great all round performance - suckling pig was the winner
The food was lovely and service good but extremely disappointed in the fact that we were not offered the ‘set’ menu. We were given the al a Carte menu proving more expensive.
My husband asked one of the staff was there another menu when we seen Different dishes come to other tables, to which she replied yes there was but made no attempt to fetch this for us nor let us change what we physically had just ordered. A shrug of the shoulders from the staff member along the comment ‘ maybe when you come back next time you can order from that menu’
I don’t like not giving good ratings but My rating would be a lot higher should simple thing have been offered to us and handled with differently.
Fabulous food and service. The lunchtime spring menu was delicious. attentive service which was not intrusive. Calm atmosphere throughout and very helpful staff.
We had the 5 course tasting menu. It was delicious, as were the cocktails. The service was excellent. We will definitely return. Thank you very much!
The atmosphere was not particularly lively or romantic but seemed very appropriate for a business meal. I should note that there were many people on dates while I was there (approx 3/4 of the tables) and they may have had a different impression/experience. I thought the food was excellent (flavours, textures and plating) but I tried two different cocktails which were both disappointing. Quite watered down and lacking in flavour. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and would recommend it with the caveats included in this review.
Wonderful long lunch with friends - would definitely go back! Great bar too! Super service.
It’s a lovely place
Food is not exceptional
Service is a little slow
Always enjoyable. Service varies by individual staff.
very disappointing . service is good prices are reasonable but the food is at best average .was really looking forward to the visit and was left very underwhelmed
Welcome and drinks at the bar was excellent, staff were very friendly. The ambience was ideal for the birthday meal for my wife and I, relaxed background music meant conversation was easy.
We decided to try the tasting menu as our first time at Corrigans. The food was of a very high standard with good presentation, adequate portion sizes and extremely tasty. The wine was excellent from a broad wine list. The service was professional, polite and courteous but still friendly and engaging, with the waiting staff introducing each course knowledgeably.
My only comment regarding cooking was that my toasted Brioche was scorched, and would have expected the Head Chef to have rejected at the pass. And on the build up of the tasting menu, I was surprised to see Brioche repeated in two courses, and asparagus also repeated in two courses.
The Asparagus in the fish course was so aldente that it could not be cut with a fish knife or the fork, disappointing.
However, I would recommend anyone to eat here, definitely one not to miss.
An afternoon lunch at Corrigans to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, from a few days ago ,
before heading off to the theatre in the evening to see Tina.Sounds great and would have been, but unfortunately we had booked for lunch at 2.45 our waitress and the sommelier were excellent and the food was superb but the staff at about 3.15 with only us left in the restaurant started moving tables, chairs and getting ready for a private function. This made us feel unwelcome and rushed and ruined our enjoyment. My wife complained to the manager who said he was sorry.
The next day i emailed Corrigans to complain and i am still awaiting a reply.
This was not a cheap afternoon and as you can see we are not happy.
Excellent food ( cooked by the man himself) friendly and attentive but unobtrusive service , lively and glamorous ambience.
Definitely to be repeated
Food took a long time to come and the lamb was undercooked and had to go back. Bar lovely. Otherwise very good.
It has been a while since my last visit to Corrigan's Mayfair and I am delighted to say that standards are as good as ever. I hope not to wait so long until my next meal there.
We came for the monday night steak special. it didnt seem like they were thrilled with serving it to us and mentioned it was only for lunch (but then came back to say it was OK). the canapes and amuses-bouche were delightful. so was the courgette flower we ordered to share and they kindly sent us an extra plate with sauce on it for divvying it up.
however, the steaks were garniched, inexplicably, with breadcrumbs and lumps of fat on top of it. it was pretty unappealling, although it tasted fine.
the most annoying thing was the service. we ordered mashed potatoes, and we were both then shocked to find out that the steaks came with chips. at no point did the servert tell us this. then she kept coming back to try to take our plates when we were not only stil leating, but were in the middle of a conversation. mid sentence she was coming over saying 'are you done' (no 'exucse me').
fair enough at other places, but i expected a higher calibre of service here.
overall disappointed; won't rush back.
Fantastic meal, my wife and I enjoyed it immensely we have already recommended to friends and are already planning a return visit
The moment we arrived staff were very attentive to our needs all in a rush to give us wine menu water bread, take our order, need to slow it down.....
The soda bread arrived which was freshly made but the butter looked a little dated( in & out of the fridge look)
My husband ordered the rack of lamb i the sirloin which I had to share with him as only TWO extremely thin chops arrived on his plate, they weren’t very tasty either. Dessert was ordered only by myself and I was pleasantly surprised to see Rum Baba on the menu, this is a VERY soft doughnut type cake, a dessert from the 70’s soaked in rum. It was stale, hard! We sent it back, the waitress was apologetic and brought another, not stale but not amazing, no manager came to apologise! For Michelin star dining we had a very poor experience.
