of Austin the bartender. Thanks so much!
This was our second visit. Our table was ready upon our arrival. The food was delicious. This time we ate downstairs instead of upstairs. The service was much better and faster upstairs on our first visit and it is very loud downstairs. The waiter was very polite to our 10 year old son. We will definitely return!
Love the District Chicken w/ mumbo sauce on the side!
Nice night with my wife!
You really can't go wrong when going to a Clyde's -- and this one is in a great location, a block from the Gallery Place Metro station. It's a very busy part of DC but an oasis of calm once you go inside and since the dining area is on the second level and the bar on the first, you also can escape the noise of the bar when that gets crowded.
Good place for a business meal as we could discuss and hear each other without many distractions. Surprisingly, the menu didn’t include a large selection of fish (only salmon and catfish to be precise). The food and service were overall good. I recommend the (raw) oysters and the crab cake. Avoid the soft shell crab.
Food was reasonable and delicious. Our waitress was training another person and certainly did not exhibit the best in customer service. Hopefully the trainee is placed with someone else in the future. Overall, enjoyed our dinner.
I have been a patron of Clydes since the 70s in Georgetown. Their food quality, their care for your space, is important. My colleague and I both had steaks...wonderful and perfectly prepared, including not using butter for me. The vegies were tasty and not overcooked and we had a relaxed engagement that allowed us to share ideas undisturbed.
This is a very nice, and surprisingly large, restaurant in the heart of China Town. Food and service were both top notch.
Truly a remarkable restaurant to not miss while you are in Washington, DC. The food is outstanding. The waitstaff is spot-on professional, attentive and remembers you and what you ordered when you come back!!! The restaurant itself is just beautiful. Dark wood, elegant and filled with paintings, chandeliers and statues to keep you busy while waiting for your food.
Food was very good quality. Nice that the steak offered the option of a sauce and side. Would have liked a 2 side option - but for a center city hotel - the price was in line. Our server was horrible. He was arrogant - and did not provide good service. After tracking him down for a cup of coffee - and asking for cream - the coffee went cold waiting on him. He then sat down at a table of girls and ignored us - and we had to "break up his party" with other guests to get our bill. For a high end restaurant I expect better service.
Leon (our server) was a pro; attentive, efficient and helpful. We were a fairly big group (6) and we were using s gift card and credit card and he helped us figure it all out. Other staff happily stopped what they were doing to take a picture. Great food, great memories.
Sat in the bar at a booth and had a great meal, awesome service and enjoyed the evening.
Too loud. Like the food, and it was convenient to the theater. But really, MUCH too loud, even in the supposed "quiet room" where they seated us
Been there many times. Street band outside was too loud!
The worst service I’ve experienced in DC since moving here almost a year ago.
Our server, Aretha, was exactly what one would hope to get handling their table. She knew the menu and recipes that allowed her to answer specific questions about items. I plan and hope to get her again for our May 13, 2020 visit.
Our server and the quality of the food were great. The only reason i didn't rate the restaurant higher was because of the attitude of the hostess, which as we all know is the first impression when dining at a restaurant.
Very slow service due to Mother's Day but it felt like the server forgot about us. Food was ok, wouldn't rush to come back though.
