Very pleasant meal at Cotto which would appear to be a well established family run Italian restaurant. Only complaint was my wife’s ravioli was slightly hard. Otherwise nothing else to find fault with.
Male toilets clogged. Placed at the worst table, right by the cutlery (even though we were first customers of the evening). Offered bread, not told this would be charged. Food passable at best. Very much in a hurry to get us out and the next diners in - including the bill being presented un-asked for. Compulsory service charge. Vile.
Had read good reviews but out of a group of 4 only one person thought the food was ok. Rest of us did not enjoy the food. Wine was nice. Overpriced and disappointing overall. Would not recommend
Had dinner with a friend and it was fine though I was expecting better based on other reviews. We shared a pizza and a pasta dish, with a tiramisu for dessert. The owner is lovely, and the staff are ok, though it was a bit difficult to get a recommendation or much banter out of them! We got put in a poky little corner up the back too which wasn’t great.
Excellent staff, food was beautiful, service was also great, really lovely owner.
It is, not only for Gluten-free people an excellent Italian restaurant. Outstanding!
As good as any in Italy Great pasta dishes. Was in London for three nights and eat here twice
Cotto, is one of those gems, it doesn't look great from the outside but don't be put off walk in and get a great italian welcome, super service and fabulous food, I've been several times now and I love the place.
Meal was ok service good apart from the amount of time it took, 40 minute wait from starter to main. For an italian restaurant to have no pasta or pizza dishes on the set menu i found very strange, just fish or steak 🤷🏼♂️
It is hard to find a more authentic meal anywhere - the food is fantastic, as is the service and atmosphere. Pizza, pasta - can’t beat it. We went twice while in town - both amazing. Thank you!!!
Amazing restaurant with amazing genuine Italian food and staff! All the menu is gluten free, so it’s a paradise for gluten intolerant people!
Delicious food with extensive gluten free options (all their pasta and pizzas are available gluten free as well as several desserts) and the food was very nice. The atmosphere is quiet and traditional and the staff lovely. I’ll definitely go back!
After several days of eating at exclusive restaurants in London, we were just looking for some bread, pasta and a bottle of wine. We were thrilled to find this place just a few steps from our hotel.
We arrived early for our booking but it was not a problem for them. The menu was fantastic for the gluten free option for my husband. He said it was the best bread he had ever tasted and we both had the lasagne, which was lovely. Staff and service was first class. We cannot praise them enough.
True Italian experience. The owner is hands on here and makes sure everything runs smoothly. He has had Celiac disease for 30 years and takes gluten allergy seriously. Loved chatting with him! Delicious pasta and wide selection of gluten free menu items. Definitely going back!
Excellent home-feel dining! Great for celiacs!
Cotto Italian Restaurant. My husband and I recently had lunch at Cotto. We live in the area and decided to try Cotto for a mid-week lunch. The owner/manager was very helpful, engaging and attentive. We had a lovely lunch. Great Italian food at a reasonable rate. I would definitely return.
Okey food, great with all gluten free options.
Extremly warm (hot) restaurant, which led us to leave before dessert.
Don’t ever underestimate the need to start the AC!!!!
Do you have it for other reasons than to use it, sell it!!
A warm welcome, fast and attentive service, tasty traditional Italian at a reasonable price. A good place for an informal meal before a show at the Old Vic (5 minutes on foot).
Very timely and friendly service, catering for all sorts and nice genuine Italian feel.
No recommendation here for this place. Firstly we were shown to a table in a small alcove at the back of the restaurant which lacked any atmosphere. This was annoying because I had made a booking and there were tables available in the main part of the restaurant. I asked the waiter but he didn’t seem interested and laughed it off
The food was ordinary, nothing special so was a disappointing night.
Food was delicious. Gluten free options on most of the dishes (but not always available). Not many customers during lunchtime so lacked the normal Italian buzz. I would heartily recommend it to any Celiac as the owner is a fellow sufferer who ensures there is an option for you.
We had a great authentic Italian meal here. The lasagna and spaghetti with bolognese sauce were delicious. Their olives it’s bread are spicy and unique. My wife went back a second time to eat here during our 5 day trip to London. Would recommend their house red wine. The owner was very friendly and made sure we were enjoying the food.
Great little place, attentive staff and good food at a reasonable price for central London.
Fantastic food, super wait staff the owner is a true delight, and the food is excellent. Love the casual atmosphere
Great for gluten free diners. The owner also has celiac and almost every dish on the menu offers a gluten free option. Limited drink menu if you aren’t a wine drinker.
Visited Cotto whilst staying in London for Chelsea Flower Show. Having Cealiac desease and needing gluten free food It is great to see a restaurant that ,apart from a couple of dishes , offering a gluten free version of all of the rest of their menu.
Also such a happy restaurant run by Italian father and son with all the cheek banter that happens in a family run restaurant. Wish we had place like this where we live in Southampton.
Always good food good service a proper Italian restaurant run by Italians 👍
We had a great dinner with our 2 kids (5 and 9). Pizza was tasty, pasta were very nice and our kids shared a great and tasty gluten free pizza. One of our daughter has celiac disease and such place with tons of gluten free options is the real paradise for her. Thanks Cotto for this great family dinner!
Went with a big group. We were well served and happy.
We went to Cotto on the last day of our London vacation, and we couldn't have been happier with the food and the overall experience. One of those so-rare genuine family restaurants with fantastic food. Wish we could have gone back again.
Meh, nothing special. The tiramasu was especially banal. Sort of place you can imagine Gordan Ramsay tearing apart.
Handmade gluten free pasta, including filled ravioli!!! Tge gf pizza crust was fluffy; not the flat, crunchy crust we are usually stock with. The owner has been celiac for 30 years so he understands what is necessary to keep his celiac customers free from illness while still having tasty, authentic food. The bread was out of this world and there were multiple gf dessert options. My only recommendation would be to have more dairy free/casein free options, though that is quite difficult at an Italian restaurant. All in all, a great meal for my family and I.
Great Italian food and service, worth checking out, plenty of gluten free options.
We arrived 5 mins late for our table, to find that it had been given to other diners. The owner then tried to hurry up other diners to get a table free for us - we left before they made matters worse. Would avoid
We had a great time, a good welcome, good menu choice and the food was great too. Value was fine so we would definitely go back. Reasonably well located for us, so easy to get to.
WE had a lovely evening with lots of GF choices. The Italian owner made us feel very welcome. Great house wine too!
Well-priced, big selection, friendly hosts. Would happily go again.
We had a lovely time at Cotto, the food was great and the portions were super generous! This is one of the only places which offers almost everything on the menu as a gluten free option! Would definitely go again :)
