The Restaurant was far smaller than expected, but very well decorated and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and the food was delicious and far better value for money than imagined - we ordered and had our food within the space of 5/10 minutes.
The only downsides were that the restaurant was very loud and that the two different restaurants of Beaconsfield, English and Thai, are in two different buildings, so if it's raining, make sure you bring an umbrella to walk between the two.
Anniversary Dinner. Catered for our Lactose intolerance really well (as one would assume with Thai food)
Menu options are vast but really mouthwatering, we were almost tempted by a 10course tasting menu but opted for more moderate dish counts.
Food was delicious, ate beyond full.
Service was shocking. Booked the meal for my parents 30 year anniversary and we were very disappointed with the lack of attentiveness from a staff. We had to wait half hour for an ice cream we ordered for a toddler and in the end had to reorder it because the staff we had ordered it through had just gone home.
The food was overpriced and not very flavoursome, the quality was not very good. The service was excellent.
The music was too loud to have a conversation.
Overall I would go again and wouldn’t recommend.
We started with the Crispy Soft Crabs and the Lobster Spring Rolls. Both delicious. For the main course we had the Sirloin Beef stir fry and the Duck and shared a portion of Steamed Rice. All very good !!
So cleverly and fabulously executed in terms of location feeling discreet, furnishings plush and quirky and food so heavenly. I felt service needed to be sharper and more welcoming especially by the two female waitresses who came to our table. Can’t wait to come again!
First time visit ... amazing ! Great service and the food was fantastic !!
So I booked this restaurant for my wife's birthday as we had often heard about the place and thought we should try it. When my wife found out where we were going she was excited. I had heard it was quite expensive but was hoping the food would reflect that.
we arrived at 1900hrs just in time for our booking (firstly the Crazy bear is very poorly signposted) we were taken to our table by the duty manager and sat down. We had already decided to have their 12 plate signature Thai sharing menu with a glass of champagne. the waitress came over and took our order and then for the next 45mins we literally had plates thrown at us and just as you were taking your last mouthful they whisked the plate away and brought t the next, this happened for each course and to top it off the food was awful. I have eaten in many a Thai restaurant and I feel I would have got better food form my local Thai takeaway.
we were then given the bill straight away so I paid and left and were out of the restaurant by 2000hrs. I was annoyed as this was supposed to be a nice romantic meal for my wife's birthday (which they knew).
so basically my view is this restaurant is over priced for the quality of food you receive and they give impression that you need to get in and out as quick as you can so they can get another customer in
wont ever go back here again
The restaurant environment was quirky albeit a little tired looking. Ambiance was good although it was a quiet time of the day and week.
Staff were polite but limited interaction
Food was not up to standard given prices. Our mains was a lamb dish which when presented was 2 lamb chops in a curry sauce. The chops were fatty and inedible.
Overall we were not that impressed with our experience given reviews
Nice place, the restaurant was a little bland compared to the rest of the building, the food was average for the price, however, the service was great.
Very expensive but nice
The food was good, the decor was amazing, and the waiters were very attentive. However the music was very loud, the restaurant was very dark, and the food was very overpriced! A few people around us were using the torches on their phones to read the menu and I found myself shouting at my partner so he could hear me. And for the amount we paid (e.g. £10 for a side dish), we didn't get a lot of food for our money (this side was 6 stalks of asparagus). Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend going to see what it's like. But don't expect good value for money or a nice quiet evening!
Very special experience. Excellent food, great service and atmosphere. Expensive but worth it.
As usual amazing atmosphere and food
Great food, great service.
My main course was cold. Both noodles and stir fry. Had to be returned although they did reduce the price of it by 50%
We ordered 12 Thai signature menu for 4 people but we were served for 2 people. We were so embarrassed to ask , why?
We had to ask for next dish every single time, the staff was not attentive.
Wrong dishes arrived from what we ordered and what we did order left off too
Amazing food, lovely atmosphere and great venue
Food was really good and so was the ambience. Just they may have been short of staff it felt. Finding a parking is difficult
great attention was given to a guest with allergies, so that was a huge bonus. Food is great too, just wish the folk on the phones were more polite as the restaurant team are awesome.
Great Thai food. Try the duck spring rolls, they are amazing!
Ordered the Signature sharing 12 Course Menu. Only 8 dishes came out and none of the substitutes I asked for. Plus still had to pay full price. Not impressed in the slightest nor offered any comps on future dining.
