AMAZING!! The best food i have had on a long time, we will definitely be returning for some more :)
Much to our delight our daughter gave us vouchers for Christmas for the Crab and Lobster knowing that we had intended to go for lunch! We were not disappointed, we enjoyed every moment of it from the quirky interior to the superb food, we will definitely be making a return visit!
We had a wonderful lunch on Friday food and service were great
Very busy with tables close together making a business meeting a little difficult.
We had a very enjoyable evening. Food excellent service good . Need I say moor.
Very eclectic place. Great food and service. Nice to eat in either the bar area, dining room or conservatory. We had a couple of musicians for Mothers Day lunch which was a nice added touch. It's always busy so great for people watching. It isn't cheap but is a lovely special occasion place. It is one of our family favourites. Would highly recommend it but be ready to pay. Great believer in you get what you pay for. Lovely presentation and decent portion sizes. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
need to try amazing place me and my Mam went for lunch for mother’s day staff were great and food was beautiful would go back again, again
On reviewing the bill at the end of the meal it had a charge for two wines, we ordered only one. When questioning the staff we were informed that the charge for a large glass of wine was double the cost of a small wine. We reviewed the menu, there was nothing saying that a large wine was twice the cost of 'A WINE'. Whilst it is understood that a large wine would be more expensive than a normal wine. For there to be nothing indicating the cost stinks of 'MISS REPRESENATION'. Had we seen that a large glass was twice the price of a normal, we would have bought a bottle (better value). Really disappointed, it spoilt the occasion. I suggest that the company reviews their menu and makes it clear the cost of a large wine.
Disappointing. Service slow and the food below average. The duck was very tough and the mashed potato cold. The sweet was very good. Nobody asked whether we were satisfied!
Fantastic services & food! We will come again soon
The food was of good quality, but they need to sort out the service which was particularly poor on our visit,We had to wait for over 20 minutes before our orders was taken.
Didn't get off to a good start! Didn't acknowledge my girlfriend and handed me the menu first! Served me the first course and then had to wait a minute or so for my girlfriend to be served! Mussels for starter were the size of winkles! The bread they served was delicious! We both had the fish pie which was seriously over salted! Lovely place tho but left feeling so disappointed and severely let down!
Been here twice... 4 years apart!!! Doesn't time fly? However, the quality of the food and drink has remained at exactly the same level of excellence from visit#1 to visit#2!!! A truly fabulous place. The lunchtime menu is particularly brilliant value for money. Every mouthful of every course was wonderful!!! Despite the 2 hour drive to get there from Hull, I CAN'T let another 4 years go by without returning!!!
One meal was excellent, the other a disaster. However a price reduction was freely given.
The lunch menu is fantastic value and food excellent
Lovely ambience. We had a wonderful meal. I ordered off the set menu and my husband ordered off the specials and all the food was amazing. Very high quality and very reasonable considering how delicious it was. Would definitely visit again when we’re next in the area. Thank you Crab and Lobster
Fantastic food in a magical venue, lovely gardens to visit and a quirky but classy hotel on site in Crab Manor
Very pleasant lunch, excellent service, set menu good value, nice choice of wine but quite expensive. Would definitely return for a special occasion.
Excellent as always. Food and service 1st class . Can not fault in any way . We will be back again soon I hope
we're regular visitors to the Crab and Lobster and we've never experienced anything other than a fabulous meal and wonderful attentive service.
Delicious food and great service, would definitely recommend
Loved it..... this was our first visit but would definitely return . We went with the set lunch menu. It plenty to choose from and every course was lovely.
We loved everything about our lunch here. The food was delicious, the restaurant was warm and cosy. The staff were very efficient, but even more important in my opinion, they were really nice and very welcoming. Perfect.
First time eating here was spot on never tired some of the foods I had 5*
Very enjoyable day
Very good food but £2.60 for soda water (which used to be free on the bar) is overpriced. Also the table which they put us on was squashed against the wall and we had to juggle things on the table to fit everything on so not very comfortable especially as we had booked with Open Table.
