Given it is out of season the atmosphere is superb, the recorded music could do with a little more variety. The menu is sensibly restricted but seasonal. The duck breast was truly exceptional. There were very attentive staff under the eagle eye of the manager. Cheerfulness was always there and just the right level of deference. One thing that pleased me was the high standard of dress for the staff and their willingness to help when needed.

Being in a wheelchair I require access, we approached from the promenade to be greeted by flights of steps. tucked away was a lift, littered with cigarette end, I attempted to operate it but it did not respond. Not a good start to our first visit. Eventually we tried the rear entrance where there was an access ramp. I mention the facts to the receptionist who informed me 'We do not use that way' , why have a lift if it is a garbage bin that does not fulfil its primary purpose? We opted for the Roast Beef Sunday lunch, but alas the was NO horseradish available, the chef eventually made some, by which time we had largely finished our beef. Will not be returning.

The food and decor were lovely. The head waiter was very attentive and tried to create a buzz but in an almost empty restaurant it’s hard. Food was well priced but felt wine was extortionate.

The staff were lovely and looked very smart. The reason I only have 4 stars is because the waiter got my order wrong, I ordered Chicken Risotto and received Butternut Squash Risotto. I was offered something else but my husband would have had to eat on his own. They brought me a side of spicy chicken which was lovely and offered me a complimentary dessert. I chose the rhubarb cheesecake which was deconstructed and very disappointing. In saying all that I would still recommend the restaurant and the hotel as our room was lovely with a sea view.

We had a three course meal, with wine. Limited menu choices, but the food we had was tasty and nicely presented. The staff were lovely. A little pricier then other 4 star hotel restaurants we have dined in, but overall it was a pleasant experience

The food was very nice, the starter wasn't quite to my partner's personal taste but all my food was great. Our waiter was a young man who didn't seem very experienced and so did slip up a bit but did ok all in all, the rest of the staff were lovely.

Food was bad quality. The ravioli was swamped in oil and hard and the pork belly hadn’t been cooked properly so the fat hadn’t rendered down. Not a good experience and will not be returning unfortunately.

Hotel Imperial is the prime stay location in the area and although I had visited previously, I'd not eaten there. I've given them top marks because, even though a Sunday roast can be a basic, if you're going to do it, do it well. They did.

Food was really overpriced and not great. The apples with the pork belly were rock solid and the pork belly was way too salty. Chocolate tart wasn’t good with the cherry sorbet which was just too overpowering. Service charge automatically included certainly wasn’t a reflection of the food we were served. Cheapest bottle of wine was £30!! and it wasn’t even nice!!

Love this restaurant, so look forward to Sunday lunch here when in Hythe. Ambience and service amazing, but food standard has dropped. Prawn cocktail was nice, but underwhelming, it was lacking something. Roast beef, whilst wanting well cooked, was like rubber with only 3 roast potatoes. Yorkshire pud was delicious. French manager outstanding as always! Wine had gone up by £7 a bottle since November. I hope it has improved on our next visit.

We've been to this restaurant many times before. The food this time was not as good. 2 of the party had adequate meals but mine was awful. Supposedly chicken with spicy rice and jus. The rice was soaked in the juice which was a horrible salty, thick Bisto style gravy...inedible and the chicken was a tough old bird too. The pastry ordered for dessert with a chocolate filling was like a piece of hard baked cardboard. Not good enough for the prices charged. Also,and this was the worst, the drinks ordered which should have been 175ml were short measures. We checked against the measures on a fruit juice bottle, they were barely 125ml. For over £8 a glass this should not have happened and I believe short measures are illegal. Such a shame as the manager and staff were very pleasant and the hotel is great.

Service very good. Food served well on hot plates, was of a good standard. Restaurant ambience - well presented and decorated, but a little gloomy due to absence of natural light. We missed the white tablecloths from last visit 2 or 3 years ago. Would visit again.

Coast restaurant had plenty of room and the service was excellent. The food was good although it could have been a little hotter, price wise expensive. But overall a good dining experience and well worth a visit. There is a 12.5% service charge so take that in mind when paying the bill.

The food was lovely and the staff were extremely helpful and quick service you were never waiting for them to come over even though it was a busy. Only gripe is the added service charge that goes to the hotel and not the staff if Id known that before speaking to another customer I wouldn't have paid it as the staff deserve the tips because you have a great team. I also would like to say it was probably the best Sunday dinner I have had out in a restaurant.

A lovely venue, attentive staff and really wonderful food. Our waiter Hobi was just brilliant as one of our party had some dietary requirements and on 3 occasion went to the kitchen to speak with the chef to make sure the menu choices were suitable and could be altered to meet the requirements. I would not hesitate to return again as it was just wonderful.

Lovely decor. Very good service. Limited menu only 4 choices of main and 2 steaks, but they were delicious. I think it’s a bit too pricey especially the fillet steak, which is probably why only 3 tables were occupied. Because of this I wouldn’t recommend it, shame because slight adjustment and I happily would. I would return as I know how nice the food and staff are.

Although we were pleasantly surprised by the overall experience we found that the service was a little slow, though I think a couple of staff members were trying so can be excused, we had to ask for overhead lights to be switched on and though overall we found the good to be very good, especially the beef which was absolutely perfect, my mother found the roast potatoes to be quite dry as though reheated or frozen ones not fresh and the vegetables (which were fresh)though I found enjoyable were a little too 'al dente' for our tastes. Otherwise a wholly enjoyable experience which we will be keen to repeat.

Very expensive for food which is essentially cooked well but then ruined by microwaving to order. I could have played squash with my cod fillet it was that rubbery. Also £4 for 2 slices of microwaved bread is not justifiable in any restaurant. Little ambience, a very 1980's feel to the place which I dont mind BUT please ... ditch the net curtains and get a decent sound track.
