This was the first time my husband and I have eaten at Crazy Bear for a few years. The food and cocktails were as excellent as we remembered. Truly delicious. However we did notice a real change in atmosphere / clientele. The restaurant was dominated by several larger groups of women dressed for clubbing. Presumably this a Saturday night phenomenon, but it did rather detract from the decadent, romantic meal experience we expected. There was also a slight feel of crowding and overbooking with a number of the tables around us being moved to the bar for dessert to make room for the next guests. I disapprove of double booking tables with such small intervals. Again, I guess it’s a Saturday night issue. We would return (the food/drinks are great), but I would be very wary of booking at the weekend for date night.

Cocktails and food was delicious. The table with a fixed lamp in the middle, makes it very squashed and uncomfortable for a party of 4 to enjoy a tasting menu. We had been previously as a couple and enjoyed the overall experience a lot more. Space for plates and sharing food is insufficient for 4 people to get the quality of experience I would expect at the Crazy Bear.

Had a great time!! the food, service and ambience of the restaurant was outstanding. Would highly recommend and look forward to going again. Had the classic set menu for two and it was more than enough food. We were celebrating a milestone birthday and the waiter went out of his way to organise a special desert to mark the occasion.
The only down side for me (not that it spoilt the experience) was that the restaurant was very hot, and slightly too dark. When I go again I will be sure to ask to sit down stairs as it's lighter and more private with cosey booths.

Good food but the seating completely ruined the experience. Far too many tables crammed into the space with lots of tables for 2 where you have to sit on a fixed couch next to each other. Won’t be going back...

The food here was amazing!! Everything we ordered, be it dim sum or sushi, pad Thai or lamb, was delicious! The staff were very helpful and polite! The restaurant could do with a little more lighting and unfortunately we got kicked off the table in 2 hours (as per their policy) which meant that we didn’t even get to look at the dessert menus, but the waiter was very apologetic and courteous about this, so didn’t feel as rushed. Would definitely recommend and would advise those who do go, to make sure they visit the bathroom (if they can find it first!)

Unfortunately the food we ordered turned up wrong, some items didn’t turn up at all, I was expecting a bit more variety on the menu too, not even sure we were given the right menu as a dish that wasn’t on our menu came in place of a dish that was & that we had ordered...

Food was fantastic however the service was poor. We were booked to eat at 9.30. After getting there early we were taken to the bar however we were not seated to eat until 10 after asking the waitress if we were able to be seated. We then were not given menus when seated and had to ask the table next to us to borrow theirs. It also took 20 minutes for us to get some water at the table. The waiters/waitresses were friendly but attention was lacking.

We have not been to the Crazy Bear for over a year now it used to be one of our favourite restaurants however the place is now looking very tied and in a desperate need of a total refurb. There were rips in the seats, arms on the leather chairs were discoloured/faded and the tables had scuffs. This is no longer a quality establishment.

Service was also poor we had to chase up our wine and food was average. Certainly no longer worth the premium price.

The food here was let down by poor service. We were seated at a table next to the till, which was perfectly fine, and in sight of the majority of waiters. It was 45 minutes before they took our order.

The food was very good, but it was brought out randomly, two of us had our food for about 20 minutes before the other 2 in our party got theirs - we also asked twice for it.

At no point did I feel that the waiters cared about our experience there. Having said this it was a Tuesday evening, so maybe it was the C Team. It was rather an absence of service and not staff being rude. The staff seemed like nice people, it was just as though none of them had ever worked in a restaurant before.

Nonetheless, the food brought out was really delicious, I’d recommend the massaman curry, but with cauliflower, and the blackened aubegine. I’d also recommend refresher training for the serving staff and manager.

Lovely food, but the service both in the bar and restaurant was really poor - we were totally forgotten about when it came to drinks orders and despite telling staff we had a dinner reservation, this was also forgotten about - we eventually just took ourselves to the restaurant! Table service at dinner also really slow, and a hair in the food - not what you'd expect for the location and price tag. Not sure we would go here again, though the ambience was OK.

Food was very good but unfortunately the service massively let this place down. We were seated and waited about 10/15 minutes to order drinks, one of my friends had to go up to the waiter and ask if we could order them. We then waited a further 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive which, arrived one by one instead of all together. My friend had to go up again and ask if we could order food. We just ordered mains, the food was actually really good, great sushi and curry. We got lucky as all the other tables around us were waiting a very long time for their food which, they were complaining to the staff about. Unfortunately, didn't live up to it's expectations and don't think I would visit again unless mid-week as the service may be better then?

They seated us upstairs by the door, luckily it was a nice day with no breeze. The tables were very small and the sofas wouldn’t allow you to sit next to each other which was annoying. The lamp is screwed onto the table so it’s hard to eat with very little room as they pile all the food on at once. Other than that the food and service was amazing

About the name rather than the service.
I feel like I’ve had better food at a cheaper price. It’s a place more about the brand rather than the food

Cocktails were very nice though

Enormous menu. This restaurant is marketed as Thai food. Most of the menu is sushi, there is even an option for a French dish. The decor is old and tired. The table lamps are screwed down to the table. The prices are oven inflated. The quality of the food is average. The ambiance is that of a railway carriage/canteen. The most disappointing meal I’ve experienced in a long time

I would not recommend this restaurant. Terrible service, not great food, not a good atmosphere.
On service - For example... I wanted to have the 12 course tasting menu and when I asked whether I could change one of the dishes as I didn’t eat beef..he simply said no. After much challenging he finally agreed to check again and did reluctantly swap a dish. I was surprised this could happen at such a restaurant.

Our experience at Crazy Bear was mediocre with particular highlights involving some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

The food was quite good, not nearly the value of the price, but it was a decent meal aided by the fact that my partner and I were both very hungry to start off with. The sushi (dynamite roll) that we had was quite plain and lacked any noticeable spice despite the description on the menu. Alongside that, we opted for the 12 plates option and found that, with the exception of the deep-fried dishes, everything was luke-warm but served on very hot plates. It seemed that the food had been ready for some time prior to serving.

The ambience was poor with loud music and a poor arrangement of table s which led to the restaurant being very noisy combined with dim lighting and a fixed lamp in the middle of the table which prevented a romantic meal.

Our waiter, Mikhail, was considerate but one of the dishes we were served (the seabass dish I think) smelt off and when my partner tasted it, it also tasted odd. This was no major issue, these things happen in restaurants and we imagined it would be replaced or taken away etc. Upon telling Mikhail he informed us that he would tell his manager who turned out to be Sandra, the manager who is (not by name but I can only assume it is her) mentioned in a collection of reviews for her poor customer service.

A rude and inconsiderate manager who assumed we were wrong and immediately stated that the fish was fine without checking anything and said that perhaps we were 'not used to eating food like this'. She was smug in telling us that there would be no replacement or taking off of the bill and seemed to thoroughly enjoy the exchange. The experience would have been average without her, her influence dropped my review and it was definitely a demonstration of her poor management and egotistic personality.