Brilliant in all respects, as always
Delicious food, good service. Recommend, it is worth every penny if you choose wisely,
Wonderful atmosphere, exceptional food, faultless service and the right balance of attentiveness. Never disappointed when visiting The Crab & Lobster - always enjoy.
We went to the crab & lobster for my wife’s birthday , so our son could come with us we booked on for lunch .
The bar was full when we got there with people getting seated this was cleared really quickly so no issue there , we were seated by the waiter/ maitre de to a nice table however the look he gave our son wasn’t good we put it down to not having many kids in , but this why we chose the lunchtime, anyway we chose some drinks as I was driving I asked for a pint of coke , and as it happened my wife had a soft drink too and my son had a lemonade I am mentioning what we had to drink on purpose and you will see why when we get to the bill. The food was really nice and tasty and the sausage and mash that my son had he said was yummy . We were all too full for a pudding so we asked for the bill. This was where the shock really hit. The food was off the set menu and was excellent value for money , however the cost of the 3 drinks came to £12.50 yes the pint of coke was £5 the orange and lemonade that my wife had was the same and a small lemonade was £2.50. If we had had alcohol to drink the bill wouldn’t have been this much so why do restaurants take your eyes out and punish the non drinker. Or do they want us to drink and drive . On the whole the place was good but come on get the soft drink charges sorted Mr Crab and Lobster
We have had many fantastic meals at the crab over many years. I’m not sure if it’s just the lunch menu food that isn’t up to scratch but we’ve been disappointed on our last few visits.
This time despite booking in advance we were given a table in the conservatory next to the bar. It appeared ok but for most of our meal the waiters were standing next to us tapping away on the ordering screen.
An excellent choice for my wife's birthday. Due to the inclement weather we opted to go on a Sunday lunchtime. The menu was very good & my wife had Lobster, Scallop & Prawn Thermidor which she rated as excellent & the chips were sublime, I had the Traditional Sunday lunch of roast Sirloin of Beef which was also very good. Both too full to have desserts so just had coffee's with home made Truffles, an excellent choice. Very nice & friendly service with a wandering 1920's jazz duo providing background music. A 1st class lunch & venue.
The food is unbeatable but do know it is priced accordingly. One hundred pounds for two with only a couple of glasses of wine is what you can expect to pay.
Tables are close together. Be prepared to overhear others and be overheard.
It’s hard to find anything on the menu we didn’t wish to order.
Great ambience and a warm welcome from the team. Food was excellent and not rushed.
Only one blight on our list - we asked for the bill and waited 15 minutes before chasing it, when it arrived immediately. By all accounts the original person we asked went on his break soon after and "must have forgotten".
Wonderful food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend this to anyone, especially fish lovers.
We visited here twice in 2 days because we took 2 people on each day. Although it has to be said that with the menu that they have you could go every day for a week and not have the same dish twice. The menu is extensive but all the dishes tried were well cooked well presented and tasted really good. This restaurant is well worth the drive into the country. The staff were friendly and helpful. I Can highly recommend this restaurant with no buts.
Superb Ambience and food. Real ale range limited but good all the same. Heard many good reports and they were lived up to. A real unique experience not to be rushed
We have visited before a few times, staying on occasions at the Manor House part of the restaurant. The food is excellent, cooked to a very high standard and with excellent service. We took friends to celebrate their anniversary and the Crab and Lobster didn’t disappoint. A varied wine list and a good selection of courses. We would recommend and will certainly go back in the future.
The Crab and Lobster was up to its usual high standards and never disappoints.
Have been here before a few years ago. We decided 48 years of marriage merited a special place to go for lunch, and we were not disappointed. We had the set lunch menu plus a glass of wine each and a coffee £62 for two, which for such a high standard of cuisine was really good value. Plan on going back in June for my birthday!!!
