It was a wonderful experience and great food. Our server was super helpful and the manager ensured we had an exceptional meal.
Loved the restaurant and location. Food was great and tasty. Will be back again :)
I’m not sure I could recommend this restaurant to anyone I know. The concept and idea behind things are spot on, but the execution is lacking. The food was hardly seasoned, irregardless of whether salt was used or not. We ordered the grilled oysters and they were covered in Parmesan and garlic sauce, in a way that made the dish a mushy mess. My wife enjoyed her short rib Mac and cheese sandwich. I ordered The steak tips and eggs, with home style potatoes, and the entire dish had zero flavor. The coffee had a strong burnt taste to it. We opted for the Iced Virginia Coffee drink, in an effort to get better coffee and a pick me up taste to distract us from the other problems. I have considered trying it again during dinner time, as the brunch is usually not enough judge an establishment by. The service was pretty solid though.
We met up with some old friends who we hadn't seen for a long time. A busy Saturday night and had made reservations in preparation for a crowd. We were seated at a round, low-top for 4 on the edge of main dining room. Asked manager if there was a booth available to make it a bit cozier she said not at that time. However, brought us out a glass of champagne which was a generous gesture. Food was good, but not outstanding. We had the fried green tomatoes, lobster lettuce wraps and a salad with steak. Also two of us split the rack of lamb and a side of mac 'n cheese. As night went on, we stayed to chat, place got quieter and we were last to leave!! We will definitely come again as we found the selection had a great choice of gluten-free items, including a flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Our server, Marcos, was very kind and attentive, knowledgable about the menu and ingredients.
Went for dinner, they were delayed with our reservation by 30 minutes but they were great and gave us free drinks while we waited. We ordered our food and they forgot our appetizers so then they comped our whole meal. Really great customer service for the hiccups. The food is REALLY great, would definitely go back!
Service was friendly and generally responsive. Our server appeared to be stretched across several areas.
The steak and fish were excellent. The comp venison meatballs were very tasty. The lava cake was marginal, very dry, even with choc syrup. We passed that on to our server. 3 times folks stopped by to ask if things were ok but not at or towards end of meal.
Great atmosphere with amazing food and friendly staff especially since we were there for a birthday dinner with a bit of a high energy 2 year old! Food came out delicious and beautiful! A great date night spot!
Great people and great service. Unusual menu items excellently prepared
Food and service was exceptional! Will return for sure!
All our brunch plates were delicious. One small critique would be that the poached eggs on the Benedicts we ordered were a bit over done.
The food was great and the service good. The noise level was high which made it difficult to hear my dinner guest at times who was just sitting across the table from me. Our table was along a banquette, with one of us sitting on the banquette and the other person in a chair. The banquette was slightly higher than the chair level to the table, making for an awkward seating arrangement.
Our waiter, Scott, was attentive without hovering. Everything was delicious, from the cocktails to the entrees. Oysters and mussels were outstanding. We will definitely be back.
I ordered a chicken dish with grilled asparagus and it was absolutely outstanding. My husband's rabbit stew and salad were fine but not as good as mine. We ate outside and the server was attentive and helpful. I would definitely eat there again and would recommend it to others.
We apologize for being late for our reservation due to a late concert.
But it was not yet busy so we were seated.
Our server was absolutely wonderful. The rack of lamb was perfection as were the other entrees.
I had heard that it was a terrific restaurant and it is. Will surely return.
Copperwood Tavern is me and my fiancé’s favorite place to dine, the host are always so polite and so is the rest of the staff. Today we sat outside on the left side and had a server that has the same name as the basketball player, he gives decent service BUT he sweating so much that it does not look right when he’s willing it off with his hand and having food is in his hand, it does looks super wrong when you have a sweaty server handling food items. Do not get me wrong he gives decent service but it by the looks of it he does not use proper material to clean his sweat. Fyi carry paper or something that you can use to wipe off the sweat not your hands. It is always a pleasure Copperwood
Great food although we learned about our food from the table over when their waiter explained the dishes and recommendations than our own staff whose response to most questions was that it was good or popular.
Service was slow and I thought the raspberry waffle was underwhelming. The raspberries are on the side, not added into the mix.
Very good food. Farm to table. I had the chicken and my husband had the rockfish. Both were great. We also shared sides of Gouda mashed potatoes and the Brussel sprouts. Good portions. Great atmosphere. Was a little pricey for 2 people without drinks, but overall very good.
I liked the ambiance and service better than the food. The food was good but not great. Yet, I would recommend Copperwood Tavern. It is unique.
