Clyde's of Reston
Clyde's at Reston Town Center has mahogany and leather, antique model planes, boats and equestrian artifacts. Outdoor dining next to the Pavilion April thru October. American-style saloon menu.
**Every night we offer a Late Night menu until 1:30 am!**
Relaxed , casual dining. Excellent atmosphere for conversation over good food and drink. Attentive waiter with repeated contacts at just the right time, not suggesting that it was time to move on, but giving us ample time to enjoy the dinner and some conversation afterward. Overall very pleasant experience
Clyde's is...well...Clyde's. Nothing fancy, nothing exciting but you can get a decent burger and a glass of wine. However, we arrived shortly before 7p with no reservation and were told that we would have to wait 25 minutes. I went to the ladies' room and counted 13 empty tables. So, I hopped on my phone, made a reservation through Opentable, and, after a brief struggle with an irritated hostess, got a table at shortly after 7p. Really?
expanded wine selection. would be appreciated
love clydes. love the amazing wait-staff: GINA! HEATHER! two of the most badass women to ever walk the planet. and CLYDES CUSTOMERS GET TO HANG OUT WITH THEM. someone get those two women their own reality show.... and the managers? awesome. only change might be.....
1. clydes is a classy enough space/ambience that the music should NOT be pop music. no. jazz? light classical? soothing and relaxing but not distracting? i do NOT want to hear some crap song from the 80s when i'm enjoying a deep conversation. in the bar, maybe, but not in the dining space. that''s just my 2 cents.
2. maybe girls at the front/concierge desk that are... a tiny bit... friendlier? more polished? they kind of stare at you when you walk in, like they don't really know why you're there.... some have been great... but some of the younger ones maybe need a few lessons in basic social cues and behavior to be more welcoming? extroverts like me don't care... but some of my more shy colleagues are kind of thrown off by the girls in the front being kind of non-smiling and deer-in-the-headlights-ish.... so... yeah. that's just my thought.
great bartenders, great managers. attentive, beautiful food, thoughtful, great service, quiet enough for ADULTS to have a real conversation. thank you clydes. my co-workers and i love you.
Clyde’s service was outstanding. It was a busy night and we were seated next to a large party that was loud (but they were just having a fun evening so it’s not like they did anything wrong—it was just loud). Our server (TJ) took good care of us so we didn’t feel lost in the crowd. He was friendly, fast and attentive. The food was good. I wish there was a little more variety in the menu, but the steak and side dishes were very good.
It was excellent, loved the staff.
Entrees were very good drinks were horrible and wrong. Manager made right by not changing us for drinks or desert because of the many mistakes and problems with our meal so although an awful experience they did try to make it right.
Great place with wonderful staff for a delicious lunch with friends.
While the decor was very nice, the clientle were too noisy ruining the experience.
Both the hanger steak and liver & onions were tough & chewy.
The bread & service were excellent
Waitress did not know the menu well enough to answer questions. Waited an excessive amount of time for entrees to be served. Waitress asked if we would like to see the dessert menu ... before entrees were even served. Steaks were not grilled as ordered... very rare for 10 yr old that ordered medium well, etc. Two of us were done eating by the time corrected steaks came out. Though manager kindly comped our entire meal, it was a surprisingly bad experience.
Fall menu is a little better than what they offered this summer.
Family get together.
Clyde’s fails to live up to its potential. It has a great location and wonderful ambience. The food selections and quality just do not seem to live up to any expectations. The food taste and presentation leaves a lot to be desired. The food lacks any imagination and produces average meals at best.
Clyde's has been a Thanksgiving tradition for the last 6 years. It used to be one of my favorite restaurants. However, last year due to an apparent computer error, they horribly overbooked and we had to wait over an hour even with a reservation. This year, my in-laws ordered the Turkey and it was not cooked well at all. The white meat was tough and dry and the dark meat was rubbery. On the plus side, I had a New York Strip that, aside from the gristle, was delicious. The accompanying sauce was good as well. My wife had crab cakes that were also very good. Our waitress seemed to have an attitude. Maybe she had something else going on; but, the constant frown did not help the ambiance of the meal. Overall, we had mixed results. But I expect more than that from Clyde's. Next year we'll be starting a new tradition. BTW: We eat at Clyde's in DC a couple months ago and an obnoxious family made that visit a horror as well.
Clyde’s is our go-to Thanksgiving restaurant. Though extremely busy and noisy, if you go about 7:00 or a bit later on Thanksgiving, the wait is usually 15 minutes or less (with reservation). Earlier times often result in a 30-minute wait even with reservation. They do try their best to accommodate requests for certain seating, i.e., booth, quieter location at rear, etc. The value is excellent for this area with large enough portions for a take-home second meal. Traditional Thanksgiving meal is by-and-large good, but we no longer order dark meat as it is often tough and grisly. Though turkey is sometimes slightly dry and not as tender as it could be due to unusually thick slices (which some may prefer), stuffing and vegetables are often perfect. And ambience, coziness, warmth of interior is always a plus at Clyde’s.