Mr Corrigan I suggest you get your house in order
Delightful experience Would recommend to anyone
Surprisingly quiet for a Thursday eve, hence not top marks for ambience.
Service was good mostly.
The food and wine were fabulous but pricey
Quiet Monday lunch - great ambiance and service. Set lunch for 38/- . Fish soup, misfired with pork but replaced with ducks leg and banana bread desert. Soup tasty but watery - could have been thicker and with more unctiousness to complement the fried squid ball. Should have asked about the pork in advance before ordering - arrived as pork jaw, very very fatty cut - tasty if you like that but with virtually no meat to speak off - not to my taste at all so they changed it for the duck but a 15 minute wait for my brother while his got cold - ate slowly. Said 5 mins but 15 so could have been managed better. Desert delicious as was the cheese but at 8/- extra for no choice a bit cheeky. Surely there’s more effort in preparing the desert given then trade-offs involved. Nice though. Overall good but VFM stretched. Wine choice good but quite expensive at the bottom end of the list - more spent on wine than food!
Just celebrated a birthday here. Lovely inviting bar and restaurant. Food and service are impeccable.
Fantastic food and service. Nathalie (Sommelier) was extremely helpful and provided excellent recommendations
As always fabulous food and great service. I cannot find fault with Corrigans!
Returned to Corrigans after some time. Excellent service, Great food at the Easter Sunday Lunch. Only quibble was that the wine list was limited in terms of choice of more reasonably priced wines.
Perhaps my expectations we’re unrealistically high but tbh I thought the food was average. We were here for an anniversary meal (15 years) and wanted / expected something a bit more special. The staff were great but overall we left feeling light in the pocket and underwhelmed, I’m afraid. We’ve had amazing food at the likes of Claridge’s and Marcus etc and thought we were in the same price bracket with Corrigans but those others were honestly better value. Sorry.
I visited Corrigans for the first time on a quiet Monday lunchtime with friends. We ate from the set menu. The champagne and wine were very good, as was the service and the bread. But I was underwhelmed by the food. I had the squid, followed by the cod (which was cooked to my taste), with the mousse for dessert.
A shame that the excellent service was let down by the mediocre food.
Richard Corrigan's St Patrick's Day menu was a delight to behold; comfort food at its finest served with a generous helping of cead mile failte...by Richard himself, Tara and the rest of the team. See you next year...err...if not before!!
Enjoyed a St Patrick’s Day lunch with my wife and 8 year old son. Extremely welcoming staff and the food was a treat as was the wine.
We even got to meet Chef Corrigan who was not backward in coming forward with a frendly hello and enquiring how our meal was either side of making sure all was running smoothly in the bar & restaurant. Great day all round.
Perfect place for a pre-St Patrick's Day lunch. Great food, some singing and a lovely atmosphere not to mention the man himself Richard Corrigan.
Excellent service - offered welcome drink while waiting for the rest of the guests
A lovely desert free with candle for the birthday boy. Food was excellent certainly we will come back again
Haven't been here for a while but we really loved it. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Wine recommendations were excellent. Food (dover sole in my case) was very well cooked
Lovely meal, great service. Nice music!
Cocktails were pretty pricey for the whiskey and bourbon that was used in them.
The Gnocci was fantastic - really a dish to return for!
Great restaurant with excellent food and great wine list - we had wine by the glass/mini caraffe which was great - sometimes having to order bottles is a waste since for two people a bottle can be too much.
Tables are reasonably well spaced - this is a big plus, since if you are spending a decent amount, the last thing you want is to be able to hear the conversations at the next table (particularly when out on a romantic date). There are some high end London restaurants I would not go to purely because they just pack people in - how the heck is that ever going to be romantic!
Service from the staff was excellent throughout and very friendly - definitely not stuffy in any way, as some high end restaurants can be.
The only downside was the slow service for food - this was likely due to the restaurant being almost full. Since my date and I were having a lot of fun, it was not a big issue; but for some, I would imagine the slow service might be a problem.
Well heeled, fine dining Mayfair establishment that provided a great meal, service and ambience for our evening out. A last minute decision and afforded a great table to enjoy our dinner. Lobster bisque superb, gnocchi a knockout, even a side dish of carrots that came from vegetable heaven. All delicious, appropriately presented and served. Not a big night for wine but we managed to have a few good glasses and selection opportunities were descent. Well worth the visit!
Went on Valenine's day. Really nice ambience, staff very attentive and professional. Food was delicious and not gimmicky or over-elaborate. A really nice evening and a red rose for the ladies as we left!
Lovely dinner - as ever. Such a lovely dining room and such wonderful service. Will definitely be back - many times I hope
Great food and service all round. Will definitely visit again.
Food was amazing as usual , lovely , attentive staff serving a different menu in a cosy atmosphere . this is our third time in corrigans and can’t wait to go back . Brought mother in law with us this time who loved it too .
We had the set menu £34 for three courses but when you added the cost of sides, drinks and service it was £90 a head. The service and ambience were excellent!
