Very average food and the service was frustratingly slow. Pricey for what it all was. Fine for drinks but I’m not sure I’d return for dinner again. Disappointing.
There was quite a buzz at Coq d'Argent on this Monday lunch. The place was packed, we tried the terrace which was warm enough (October). Lovely surroundings, Coq d'Argent remains one of the nicest rooftops in the City.
Despite the place being packed, service was attentive and the food delicious. Recommended.
My friend and I had a wonderful time and the food was delicious. Amazing ambience and I appreciated the COVID precautions
We tried the tasting menu and it was amazing, the team there looked after us and explained each course and wine pairing, the food was amazing … a memorable evening
Lovely food and amazing view
Wonderful spot for an early lunch on a Saturday. The set menu brunch is good value for the quality and attractiveness of the food. Totally recommend it. Excellent and discreet service. I couldn't fault it.
Wife’s Birthday and we were outside on the terrace in glorious sunshine! Amazing! Very attentive service with excellent wines to complement our food. Fabulous afternoon out with the family!
So so nice
Loving Coq D'Argent right now, great outdoor terraces with amazing staff and service. Second time in a week I have visited and have already booked to go back in a few weeks.
We came at around half 5 for dinner and we felt too dressed up I guess the times were awkward as people on our left dressed in t shirt, shorts whilst some are in their shirts.
Nevertheless, the pâté with brioche and snails was great, in garlic and butter - delicious! we ordered the seafood with lobster, prawns oysters etc as main and it was more than enough for two.
I have been to Coq D’Argent many times and unfortunately must say this was the worst experience I have had there.
Had an awful experience. Service was initially food, then our wireless went on break and there was absolutely no communication for close to an hour. The food was bland and lacked seasoning.
We made the right decision to pay and leave. We booked dinner elsewhere and had a wonderful rest of the evening.
Will not be going back here. Terrible and expensive for what you get.
perfect food and staff, lovely
Very pleasant lunch in the sunshine. Probably the best outdoor dining facility in the city
This was my first dining experience in the evening since the restrictions eased. I went with my two friends. We had a nice welcome and a nice table which was warm enough with the outdoor heaters. Service was swift and food was delicious. We had a great night together. It’s not my first time at the restaurant but first in a while and it’s always reliable for a nice evening with friends.
It was very busy as the outdoor terrace is amazing and the weather was also great. When we arrived and for the first hour or so of lunch the service was perfect but then it felt like there was a shift change and nobody came to our table for over 45mins so we were topping ourselves up with our wine (not a problem) but then had to get up to find a server to order more drinks as we had been sat empty for nearly half an hour. We were tucked around the corner a little so nobody was passing. We were then moved to another table following lunch which was in the shade so a little cold, but the manager allowed us to move to another table for an hour which was perfect and hugely appreciated! Enjoyed another glass of rosé in the sunshine. Overall service very slow but understand with restrictions not easy and the location and good wine made up for any shortcomings. Will definitely be back.
Lovely effort for my friends birthday. Really nice waiters. Very friendly. It was a bit cold so wrap up.
Highly disappointed by this visit to Coq d'Argent.
First sat at a table without a heater and told we would be moved 'if' a table became available - we could see two free tables. Twenty five minutes passed and no waiter had given us menus, offered us water or taken drinks orders which should have been coming out of our 1h30 dining time. I went to reception to ask to speak to the general manager, they assured me that the manager would be over - I never did see them - we were taken back to the same table, given menus and the waitress told us to 'shout across' the restaurant if she didn't come over.
We were eventually moved to a different table, offered a complimentary glass of champagne and had a lovely waitress. The service was still a bit slow but generally was a lot better and the food was excellent as always.
I was very disappointed as Coq d'Argent is one of my favourite restaurants and I was really looking forward to dining here and the whole experience from the beginning was just not what I expect from a restaurant of Coq d'Argent's calibre. I am having an event in July which was supposed to be here but I will no longer be going ahead with it at Coq d'Argent.
Very friendly and caring staff, good quality food and we were not rushed at our table which made it a lovely night.
Food was excellent, we started with Oysters and moved onto the Chateaubriand for main. We had a gorgeous table next to a heater and directly under the sun. The wait staff were AMAZING!! I went to 6 restaurants last week and only Coq D'argent is getting glowing reviews. I hate a huge wine list but our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and suggested a great white, red and dessert wine! Than you so much, we will be back soon.
The menu was limited, but understandably so on the basis the restaurant was reopening after the lockdown. However the choices that were available were decent.
The table service was good but the general operation of the restaurant appeared disjointed and disorganised to some degree. The main Managment appeared to struggle with creating a relaxed and controlled atmosphere.
Equally, given it was no surprise the restaurant was opening for outside dining only during April it could have been better prepared, whilst it so appreciated the weather cannot obviously be controlled, it certainly should have come as no surprise the weather can be poor, therefore they could have been better prepared with more heaters and parasols - diners were cold and wet - easily avoided with some small extra measures from the restaurant. Other roof terraces I have visited have achieved it, shame Coq d’argent haven’t.
Another great evening at Coq d’Argent. The staff were friendly and professional, and the Sommelier was in exceptional form with his recommendations again. The food, as always, was outstanding.
I have often shied away from Coq D'Argent - too loud/too many bankers. Now that the city is empty, the crowd was friendlier and the room felt more welcoming. The food on the set menu was great - service was friendly yet professional - thumbs up to Adnan. It's hard to find a wine under £45, but it can be done. Will definitely return post lockdown 2.0
The staff and the food were excellent.
Fantastic meal in a really nice environment. Great staff, polite and professional, and lovely food. A memorable and enjoyable experience. Many thanks!
Service was poor. Waited an hour to be served then sat with finished plates for a further 30 after asking someone to clear and being told staff will be along shortly. Hardly anyone in there so makes you wonder why?
Really enjoyed our evening at coq d’argent. The food and service was excellent and the set menu was very good value. Nice ambience, highly recommend.
Food excellent. Second time we've dined at this restaurant & food always at a high standard.
However on the occasion service below standard expected eg main course served but waited 10 minutes for white wine to be poured. Wrong bill given at end of meal.
Service and the environment were excellent. Alas I felt my food was too (table) salty. It was hard for me and my partner to taste anything else after noticing it. Portions were perfect and I cannot complain about anything else.
Amazing service and the restaurant has been organised to make you feel safe. Food was good but not the usual type of French food, some flavours did not mix very well. It was good to see the place during London restaurant festival.
We went there to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and had a great time...the food was super fresh and delicious, the service was great and the views from the terrace outstanding...It was however so brightly lit that it felt like a hotel lobby- and lacked ambience- by just by dimming the lights the experience would have felt more intimate and romantic...
Lovely dinner great service
A lovely meal, but the large plastic screens installed between each table meant there wasn't really enough space to get in and out of the booth.
Very impressed with my experience at Le Coq d'Argent in the context of the London Restaurant Festival. I had been meaning to go so this was a lovely context to try it out!
The menu was fantastic and every item in the menu was lovely.
Premium experience, I definitely recommend!
Great food, great service! The special offer set menu was well worth it. Will definitely be going back.
Great dinner and wine
Highly recommended, will definitely be back in the future
We had an amazing lunch and Abdul was outstanding (sorry I don’t remember his name correctly) thanks guys! We will be back.
As always I am never disappointed
