Cooperage Inn Restaurant
The name "Cooperage Inn" comes from the craft of coopering, which goes back a few centuries, when it was the major method of packaging. We are located in the Long Island Wine region. Wine makers have always relied on the skills of the Village Cooper to store and age their wines.
Baked clams which used to be my favorite appetizer, were bland. Salad very good as was the chicken.
Worst service ever. Seated at 6:45 dinner served at 8:30. Food was under cooked and rushed. Terrible will never go back.
By far one of the best restaurants on the north fork, south fork, and on long island. Live music in the back by bar is a one man show which is wonderful and not too loud. Service is impeccable, and just the right amount of attention. Food is delicious and large portions.
Great food and service
Cute, busy , but served quickly
Been going to The Cooperage Inn for many years. Kind of a romantic getaway on the North Fork of
Long Island. Food is always good as is the wait staff. Only suggestions I have for improvement are:
Add some new items to the menu (Lobster Roll?)
Bring back steak fries and get rid of the crispy chips. Just not the same.
Also, as a frequent diner at The Cooperage Inn, I used to get a 10% off coupon emailed to me each year that was good for a full year. Stopped coming in 2020.
Great atmosphere, delicious food and wonderful staff
Brunch is always great. Food is fresh and replenished often. Customer satisfaction is very important to them too...my nephew simply stated that he would like some strawberries. The manager/owner happened to overhear and brought him strawberries and a bowl of whipped cream.
Food was good service was great great place for Sunday brunch will definitely return
Valentine’s Day was packed but the place was not loud or sl
We were pleasantly surprised by the Valentine’s Day menu items. Excellent service and food. We love coming here and always have an enjoyable experience. Thank you for another delicious meal. The bread pudding was also a nice touch!
Wife and I went for VDay dinner. Food and service were perfect. The owner checked in a few times as well
I love this place. Great food and service. Wonderful ambiance.
It was couples night. Price fixe menu was well worth it.
We were there for Sunday Brunch. The food was abundant, with a wide variety of choices, all of which we found to be delicious. It was very busy, but the noise level did mot interfere with our conversation. We had eaten there before, and found the service to be very amiable, as it was during brunch even though the servers were very busy. Highly recommend The Cooperage Inn.
Always good food. Music was fantastic.
Restaurant Week meant crowds but the service and food met and exceeded expectations.
Been at the Cooperage many times. Always great food, great service, attentive staff. Will be going back.
THE FOOD WAS GREAT THE SERVICE COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER
As always, the Cooperage Inn does not disappoint! Food was delicious , served promptly by a wait staff that are personable as they are professional. The Mrs. & I have established the Cooperage as our favorite "Date Night" destination.
We love the Cooperage. Very homey atmosphere and the food is very good.
pleasant atmosphere; excellent food; warm service. will return.
We enjoyed a great three course meal. The unusual appetizer of smoked sweet potato with corn salsa, guacamole, and melted cheese was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. A return trip is definitely on the agenda!
The food is always delicious. The service was a little slower than expected.
What a lovely dinner we had. Everyone loved what they ordered. The chicken pot pie never disappoints, the pork chop looked wonderful, the chicken franchise was delicious, house salad is always very good and rice pudding yummy!!
I suppose that Restaurant Week played a role in the less than optimum service at The Cooperage Inn when I visited for dinner this past Sunday. The restaurant was non-stop busy, more-so than normal for a Sunday evening. As usual, the food was top-notch ( and it came out without a long wait!)...crab cakes....eggplant fries....pan-seared swordfish....and the seafood brousse! With great desserts...we were definitely very satisfied with the food. However, the service had issues although minor....confusion as to which table we would be seated at...multiple requests for water....failure to ask if we wanted coffee after dinner. But in all honesty, we felt sorry for our waitress after we were told that had to serve about 10 tables on a very busy evening! That is a management problem and they should be aware.
All in all, a very pleasant evening in a cozy atmosphere with some very good food and, with restaurant week, a great deal , too!
great atmosphere. Food and service was outstanding as usual..
We were seated at time of reservation. I wanted a birthday surprise for husband, so wrote that in Open Table reservation (Under special notes)
But no one produced a cake or slice with candle, so we just let it go. Disappointed, but otherwise a good time.
Hi Anonymous! I looked back to my reservations for Sunday and I do apologize, but I have no special notes from any guests about a husbands birthday.
The hostesses did not smile or welcome us, (not the first time.) Our waitress Kerry/Cary was very nice but not familiar with area we were seated and service was slow and confused. Food runners were bringing food to wrong tables because she didn’t know the layout of table numbers. As a former hostess the way the customers are seated was odd, and difficult for wait staff to keep up. The food and price fix were absolutely wonderful. That is really why we keep coming back!
We love the Cooperage! The food is delicious, the ambiance is festive and the live music is the icing on the cake!
As excellent as it was 20 years ago, actually getting better all the time. Outstanding !!!!!!!!!!
Ordered steak medium rare and when it came out it was well done. Hard to even eat the meal. Our waitress was great and super patient with my gluten allergy requests.
We love the Cooperage Inn, the food, décor and ambiance are wonderful. Thursday date night is a great value.
My family and I had lunch at the Cooperage Inn after my father's funeral at Calverton National Cemetery. Our waiter Tony was very friendly and attentive. The restaurants ambiance was pleasant, christmas tree was still up with hearts for valentines day on it, white lights were hung tastefully and white table clothes lined the tables. We were there very early for lunch so there was not noise level to speak off. I had the crab cakes which were delicious, my husband wasn't thrilled with the rib eye, too much fat but everyone else at our table (7 people) seemed to enjoy their meals. It's a bit pricey but for a special occasion it was just right.
We have been to the restaurant before for dinner and this time we had a very nice brunch with family. The food was plentiful and a wide selection and very good. They have a carving station and an omelet station along with very tasty Eggs Benedict. Book your reservation as around 11:00 it starts to get crowded.
The food and the service was great as usual
Have been coming here for years. Everything is always perfect. Always recommend this
place to many people. Keep up the good work.
We always love going to the Cooperage Inn and are never disappointed. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and I love the way they decorate for the holidays/seasons. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. I recommend it to all my friends.
This is our go-to place for an old friend get together
