Our experienced team aim to deliver a warm and friendly dining experience which is to be enjoyed in traditional and unique surroundings.
Having read the festive menu on the Website we decided to give it a try. We arrived at the booking time, to then be seated at the bar behind three other couples. We were given menus and around 15 minutes later asked what we wanted to order. There were only two staff working for around 25 covers and it became clear that were stretched, this was the cause of the wait as plenty of tables empty but not yet cleared.
I selected the terrine and turkey, while my wife had the parsnip and apple soup, followed by the same main. Shortly afterwards we were each given a slice of regular sliced wholemeal bread straight from a supermarket loaf. We actually contemplating toasting it on the large candle that adorned the table.
The terrine was freezing cold, but served with some nicely toasted bread and a small green salad. The terrine was very coarse and lacked any real flavour. My wife’s soup was, in contrast, very nice.
The mains consisted of half-a-stuffed turkey breast, one “pig-in-blanket”, 4 sprouts, myself around 5 roast potatoes and for some reason, my wife receiving only 3 of the same size. The gravy was very rich and salty, which suited me as that’s to my preference.
The staff were great, but the food is of the quality you’d expect from a high street greasy spoon cafe that does Sunday lunches. Considering the meal was > £18 with a starter, it could be argued you’ll pay £7-9 for a roast that it’s not that bad for dinner - but the starter in my case, the small portions, and the mediocre quality simply don’t add up to value.
After the gentlemen on the table next to us saw the cheese board, which would be better described as a “cheese splinter” with only a few crumbs of cheese and half-a-packet of crackers on it, and said he’d “changed his mind about his pudding order”, we decided to skip desert.
Sorry, I can’t recommend.
We booked for my birthday. First time we visited. Food was really delicious and we were made to feel very welcome. Will be back.
Excellent service, ambience and fresh, high quality food. The waitress wasn’t invasive or pestering. Attentive to detail and professional. Delicious red wine and decent portion size for the starter, especially with the quality of the food, was a pleasant surprise. Will certainly be visiting again. No loudmouths. A classy joint indeed.
The Quality of Food, Service & choice of Wine were excellent, its makes a nice change in this day and age to find such a lovely restaurant that can deliver high end food at reasonable prices.
Great service and food yet again, 3rd visit and it never disappoints
Lovely old fashioned place, both in terms of food and decor. It confused us a bit that we had to ring the bell to get in, but from there everything was great.
What a find, a lovely calm and elegant setting for a wonderful afternoon tea!
Fantastic food nice setting was a little quiet but it was a Saturday lunchtime and the local football derby was on had 3 courses and 2 lovely bottles of wine will definitely return and recommend
This is a gem of a restaurant for those who want a meal served in traditional and quiet surroundings. We went for a pre opera supper and we couldn’t have chosen better. Considering it was our first time in Nottingham we certainly felt we had struck gold.
An excellent evening out with good food good friends and a relaxed environment. You will be seeing us again.
I can here on a Tuesday night. I was amazed that such a fantastic restaurant would be so quiet. Our food was AMAZING and the service was attentive and friendly. At such good value, too!
I have already recommended this place to others and will definitely be returning.
The food was amazing, the staff incredibly welcoming and friendly. What an amazing place. Our meals were very reasonably priced too. Can't recommend it enough!!!
Food old fashioned brasserie style but very well cooked indeed. Lovely atmosphere but a bit quiet. Slightly odd venue in the Masonic Hall but lovely nonetheless.
Probably my favourite restaurant in Nottingham, especially for a special occasion. A great building, close to the city centre with an interesting history which the staff are only too keen to share. And the food is not only superb but at a very reasonable price.
Delicious food, great service and ambience!
Great place for a quiet evening with good quality food and good service.
An unusual and interesting venue with traditional old style service, great quality menu (including some very good veggie options) and very reasonable prices.

My first visit to this restaurant and will definitely go back. Amazing good and such good value.

Friendly with quality food value food. Arrived last but wasn't a issue. Thankyou
Fantastic food and service love this restaurant. Hidden gem
Service was excellent, food was gorgeous. Just a shame we were the only customers!
I loved the experience of dining here but we were the only customers! It is a beautiful venue with a very pleasant member of staff. The food is excellent quality for the cost and I cannot understand why more people do not go here. It has a car park which in the centre of town is rare and a great place for pre theatre meals. I can thoroughly recommend it. It is clean and a very interesting building. The tables were presented beautifully. Nothing not to like. The wines were excellent and not overpriced. Thank you for the experience, I can recommend you try it.
Food was impeccable, service was excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Yet another excellent meal at the Corinthian - we will definitely go back!
Amazing food, amazing restaurant, amazing prices, amazing staff! This is now one of my favourite restaurants and they have incredible wedding rooms! I would highly recommend this place!
Great food, great service & great prices. Ideal location for eating if your going to the Royal concert hall.
Have been several times to this restaurant and never been disappointed with the food or service. It's a little Gem!
A gem of a restaurant where the food and service is excellent.
very very pleased , outstanding hidden gem. Parking is available behind which is an added bonus in the city centre.
The choice of food, varied and really well presented and cooked to perfection.
Staff very friendly and eager to please
Excellent customer service, excellent food and excellent atmosphere. Previously, I have only been here for afternoon tea but I decided to take my sister out for dinner for her birthday and she absolutely loved it. The waiter was king and friendly. The tea and food tasted amazing. I have already booked myself to go back with other family members and friends. This is the best little place to go out for dinner. It felt so private not overly loud and peaceful. I was actually able to enjoy my dinner. All complements to the chef, the food was incredible and they were able to help my sister since she can only eat gluten free food. They went the extra mile to serve us and I can now say this is one of my favourite places to go out and eat. I will become a regular customer. I certainly recommend this wonderful restaurant.
Why is this place not packed out regularly?
Great mothers day experience
Will be returning
Mother’s Day Lunch was good value with a decent choice on the set menu. All the dishes we had were well cooked and presented. Staff were friendly, courteous and efficient. Decor is rather tired, reflecting its background as the Masonic Lodge dining room but it’s a beautiful building nevertheless. Overall, we would recommend Corinthian so long as it’s location in the Masonic Lodge doesn’t bother you.
