Brilliant time, my husband and I had our date night. It felt very special and the waiter couldent be any nicer.
Been twice now and love the place.
Awesome food and service. Attention to detail was second to none. Food Wes superb. Place was amazing.
8pm on a Fridat and the place felt like 2am in a nightclub. Drunk, loud and obnoxious people ruining the atmosphere and the staff were happy to let those people dominate the dining room. Drunk people spilling drinks over our feet whilst we are. A guy vaping into other diners faces. A drunk man eating a steak with his hands. Tables are all really close together so you can't escape any of this. Food was OK but we wouldn't go again.
Food was quite poor. This restaurant was fantastic 10 years ago, unfortunately the standard of food was too poor.
Guy that served us was very friendly. Introduced himself and told a bit about restaurant and hotel. Great service. Felt very welcome.
Had the absolute best time here! The food was delicious, staff were amazing! I can’t believe some of the reviews I’ve read are for the same place ! Highly recommend !
Lovely staff and great food
Amazing service with amazing food. Never been before and didn’t know what to expect but loved every minute. Not something I would do every week but once in a blue moon!
Food, ambiance, staff, drinks were brilliant, definitely will be staying again
I booked this place as a gift for my husbands birthday. The decor is captivating. So many places to look and details to take in. Staff were friendly on arrival, we felt very special.
The menu choices seemed good with several different menus to see. We had selected the 7 course menu as it was a special occasion. Unlike most restaurants i have dined in you usually expect to see indicators to identify if things are vegan, vegetarian or gluten free etc however that was not the case. Vegetarian was only key that was included so i asked our server what was possible. He was quite dismissive of my dietary issues and said 'what do you expect if you don't eat gluten or animal products.' This really made me feel quite uncomfortable and made me feel like i was a huge imposition. At one stage his suggestion was, get two of those and your partner can eat both. This would mean i would get no course and would just watch him eat. Not really the best approach to dietary issues ive ever experienced.
Other than that food was served swiftly, the food that we did have was ice but it wasnt as amazing as i was expecting. The focus of presentation is the dishes that the food is served in, there is minimal attention to decoration, i.e. no sprigs of herbs or anything to fancy up the food. The food was nice enough and they did make the effort of decorating my husbands plate for his desert with a candle and happy birthday written in chocolate. The courses were small and many of them are fried foods like croquettes. The cheeseboard at the end was just one piece of cheese and two crackers. The ambience makes the difference although all the stuffed animals is not to everyones taste. The service could be greatly improved, they are attentive but some of them come off a little arrogant.
Really lovely meal, food was amazing. Couldn’t fault the food or service in anyway
Deco was amazing and staff were friendly and helpful but seating wasn't very comfortable and dessert felt like it had just come out of the freezer. If we hadn’t had the groupon deal it could have been quite an expensive evening
The food here is excellent. We met with former colleagues and enjoyed a very pleasant lunch. We did have to ask to have the music turned down
Unfortunately quiet, other than a few individuals speaking very loudly on there phones. The food was rather nice although not up to the surroundings. Our waitress was lovely, attentive without being over bearing.
The decor is beautiful, however looking a bit tired in some areas. We visit regularly and notice the same things broken for some months
A great meal out with family - although found the music a little loud to hear the conversation across the table - but it was a big table for 5 of us. Overall a great night out
Amazing place, delicious food. Quit and calm atmosphere. Good place for a couple and also for a family with kids. 5🌟
See you soon 😊
Birthday celebration. The waiter was fantastic, food great and ambience also good. We got a booth which made it all the more special.
Lovely restaurant with amazing food! Thank you so much.
Service from our waiter was amazing, food was lovely ( could have done with a little bit more on the plate ) the seating for the area needs to be replaced there was holes in the seats and for the price would have thought it was have been more up to date
Service was amazing, my glass never reached the bottom, the food was a good taste but the portion size was too small for me! My main came out with one egg and what looked like half a chicken breast. They got my order wrong with my dessert when I said just the white chocolate ice cream, this came out with raspberry. Overall it was ok but ended up getting a McDonald’s after as we were still hungry.
