Food just OK...use to be better

Last minute booking for Valentine's Day so didn't know what to expect. Everything was awesome. Our waitress was super friendly and the entire staff had it altogether for such a busy night. I had the chicken marsala, my husband had the seabass and kids ravioletti. ❤️ It was all fantastic! We ended the evening with wine and tiramisu. I highly recommend this place. Will definitely go again. 😊

Cucina Alessa is my husband's and my go-to for special occasions or just to treat ourselves for a romantic night out. The food is phenomenal, servers always more than accommodating, and the ambience is lovely. We also love that they offer many good wines at affordable prices.

I was disappointed in my dining experience here. Upon being seated, my friend and I were told that due to “demand” they were limiting the tables to an hour and a half. Note, there were several vacant tables upon arriving and vacant tables as we dined. It was a rushed experience. When my friend took her last bite, the waiter immediately came to ask if she was done. I’d understand the time limit if the place was packed, but it wasn’t. Also, I asked if I had time to eat dessert to give a hint that we felt like we were on the clock. I was disappointed. I also didn’t see the tables next to us get the level of attention we did. I don’t get it. Even at the busiest restaurants I’ve been to, this wasn’t a pleasant experience. I’d give the food a 6. I’m not sure if it was my experience that made me not enjoy my food to be honest.

Authentic food and personnel at Cucina Alessa Huntington Beach. They helped us with choices for the kids and we had excellent meals. Looking forward to next time saving room for dessert.

6:30 p.m. Dinner on a Saturday for four. Got seated right away and ordered a bottle of wine. Ordered our four meals at about 7:00 p.m. The food hadn't delivered by 8:15 p.m., even after we complained to the hostess and a waiter. Our waiter apologized and said it was due to the kitchen. The restaurant didn't appear to be very busy. At 8:20 p.m. my angel hair with meatballs delivered hot and was very good. The pizza was cold and did not taste good...it was sent back to the kitchen. Two seafood dishes arrived 5 minutes later...one cold and one warm. The restaurant gave us two free desserts, but we won't be going back for a long time...when our memories forget what happened.

Social distancing of tables of was not followed and we felt very uncomfortable dining last Saturday night. Twice we pointed out to a server and a manager the problem. They finally relocated a table near us but overall things appeared much tighter than they should have been.

As usual the food was very good. Our server was not attentive and took away from the good meal.

I realize the restaurants are hurting but everyone's safety should be factored in.

The BEST Italian food you can find. Always tastes great, you can see the quality in the food. There is no where else to go for Italian food!

Nice time with good food

First time to the HB location. Josh our server could not have been better. He had great suggestions and the food came out hot and spaced well between courses. Wine suggestion was fantastic. Looking forward to riding bikes down very soon again.

Service is great, food could be slightly improved. I loved the burrata at the beginning of the meal and the bread was amazing. The pastas that we ordered were bland, unfortunately. Portion size was great but flavor-wise was lacking in salt. Would give this place a try again, maybe they forgot to salt the water.

We really liked that we had a good distance between tables. It used to be so loud & the acoustics made it difficult to hear. Happy that it was an enjoyable dining experience.

Just a great place to have dinner on a balmy evening in Huntington Beach. Sidewalk table was perfect just a couple of blocks above the Main Street Zany Zone. Service and friendliness was unparalled, food terrific as always. Neighborhood gem for sure.

We came here for our 30th anniversary. Our server Josh was absolutely amazing. Best server we’ve had in years anywhere! Food was incredible!

Had the Lobster Ravioli and the Chicken Saltimbocca--both flavorful. Would probably substitute pasta for the potatoes that came with the chicken because I think pasta would be a better fit. Had a Cesar salad beforehand --nice and crisp but the dressing had little taste (probably should have asked for more on the side).

Absolutely wonderful dining experience. It was a very special evening and couldn’t have been more pleased.

We always like Cucina Alessa. We are frequent guests of theirs, as their food is tasty and pretty authentic. The salad we got this time was exceptional:
We ordered the HEIRLOOM BURRATA to split before the main meal. It consists of
Heirloom tomatoes carpaccio, arugula, Castelvetrano olives, fresh Burrata.
The thin-ness of the tomato slices was amazing...you would have to have a terribly sharp knife and no fingers, to be able to do this at home. It was a conversation piece.

I did not give five stars to the service or the atmosphere, because, due to the COVID and the abrupt opening of restaurants, they looked poorly staffed and the kitchen felt like they were waaaay behind. We had to wait quite a bit for each plate to be served...we actually ran out of conversation (LOL) between us, while waiting. We felt it was not any one person's fault, just the whole COVID phenomenon of help having been laid off, then not wanting to get back to work because they are collecting unemployment, and not enought help to restart the desperately flailing restaurant industry. We can sympathize with that because our businesses are failing as well...we are all in the same boat, so might as well enjoy what's left of life.

I recommend this restaurant. Just go with a lot of time, and patience, on your hands.