Thanksgiving. We booked for 7pm. Waited 20 mins for a table. Food was good. Service very good. While we waited, more than handicapped people kept using the handicapped door and it was pretty cold. While waiting for our table, they would shout out the parties’ name. I asked could you just text us instead? They did both.
We got a table in the very front of the door. You had to ignore the shouting of names and cold air to enjoy Thanksgiving. Thankfully, our servers.. the wine server and food server and the primary server ( who takes your order and follows up with the bill) were all in great spirits.
We came for a nice thanksgiving dinner. We were happy we choose Clyde’s of Reston. Next time... I’d ask for a table much further way from the front door and hostess station.
The turkey was dry and tough. The staff were trying to rush people through the dining experience. Overall, I felt like I wasted money on a dinner that was equivalent to hospital food.
Horrible!!! Waited 45 minutes for an inedible Thanksgiving dinner that didn’t even taste like turkey. Will never go back to Clyde’s.
We made a reservation for thanksgiving, and we were seated right on tune. Service was fast, but food was a bit cold when served.
We had an excellent experience at Clyde’s of Reston for thanksgiving. The turkey meal was great, pecan pie was amazing, both bottles of wine were outstanding. I’d say the New York steak was better than the turkey though. We recommend this restaurant!
Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful - good food, more than generous portions and excellent service!
We had an excellent Thanksgiving feast, sitting in a window booth looking out on a Rockefeller Center type ice rink. It was the traditional meal: an ample serving of 1/4 in slices of turkey, mashed potatoes, 1/4 in slices of sweet potatoes, green beans, sausage stuffing, and cranberry sauce. Traditional, yes, but ordinary, not in the least bit. And dessert was included. I had apple pie a la mode, and my wife had pecan pie. It was the best Thanksgiving dinner out I can recall. Our waitress, Kelly, was delightful, and we had enough leftovers for another two meals.
Our Thanksgiving meal at Clyde’s in Reston was outstanding! We will definitely be Beach next year!
Seated 45 min after reservation. Very frustrating. Appetizers and salad came exactly at the same time as the entree
Went here for Thanksgiving and as always our over all experience was great. The waiter staff was on top of everything even though the restaurant was very busy. My husband and I both had the duck which was top notch. I have a number of food restrictions so the turkey dinner, complete with sausage dressing, candiesd sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce was not an option for me. I was able to find several options which I could eat, the duck being one of them. The only complaint was that we (2 of us) had reservations for 3PM and a group of 4 that arrived shortly before us with 3:30 reservations were seated before us and a number of other people with reservations around the same time as us were waiting to be seated. Not sure if this was just one group seated early or if it happened with more people. Maybe they need to review their reservation list method.
We enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner and the food was tasty and more than enough. Yummy!
Food was good but the four tiny pieces of steak and the steak salad entrée did not convey a sense of bounty especially on Thanksgiving day. I often choose Clyde's when I am in the neighborhood but the skimpiness of the steak salad really stood out this time.
A holiday tradition for us. Thanksgiving at Clyde's is always waaay easier and more fun than cooking. Clyde's is great for everyday and special occasions too!
We celebrated Thanksgiving Day at Clyde's of Reston. First time to go out on Thanksgiving. We had a great time. The turkey dinner was excellent. My wife had the Acorn Squash and loved that, also. The place was packed so glad to have a reservation. The atmosphere was perfect for a holiday.
Everything was just as it should be at a perfect dining spot...A+! We have dined here many times but not in quite a long time; always enjoy!
Fun holiday vibe. Food is consistently good. Love the wait staff. Always a good value. A favorite place of mine to drop in for a meal.
Especially nice now. Right by ice skating & Reston Town Center Christmas tree.
We went for Thanksgiving Dinner. The wait staff was wonderful but the food was average. The serving was plentiful but the turkey was tough and tasted gamey. The sides were tasty enough but nothing was particularly hot. More like room temperature. It was average.
My family went to Clyde’s on Thanksgiving Day and we had a great time. The food was amazing as always, with great service. I have been to Clyde’s in Reston and Ashburn and we always have a great time and leave completely happy and wanting to come back.
We had a large group of 20. A family get together. The staff handled us with care and the service and food was very good. Table arrangement as we requested. An overall very fine experience.
THE RESTAURANT LOOKED LIKE IT NEEDED A DEEP CLEANING AND SHINE PUT ON IT. LOOKED DUSTY.
Food was good ... but the service was outstanding! The best we had ever had - made for a great evening.
Food is good but overpriced. Not enough selection if you don’t want Sunday brunch food. Good atmosphere. Service on this particular day was slow and they forgot our appetizer. Usually service is very good.
Erica was a wonderful example of extraordinary service at Clyde’s.
Not our usual experience at Clyde’s
Don’t get to take my sons to a nice dinner very much. It’s a luxuary. Our waiter John was great. We didn’t get bread with our soup though. The food we greasy and not very tasty. Presentation meh. Expected more from Clydes. Expensive dinner for bar food taste/quality.