Pretty basic food- the menu is misleading. Cocktails are extremely overpriced for what they are. Although the service was good, next time we will eat elsewhere.
Beautiful restaurant great food and service
No better way to spend a Sunday treat yourself to something a bit different
My Boyfriend and I came to celebrate our Birthdays on Saturday 18th and both wanted to try the Crazy Bear after hearing such great things. Unfortunately we were both unwell following our visit which has completely tarnished the evening for us both.
After emailing to inform the staff at Beaconsfield Crazy Bear we have been left feeling as if we have made it up and it couldn't possibly be down to the food we were served.
We are both extremely disappointed and feel like this could have been handled so much better.
Best meal I’ve ever had - the quality & service here is faultless! Huge choice of food & I require gluten free which is all clearly marked on the menu. It was that’s nice we’ve already booked to dine again in just over a week.
Absolutely wonderful, staff excellent, food excellent. I have been before for daughters birthday treat. Wish you were nearer to Reading.
The decor is stunning and the service is excellent, you would therefore expect the food to be so. Unfortunately the kitchen must have had an off day as it was average at best. The sizzle was far better than the sausage. Our guests were less complimentary and their starters were removed from the bill. I Would go back and try again in the hope that in was just a ‘blip’.
Love the atmosphere, although a bit dated it is still quite unique. Unfortunately the restaurant food (English one) leaves a lot to be desired. High price is fine if the quality is there, sadly our expensive dinner wasn’t. As an example the fish sharing platter was dry, overcooked and I’m prepared to bet frozen, not to mention probably generous for one but definitely small for 2 people. You can find a lot better for the price. Definitely won’t be back again.
We enjoyed the food, ambience and services. The evening was one to remember for a long time in a positive light.
Lovely lunch , great decor and very good service. We all really enjoyed it.
Food and service was amazing, couldn’t fault it. Good value for money and a great experience
fantastic place, and wonderful food and service, would love to come back again, well worth it, food and service was top notch.. thank you crazy bear
We had an amazing meal 1st class. Service was perfect. We can't wait to go back
Been here lots of times and it has always been great but the other night was a real disappointment food was cold so much so I cud taste the fat on my roast potatoes and had to been sent back. Had stomach pains all night after
I have used the restaurant many times over the years. This was the first visor we have had when the service has been friendly from all staff. Crazy Bear has always had a rep of being quite snooty with you as the customer and not particularly friendly or engaging. Many of my friends have always felt the same. It’s almost like you were not really good enough to be a customer there. I know they have had feedback on it before having read reviews and chatted to friends. This feedback has clearly been listened to as all staff smiled at us, said hello and goodbye, thanked us and the waitress was absolutely lovely and brilliant service. This is 180 degrees different from the many visits I’ve had before. Maybe it was down to the team on this day - but hopefully not and this is a positive sign of things to come. If you have tried to change then it has started to work. It’s the only thing that used to put me and Friends going there so this was a nice surprise. Thankyou.
Very nice food and service had a lovely evening. We will definitely be going back to try the Thai
The restaurant itself, at first glance, looked great. There were parts that were tired and in need of being replaced, our seat for example, where the leather was ripped. The staff were lovely and very attentive. However, one of them spilt red wine over my dress, and although he was genuinely mortified, no compensation was offered. The food was good, lacked in flavour in places, but overall we were happy. We loved the music being played and had a lovely eveing, despite the mishap!
Despite making a booking for 8pm and arriving earlier to have a drink at the bar to be on time for the booking, we were repeatedly told our table was not ready.
Had a lovely evening in the English restaurant! Food was amazing
Beautiful food - was very impressed. Drinks were pricey but what you’d expect there. Disappointed that they boast a cigar room and sell good cigars but then expect you to stand outside and smoke. Also disappointed that we were reminded that they’d need the table back and we’d not even been in there the full two hours. You’d have thought they’d have made an exception for a party of four who were spending over £600!!!