We went at lunch time and ate from the 12 place set menu. The food was an absolute delight. The cocktails were also excellent. Very impressed with the cuisine. We will be eating there again.
The one thing that come be improved is the signage in the street which can best be described as 'stealth'. I walked past the entrance twice without realising it and finally had to go into the Crazy Bear to get directions !
Lovely friendly staff and good service.
Had the Thai menu...well presented but a bit disappointed with the starters as they didn’t taste so great.
Mains were better.
Preference is for the Stadhampton restaurant, as the ambience and food was a lot better!!
Underwhelming experience, service was slow even though there were only 3 tables occupied. Black cod tasted like it’d come out of a microwave, starter portions were minuscule and not up to standard. Replacement seabass was fresh but slightly over cooked and bland, and worse, bits of scales in my plate.
Overall unimpressed, only realised I’d paid the service charge when I’d left otherwise I wouldn’t have paid £22 for the service I got.
Will stick the CB English.
Only concern was that the offer (£33 for 3 courses + Champagne) was billed ina strange way and thus not clear at the end of the meal. But it was correct.
Otherwise very good - food at normal high standard and the palace, whilst a little whacky is very nice.
Absolutely loved the food, the atmosphere and the service.
We were on a deal so the choices were limited for myself as a vegetarian but what I had was well presented and really tasty. I had the curry with tofu instead of chicken. The staff were great.
We went on a tuesday lunch and was the 1st in the restaurant, service and food where very good the only thing i would say is that the table tops have seen better days the faux leather tops significantly worn and a sticky feel to them
Food was beautiful as well presented, small portions for price. Took a long time to be served at. Cocktails selection was amazing.
Really enjoyed. Didn’t know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised.
Absolutely beautiful restaurant. Authentic flavours and generous portions. The service was impeccable. It is considerably more expensive than most Thai restaurants but the quality was outstanding. Definitely worth the splurge, especially if you're staying at the Crazy Bear Hotel.......
A mixture of feelings. Some dishes like the vegetable tempura and the hot and sour soup were fantastic but other dishes such as the salt chilli squid and beef panang has major flaws. The squid was minuscule so the majority of what was savoured was just the batter. Made me feel like I paid £13 just for flour. The beef was extremely tough in the Panang, certainly not from a prime cut of beef. Whilst the sauce was tasty it’s very off putting when paying £20 for a dish you have to struggle with. Overall I would say it’s just not value for money.
This was a treat for my sons 16th birthday. Had a fab time. Food was lovely. Great service and fantastic value. Drinks a little pricey but decor and ambience was fantastic so you are paying for that as well. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
Not bad place - Thai food is average.

Great ambience... and that’s where it stops
Horrible cocktails, I asked to change my drink I was told well that’s what you ordered, no offer to change. Chicken was dry, definitely reheated crisp on the edges and dry within. Service was rushed, we just got our starters and mains2 mins after each we was asked how was it ... wth let me eat in piece before the interrogation.
4 starters 2 mains 1 rice, 3 lowsy cocktails and a bottle of water £130 rip off.
I’d rather go to Thai square Windsor or Thai rack Gerrards cross. My food blog will be live on insta soon #hunger trips.
Ruined an anniversary event aswell
I spoke to the GM who asked how it was, there was no resolve. Considering ppl have had better experiences they didn’t do much to make up for the downfall... conclusion : avoid
I had a 2 person dinner at the Thai restaurant. The food, place and service was lovely. We ordered the 10 plate taster menu and everything was gorgeous with a nice variety. I was a little disappointed as I went for my mothers birthday and ordered a happy birthday dessert with a fudge cake however received a cupcake instead. One of my other desserts didn't come at all but was charged for. Also we were handed the bill without asking for it and asked to leave as another table was booked an hour and a half after we got there. The staff were hectic and kept mentioning that they had another table. This would have been fine had we at least been informed of it beforehand and it ruined our dinner a bit. However I would definitely go again I would just make sure to mention this in advance so not to encounter any surprises.
As soon as we sat down we were told we would need to hurry up and make our food choices as the kitchen was about to close, some of the food was good, but then again the seafood salad I had was swimming in what ever sauce they had put with it and you could taste nothing else but. As for value for money we were expecting a little more interesting for our money, I also find £5 for Thai crackers to expensive.
this was a gorgeous restaurant. the lamb massaman curry was so good. plus they have a cute little dessert plate for my partners birthday
