Cozy dining. Waiter was annoying though. Meatball appetizer was really good. Would recommend for a date gathering
Excellent service and great food
really great experience! food was great, wine was great and they did not rush us out at all!
Never misses. Menu reflects a good combination of classics and seasonal fare. Every meal is high quality, fresh and exactly what you expect when ordering.
Loved it. Great meal and great service!
Nobu was a terrific server and bartender. The Happy Hour menu was just right for our work group of six!
Nice place with a large yet very expensive wine list.
Service pretty good however waiter forgot to tell us the kitchen was closing. We did get to place our order.
My wife and I love this place! the food is always incredible. Couldn't recommend it enough.
We went to Cotto before going to a performance at the Palace Theater in Stamford. Parking is easy right around the corner in the Bell Street Garage, or on the street, and the food was terrific. That is one talented chef they have there! I want to go back just to have the delicious halibut with spinach again. Service was wonderful, too. It looked like it would be fun as a couple to sit at the bar to eat, but we sat at a table and that was fine too.
Also New Years Eve dinner
It was a disaster. At first they couldn’t find our reservation. We ordered drinks and after 15 minutes 2 of the 4 were served. The vodka martini was pink in color and was very salty. The substitute bartender evidently put olive juice in it. He refused to make any more drinks and our waitress asked if we would skip the cocktails and just get a bottle of wine. We canceled our orders and left
I am so disappointed with this restaurant and the horrific way I was treated by the manager. On Saturday evening, my husband and I had dinner here. When we got the bill, I saw that my meal was charged $34, but on the menu it had said it was $29. I grabbed a menu to double check I hadn't been mistaken, and saw that it did say $29 for the meal. I called the waiter over and politely pointed it out - I was not upset, mistakes on checks happen all the time. He responded that due to market price, it went up and he was "supposed" to tell me that when I ordered. I said okay, but you didn't tell me.. He said that he could not change the amount and asked if I would like the manager to come speak with me, so I said sure. I wasn't even upset, I assumed the manager would come over and honor the price on the menu - not a big deal. This is not what happened. The manager came over and immediately started yelling at me that she could not believe I am complaining about $5. She said that anywhere you go, the price will change based on market prices. The $5 charge is not even what I am upset about - I am upset that the manager literally yelled at me for questioning the discrepancy between the menu and the bill. The manager took the $5 off after yelling at me and ridiculing me for asking about $5. I responded that we would not be coming back to the restaurant after she treated me this way, and she replied "good - don't come back." I've never in my life seen a manager of a restaurant treat customers this way. It is unfortunate that the potential for a good restaurant is run by someone who clearly does not know anything about how to run a business. The restaurant was empty on a Saturday night and now we know why.
Fabulous place to celebrate the holidays! Highly recommend! Food and service outstanding!!
The place was very quiet but our waiter didn't check on us to refill drinks. We finally had to flag him down even though there were only a few people in the restaurant. The food was good and we will come again. Just would have appreciated a little bit more attention.
Always a great place, good food and atmosphere never disappoint
The service was excellent for my large group of diners. We had a group of 10 and everyone was pleased with the level of service and the quality of the food that we ate. The atmosphere was pretty good, for a weekday evening. I would definitely go back there again if I was looking for a large group dining opportunity.
Great experience all around. Food was great and very attentive staff.
We looked at menu online & made reservation. We ordered oysters, octopus & pizza, the pizza oven was broken so they couldn’t make & that’s what we wanted so we just got the appetizers. The octopus was small, it looked like it was the last piece & gave us what they had, not work the money plus there was a hair in it, the oysters were very good, but can’t really mess up. Overall over priced for the portions.
Great find in downtown Stamford. Close to cinema and other nearby attractions. Very good food and great service. Only negative was pounding music, which was a little too loud for the space. Young and vibrant crowd!
The food was excellent but the service terrible. We waited 30 mins before even putting in a drink order. And when we said to the hostess that we thought the waiter forgot about us, instead of apologizing, she said no, he’s just busy?!!
Friendly owner, delicious food!
Made a reservation but when we arrived the restaurant was closed. Very disappointed.
Went for lunch, food good but somewhat expensive for lunch and overall portion size. In my opinion the menu is also a bit 'disorganized'. I might go back but I'm certainly in no rush. This area of Stamford has a pretty high turnover rate, this will be soon.
When I compare my dinning at Cotto vs. other restaurants in Downtown Stamford, their a bit more expensive than most. The menu is limited and the flavor profiles are ok but at the prices offered, not worth it. I would recommend Cask, Fish, Barcelona, Flinders Line, etc., before going to Cotto.
Wonderful experience. We took Mom for Mother's Day. A very authentic Italian gathering spot. Loved the food and the servers.
We just went for Mother’s Day and everything was excellent!! Loved the Italian music playing too. Perfect!
Very good food for the money. Bar tender seemed overwhelmed however. The owner sat at the bar working on the computer. Very impersonal. He missed a great opportunity to engage, as brief as it may be.
We had a 7 pm reservation and they did not have a table for us. Once we finally sat, they gave waters to 2 of the 4 of us and 15 min later we finally got waters for all of us. They brought out 1 appetizer and it took at least 10 minutes for the remaining appetizers to come out. They brought out 2 dinners and then it took a long time for them to bring the remaining dinners so the first 2 people's meals were cold by the time the other people were served. One of us had the lobster pasta. There was a lobster claw, it wasn't cracked and they did not provide anything to crack it open with. We asked for a spoon for one meal, the waitress said sure, and then never brought it. The food was fine, nothing special, and certainly not something worth sitting through such poor service for. We would not recommend this restaurant at all.
Really wonderful meal but it was way too noisy to have a conversation
This is the third time I’ve been to this restaurant and I love it more every time I go, it’s really lovely and so is the staff, I can’t wait to go back!!!
Charming little restaurant with great service. Try the cod entree. The wine was terrific as well.
Nice little restaurant in Stamford next to the mall. Food was decent and service w as good.
We decided to give Cotto a try as we liked the looks of both their cocktail and food menus. We weren’t disappointed! Each of the four dishes we had was equally delicious – couldn’t even pick your favorite. Can’t wait to go back!
Food was good and the place was recommended by a friend. Service for the most part was good but the server never told us about any of the specials, etc. As we were paying the bill the server near the table next to ours was explaining all the specials to them. It’s a shame.
Hi , Thank you for your candid review. I apologize that we didn't meet your expectations during your visit. It appears we didn't do a great job of explaining our specials to you and the style of serving. Please reach out to me directly, firstname.lastname@example.org om, the next time you are coming in and I will personally make sure you enjoy your visit.
Great service, good pastas but very mediocre veal Milanese.
My family and I absolutely loved it! Staff was fantastic and accommodating. Can't wait to go back
