The Crown has been welcoming guests for over 600 years. We pride ourselves in being a traditional village inn; a warm welcome awaits. The cosy fireside bar offers the unique ambience of our historic inn, along with traditional ales, lagers and an extensive wine and drinks list.

Whether you are after a light bite, a meal with friends, or sharing a family celebration our oak-panelled restaurant or relaxed lounge provides the perfect setting. Our head chef sources local and seasonal ingredients to deliver fresh, traditional and contemporary dishes for all tastes and dietary requirements. Children are welcomed and can choose from their own seasonal menu.

In warmer months, our sheltered courtyard garden enjoys the full midday sun. The small central courtyard is also available to book by request and offers a lovely private table. Balmy afternoons and evenings will find the front terrace full of diners and drinkers, enjoying the perfect spot for sundowners and watching the world go by.

Delighted to be seated on a nice round table (as requested) in a quiet corner so the eight of us could easily chat to one another. Service & food was all very good, we got everything we requested with no errors. Such a great ambience to entertain visitors to the area.

What a fabulous way to have dinner in a Friday night. Brilliant atmosphere, fabulous attentive and friendly staff and high class food. All washed down with a top choice of beer and wine .

Lovely food but service was slow as a big party was in the main restaurant…having said that it did not impact our experience.

Delicious meal seated in a little courtyard in the middle of the pub. The staff were friendly and welcoming and looked after us beautifully. Thank you!

One of the loveliest pubs we’ve ever been too. Sunday roast was amazing. And it’s got lots of space for each table so you aren’t crammed in like a lot of pubs. It’s also a beautiful building and village. The staff were really helpful too.

Excellent food overall. Slightly, but only slightly disappointed by the fish and chips, but never have high expectations of that anywhere. All the other food was really good and well presented. No issues at all. Friendly staff and atmosphere which made the experience even more pleasant.

Chidfingfold is the most beautiful village. The Crown Inn is a beautiful old Inn with great architecture and super friendly staff, delicious food. I would love to visit more frequently!

We had a lovely Sunday lunch in the restaurant- which is stunning. The food was excellent and the service friendly and attentive. The ambiance is a key part of the experience and this was difficult at first because of three very young children screaming and running around the restaurant- I wonder if the area just outside the restaurant might be a better place for a very young family? Otherwise this was an excellent and very pleasurable lunch. Thank you