The place was nice and the food was good. The Server forgot about me, never asked my how my ribeye was until I was finished eating. That was the only time he checked on me after taking my order. Other helper delivered the food.
Great for groups, happy hour, and drinks. Food was fair; nothing to write home about.
The porch is really great for dogs!
It was great patio weather so we were able to get outside seating. Server (Scott) was great - attentive without being obtrusive. Food was excellent - Brunch menu. Would definitely recommend Brunch there.
We've had dinner there before and were very happy with the menu and service - was pretty loud inside though, so try to get the patio seating if possible
Awesome service and excellent menu choices. The food was terrific!
OMG....this was seriously THE BEST MEAL my husband and I have had in forever!!! We started with the wild mushroom and goat cheese crostini; went straight for the venison strip and the duck breast with a side of 5 cheese truffle mac and cheese.....everything was done to perfection; the flavors were divine!! Our waitress Mariya, was lovely: attentive and helpful!! We have raved about the restaurant to everyone we know!
Haven’t been to Copperwood in a while and glad we returned. There have been a few menu changes that are all for the good. We started with the delicious fried green tomatoes. My beloved had the lobster Benedict which transported her to Maine lobster fest many years ago. I tried the vegetable rabbit stew which was good. The tomato based broth was spicy to the point I couldn’t really enjoy the braised rabbit but the vegetable mix was just right. We had to try the winning peach cobbler for dessert. The addition of a few cherries and going light on the Carmel and cobbler pieces made the peaches the star of the dish. We had excellent service eating outdoors which just added to the enjoyment on a beautiful September Saturday. This traveling palate looks forward to future explorations of this farm to table establishment.
Great food and service. We really enjoyed it and plan to go back soon.
sat on the patio. weather was beautiful out. service was ok. could've come more often but was prompt to take the plates up at the end. wouldn't let us add drinks onto one check, so that was a disappointment. we weren't asking for anything complicated. ate the french toast sticks. those weren't very good. the mimosas were delicious.
I was very disappointed in the quality of the food, especially considering the price. I had rockfish, and it tasted like it was cooked in some strange oil. Maybe the worst fish I ever had.
Serviceable for a quick pre-theater "supper." We chose Copperwood more for its proximity to the Signature Theater rather than its culinary reputation The menu serves a broad range of tastes with generic entrées. The highlight was definitely the unexpected bonus of dollar-apiece oysters during happy hour, from 5:00 to 6:00.
Let me start by saying that their popcorn is the most amazing thing I’ve ever tasted, it tickles every taste bud. The food is extraordinary and the ambience is perfect. We will definitely be returning again and again .
Great service, but the food has gone downhill. The oysters were yellow in color (of the 12 ordered 4 were consumed), the steak was tender, but overcooked and flavorless and the lamb was quite literally raw. The mac and cheese and brussels used to be good, but had no flavor and the dessert was bad. We felt like we wasted our money and it was disappointing because the food used to be good here.
We went to Copperwood after making a reservation on open table for a special occasion. Our server greeted us by letting us know that the kitchen is closing and that they did not have any more coffee for the night and then asked if we had any questions about the menu. I asked if we could have just a minute or two so we could make a decision. She promptly returned no more than 30 seconds later to ask us again if we had any questions. We left and went down the block and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience at another restaurant. The manager and server both seemed quite pleased not to have to deal with another couple of guests for the evening. That will certainly be our last poor experience here after giving them several chances to get it right. That disappoints us because we really like to support local businesses, as I am a career industry professional with almost 30 years of experience. Give them a try at your own risk.
Great experience, as always.
Very nice ambiance, fresh food. It was a great time for my brunch date.
We sat outside on a comfortable evening. Service was great. Food is good. Not gourmet but fine. Ambiance was Great! Great for a relaxing evening with friends.
Not their fault but streets were blocked for an event for dogs. I am not a dog person
Food and drinks were excellent and our waiter very friendly and engaging.
Went there as a part of my birthday celebration. Hostess was friendly; wait staff not so much. Our waiter was standoffish, rarely came over to check if we wanted something additional. Twice we had to ask another waiter to have our waiter to come over. With regard to ordering food, I asked repeatedly the type of oysters served. Either he doesn't understand that there are various types of oysters or he was just being plain rude as his only response was "raw or steamed". The oysters were extremely small. However, they were fresh and tasty which I had raw on the half shell.
Aesthetically, the restaurant is rather charming. But overall due to the waiter's demeanor and the size of the oysters, I wouldn't recommend Copperwood nor will I likely return.
