Cozy family-run traditional Italian restaurant. The owner is delightful and charming. He made a special pasta dish for my SO who can’t eat onion or garlic. My baked eggplant was delicious. Prices are quite reasonable. Can’t wait to go back.
Visiting from the US. The best gluten free pizza we have ever had. Try the gluten free gnocchi also. The owner, Lino, and his family make you feel at home with a meal that makes you feel like you are in Italy.
We made the last booking for 9.15pm, we had two adults and two 13 year olds with us. There was only two others in the place when we arrived and we were looking forward to a lovely relaxing meal after a 3 hour train journey. We only ordered two starters and two mains abs we were told to hurry as the kitchen was closing. I have never heard of an Italian restaurant not selling garlic bread. As each of us finished our dishes as we asked for it all to come out together, our plates were removed. We ordered two deserts and as we were eating the owner started putting the chairs on the table and turned some of the lights off. I have never known anything like it! Within one hour we were in and out ! Never again! I suggest they shouldn’t take bookings that late if they are not prepared to stay open!
Amazing food and service! Definitely will go again and recommend to all.
Delicious and many gluten-free options! Owner was terrific and chatted with us for several minutes.
Great little spot to eat some authentic Italian food.
Exceptional food and service. Highly recommended.
Traditional family Italian near Waterloo. Really enjoyed food. House wine £15 food £12-15. Good atmosphere and spacious. No rush and had good family evening
Wonderful Italian family restaurant with excellent pasta. Be warned though - the portions are enormous! Lovely owner, and the food is cooked by his wife.
Lino the owner was a legend, and my wife said the tiramisu was the best she has every had!
Very friendly staff, nice easygoing place.
Very lovely evening at this restaurant, no complaints at all
Booked, arrived. Not open.
Fantastic food, brilliant service, one of my favourite restaurants in London
What a lovely place tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the Southbank but oh so close. Great place fantastic food and staff are amazing. Attentive but not overly so and very friendly. Definitely will be a repeat visit, the Kiss and Calzone are the best I've ever tasted.
Welcoming, basic Italian eatery with good, friendly service. Had high hopes for good value, slightly off the beaten track, non-trendy Italian 1970s style. But the food was rather uninspired. Insalata Tricolore was spoiled by a mound of lettuce-based salad and Linguine Vongole lacked seasoning and much taste.
I love this place! I’m gluten-free and the menu is incredible for people like me- and the food is delicious.
Gorgeous independent family run restaurant, amazing food at a decent price. When they brought the gluten free food out we almost sent it back it tasted so good! I’ve been celiac for 8 years and this was hands down the best pizza and pasta I’ve had! 10/10
Food was alright, nice friendly service - the menu has GF options
Lino, the owner and his staff made us feel excellent in our birthday dinner celebration.
Thank you all.
Authentic and delicious Italian cuisine served by the owner Nino and his lovely staff.
Overall an excellent experience - superb food and very attentive service.
The total bill represented very good value which is much more important than minor irritation at a £1 charge for (excellent quality) bread and butter and a somewhat excessive added service charge of 15%.
Would definitely recommend and would definitely return.
Fab Italian food, well cooked and delicious. It’s often very difficult to find a good range of choices of gluten-free food that is tasty and freshly made, but Cotto excels.
I’ve kept this gem a secret from my wife until now, I guess we will be coming back very regularly now the cat’s out of the bag. Can’t wait for lockdown to end!
Friendly, good food. Excellent, my family and I were made to feel very welcome.
Lovely family friendly restaurant. Looked after us very well and had great food. Very welcoming.
Cotto is Fantastic value. It casual dining with a great vibe and proper italian food.
Staff were lovely and friendly, but the tomato sauces were a bit bland and that is the hallmark of an Italian restaurant.
The restaurant failed to honour the Open Table booking. We booked a table for a post-theatre supper. I hadn’t eaten there for about 10 years and had some fond memories of one of the veal dishes so was looking forward to it. When we arrived at the restaurant, and despite being 15 mins early for the booking, a rude lady sitting inside the door barked “closed” at us abruptly and asked us to leave. It plainly wasn’t closed, as we could see people eating.
So great and friendly, we came back for more the following night!
An appalling experience. We shared a tricolore salad which was poor but edible. Then we had pizzas which were simply not edible. The vegetarian one was absolutely soaked with oil. The other was also very oily and had ham which smelled well past its best. Before this meal I didnt think it was possibly to serve inedible pizza. I was wrong. Worst meal I've eaten in ages - at a loss to understand how it has positive reviews. Avoid
We are from out of town and it was our third time back. The food is excellent, especially for gluten free. Authentic southern Italian homestyle cooking - tasty and satisfying, unpretentious. Huge menu too! We feel like we are family and will always come to Cotto when we are lucky enough to be back in London! Great place to bring kids or family of all ages as well.
A great little place with lots of atmosphere and ambiance. The staff are friendly and attentive. Food was delicious too.
Nice family run resturant nice service from the waitress. Food was a little naturally bland hence she knew she had to ask do we want salt pepper with everything. But overall decent experience.
Fantastic meal with home made gluten free pasta that was the best I've ever had. The owner is friendly and really wants everyone to have a great time. Will definitely be coming back to try another gluten free ravioli!
Recommend to everybody, both those with and without allergies.
As ever a friendly welcome at this family run restaurant. The food, which is not overly sophisticated, but tasty and wholesome, was the reason for our visit. The extensive range of gluten-free dishes is the draw. There's a good mixed clientele, with families, couples and larger groups all accommodated. A pleasant meal in a welcoming atmosphere.
Food was lovely, couldn’t fault it. Restaurant however was completely empty so ambience lacking. Offered bread early on as you are in many restaurants, charged £1 each for a single slice of bread which we weren’t told when offered, frankly this is disgraceful behaviour and underhanded. Would put me off going back.
This was my 2nd time at Cotto and I like that this is an authentic Italian restaurant which got a real family feel to it. The food portions are big and really nice and the service is friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.
Food was OK but service extremely slow.
Nice visit to this small local family-run restaurant. The home made gnocchi was just ok but everything else was very good - grilled sardines and bresaolo starters and pizzas and veal chop mains. It was interesting to see the difference between the normal and gluten-free pizzas. Our gluten-free diner was happy with their pizza, a little crisp around the outside but doughy in the middle. Decent Italian red wine at reasonable prices. Our waiter was strictly business and in a hurry to take orders but perfectly efficient and everyone else seemed friendly. Would return.
