So we were sat near the upstairs bar facing a stuffed giraffe. Not the best view as you get a full view of the giraffes backside ...so ask for a table at the back when.you book. Saying that they ignored my request for a quiet table! The waiter was a bit rude when we asked for things being very abrupt and telling us to wait, not very attentive towards our table forcing us to ask other members of staff for drinks etc. Definetly not worth the 13.5% service charge. The saving grace for this place is the food being really tasty and well made. Also the cocktails are nice but pricey. This won't be a regular place for us as a result.

Lovely food although considered it very expensive for what you got. The lamb chop massaman was a little tough. Great service. We were seated close to the entrance of the restaurant and were packed in with other tables with little room to get in and out. I would come again but probably not in a hurry.

We had a fantastic time at the restaurant. I have to say that the manager was very friendly and made us feel quite at home. Food was amazing and we will definitely be going back.

Amazing food, with amazing service at a really good price.

There is a huge variety of Asian food to choose from. We went for a ten plate set menu which gives quite a good breadth of choice without the bother of having to think too much.

We will definitely go back.

I booked a table at crazy bear for my birthday as I’ve heard amazing things and it’s safe to say I was very very disappointed. The service was poor. We had to ask for our drinks order to be taken, our starter, our main and desert (that was pre booked by my friends for my birthday.) our main took 1hr40 mins which is crazy to me as we ordered Thai curries and noodle dishes which should not take that long. The food was good but not hot, more like it had been sat there a while and the noodles were all congealed together too. I never usually complain or write negative reviews however I am so disappointed and unhappy with this restaurant. My friends ordered a birthday brownie for me as a surprise but the waiter came over with dessert menus and asked me to pick another one as they were out of brownie and ruined the whole surprise. I didn’t want to make a fuss at the restaurant as I didn’t want to ruin my birthday but I am so dissapointed.

The food was nice and the staff friendly but no more so than any other establishment.
The barman most certainly knows his stuff when it comes to cocktails.

The restaurant as a whole is quirky and somewhere different to go.
As a chain Crazy Bear has utterly disappointed me.

Being in a hurry to leave and catch our train, I nipped to the front and paid the bill. Thinking to myself that is was rather expensive for what we had ordered.
Later when i reviewed the receipt a "gratuity" of 13.5% was added without the waiter mentioning it at all.
Yes, I did then go to the restaurant's website and look through the Ts&Cs to see that this was automatically done.
Its a damn cheek when there are only 2 people dining. I would have no issue if there were 6+ but to add there own EXTRA £20 to my bill!?! No one should have to go through a 30 min read of terms and conditions when going out to eat somewhere. its downright rude and a liberty that has now cost you customers.

No thank you, we will find somewhere else in future.

Food is always very good however the service was poor. 15 mins to receive our wine and over 25 mins to receive our mains which also came with the second half of our starters. Not the best experience. Cocktail bar downstairs, excellent service and a great range of choices.

Not especially impressive food, service or ambience considering the cost. We didn't feel the food was much more impressive than any another high street chain. Service wasn't as attentive as you might expect, waiting ages to order drinks and at no point were we asked how things were, even when leaving. I would recommend many other venues ahead of Crazy Bear.

Worst experience ever! The lobster was so tough I could have thrown it at the wall and it would have come back and knocked me out ! To top it off the prawns was hard and tough. Everything lacked seasoning. The noodles were soggy and overly sweet. A total waste of money and the food took forever a total disappointment

Amazing food but service a little slow. Had the 3 course deal which was amazing but it took 2.5 hours in total. Couldn't fault the food, we left satisfied and very full! A really nice bar area downstairs with a DJ, a shame it was empty. Quite a hidden gem really.

This was the first time my husband and I have eaten at Crazy Bear for a few years. The food and cocktails were as excellent as we remembered. Truly delicious. However we did notice a real change in atmosphere / clientele. The restaurant was dominated by several larger groups of women dressed for clubbing. Presumably this a Saturday night phenomenon, but it did rather detract from the decadent, romantic meal experience we expected. There was also a slight feel of crowding and overbooking with a number of the tables around us being moved to the bar for dessert to make room for the next guests. I disapprove of double booking tables with such small intervals. Again, I guess it’s a Saturday night issue. We would return (the food/drinks are great), but I would be very wary of booking at the weekend for date night.

The service wasn't great at the start. The food portions were quite small for the price we paid and we got told to leave our table because another group had a booking despite the fact I had not finished my drink. Wasn't very impressed.

Cocktails and food was delicious. The table with a fixed lamp in the middle, makes it very squashed and uncomfortable for a party of 4 to enjoy a tasting menu. We had been previously as a couple and enjoyed the overall experience a lot more. Space for plates and sharing food is insufficient for 4 people to get the quality of experience I would expect at the Crazy Bear.

Had a great time!! the food, service and ambience of the restaurant was outstanding. Would highly recommend and look forward to going again. Had the classic set menu for two and it was more than enough food. We were celebrating a milestone birthday and the waiter went out of his way to organise a special desert to mark the occasion.
The only down side for me (not that it spoilt the experience) was that the restaurant was very hot, and slightly too dark. When I go again I will be sure to ask to sit down stairs as it's lighter and more private with cosey booths.

The food here was amazing!! Everything we ordered, be it dim sum or sushi, pad Thai or lamb, was delicious! The staff were very helpful and polite! The restaurant could do with a little more lighting and unfortunately we got kicked off the table in 2 hours (as per their policy) which meant that we didn’t even get to look at the dessert menus, but the waiter was very apologetic and courteous about this, so didn’t feel as rushed. Would definitely recommend and would advise those who do go, to make sure they visit the bathroom (if they can find it first!)
