Ottima cena con servizio accurato e preciso
Very accommodating as part of our party was late and they managed to rearrange for us. Food was good and reasonably priced. We were catching up and the staff did not pressure us to eat and leave. Great location for the south bank.
I felt that there wasn't much value for money. The salads were tasty but small in size for the price paid.
This is a sandwich bar not a restaurant as described. The booking was fir 8pm, they closed at 9h30pm
Food ok but very worn out decor and furnishings. Expensive for what is provided.
Very mediocre food, service poor. Very expensive for what it was. Poor facilities too.
The food was ok. It came very quick. Only just finished my starter and my main course was there. They hadn't even cleared away the starters plate. The toilet facilities in this place needs looking into it was unclean and smelt like it hadnt been cleaned for a while.
Excellent fare served by helpful, efficient staff. Good value
Food ok, overpriced for what you Get, tables sticky with dirt, furnishings grotty
Food was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Only downside was the seating could have done with a refurbishment as the covers were falling apart but that didn't spoil the occasion.
We stopped here to get take away for the night. Food was quick, was able to have beer while waiting.
Booked Cucina through Open Table, was half an hour early but staff happy to seat us.
Starters and mains were tasty, we had ravioli and lasagne.
Decent bottle of wine.
Waitresses were friendly, plenty of customers inside and out so good atmosphere.
I was there a total of 15 minutes. Sat at a table straight away, though the table had not been wiped down, and wasn’t during my visit. Covered in food and salt from previous diners.
Food was great, really delicious spaghetti bolognese and came very quickly, ideal for when going to a theatre show afterwards.
Many flies in the restaurant. Had to ask for cutlery. Asked for tap water and never received it.
It would take a lot of convincing to eat here again
Cuchina gets a mixed review from me. The food was fantastic, the price was great, the service was very friendly and the location wonderful.
We ordered our food, and when it came my meal had been forgotten. They apologised and said it would be 3-4 minutes. My food didn't come for another 15-20 minutes by which time my colleague and client had finished their food.
The staff were very apologetic, offered me a free beer and removed the cost of my meal from the menu (without me complaining or showing any annoyance) so they really made the effort to make up for it.
When we were trying to get the bill, it took a very long time to get anyone's attention. It's a lovely restaurant with great food at a great price, but I believe they might just be quite disorganised.
All in all a positive review
Nothing to review. Booked through Open Table. We arrived for breakfast on time to see a sign saying it was open, but the door was locked and all the chairs were on the tables. It was dark. It is the last establishment in the building and there was a man standing my the dumpsters looking at us at the door, but made no attempt to interact. May not have been staff. After 15 minutes and still no signs of life, we left. Also, no follow up from open table. When looking for another breakfast place the next day, we checked the site to see if we misread hour and saw the opportunity for review. I guess calling ahead would help, but then what would be the use of using Open Table.
Quite a disappointing experience. The restaurant has a strong pungent smell of the “sheeshah” cafe next door and the only Italian thing about this restaurant is a Godfather poster on the wall.
The food was average.
A nicely decorated restaurant. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We were pre theatre diners and the staff made sure we were served promptly. One criticism would be that the pizzas were on the small side and not that filling. I enjoyed my halloumi salad which could also have been a bit bigger.
Staff very helpful and a good value for money menu. Have made a group booking for later in the year
The restaurant looked nice from the outside and reviews so decided to choose this over the multitude of other Italian restaurants nearby. The service was average, only came to the table to take a single order and clear the table. There were nice check backs to see how our food was. Sharing starter was very nice and perfect for two. My ladies salad was nice but very simple, not much flavour. The steak I had was cooked perfectly to how I ordered (medium rare) but lacked any flavour. The devour is nice and feel good the restearunt is very enjoyable. Hoping this was a one off.
This place was a sad disaster of a restaurant... from half of the menu being unavailable, to serving flat soda that was obviously very old in the cans, to all three dishes we ordered looking like a plate of under Cooke noodles and watery sauce. The service was fine but you could tell they really didn’t care much what was going on. When I asked them to make sure to check us in on open table they proceeded to bring over the owners cell phone and show me that if they clicked check in they would be charged for the reservation. Ugh. But back to our food. We had to go to McDonald’s after to finish having dinner as the flavors and quality was so poor. And the sad thing was they seemed to be very proud of the garbage they were serving. Just sad.
We should have a nice dinner New Year's Eve. When we arrived we were given 1 hour to order, eat and out the door. We had thought we should enjoy a bottle of wine and have dessert. It was a bad experience for the start of a New Year's Eve when we had to stand in the cold and wait 3 hours at the fireworks.
Minestrone soup was tepid and watery . Pasta dishes were warm and tasteless
Very good service as we went in for pre-theatre meal (not a pre-theate restaurant) and managed to be served 2 courses within the hour easily. We were told which meals NOT to order due to length of cooking time.
Enjoyed the decor. The food was very good. We would dine there again.
The bathroom was tiny, Uni-sex and was always busy.
Excellent place. Good value. Decent food and not too expensive
My children's pizzas were a bit soggy in the middle & burnt at the edges, and so one of them left most of hers - the waiter didn't ask why. The starter of humus was generous, but there wasn't enough pitta bread to go with it - we asked for some more, which arrived with our main meal. Service was friendly but not completely competent. No decaff tea available, which I would expect to be available in a central London restaurant/tourist location. Pretty average as an experience.
Would definitely eat here again on next trip to London ,we stayed at the Marriott and this place is right behind it. Food was good and the people that work there were all very nice
We went to La Cuchina after seeing Witness for the Prosecution at the London County Hall across the street. I booked it for its convenience, and it certainly was that. We had some problems with our order--twice having ordered two of the same dishes, and twice having only one delivered, despite there being 4 people. They eventually served the second dishes, but it was a bit frustrating as we were all eating at different times while the others looked on. The food was good. I had a taster plate which was fine.
What a find! Having been in Sicily in the summer, this was a close match for the relaxed ambience, attentive service and fabulous food that we experienced there. We were spoilt for choice on all three courses ...we'll have to go back and try some more. We were going to a show at County Hall, so the restaurant was handy for that and not too far from Waterloo either.
This is the second time we have been at this rstaurant. We thought to give them a second chance. Our service was fine but nothing else was outstanding. A casual, place for a quick meal.
Went for an early evening (pre theatre) meal. Good selection of Italian food. Quite nice restaurant with an option of sitting outside. Considering its location it offers very good value. All the food that we had was very good.
Really enjoyed the meal, choice and atmosphere when we finally found the place. The problem was that the address was not much help to us as that area of London does not have straight forward numbering like an ordinary High Rd. A bit of help in the form of 'next to' 'opposite from' 'to the left/right of' would have been particularly useful especially as there are so many landmarks in that area to use.
We went with a 17 month old toddler and the manager and our waiter were very nice and patient. Super friendly service and good food as well!
Pleasant enough..bit noisy but OK. Not particularly exciting but food was fine and service very kind and pleasant. good workaday Italian fare atvreasonable prces.. Nothing much else to say.
Food was good and hearty, just what I was looking for, but nothing out of the ordinary. The dessert was definitely the highlight! The tiramisu was absolutely delicious! The only drawback was it took 20 minutes for anyone to ask us if we wanted dessert. Thankfully it was well worth the wait.
Waiters a little chaotic (waiters never seemed to know which table the order was going to) but all very friendly, nice atmosphere, good food (menu a little limited), and good wine. Very convenient spot and a pleasant evening.
I really like this restaurant. This was the second visit during a trip to London and was a great place to stop and recharge and enjoy a lovely lunch. The staff are very nice. There is a good selection of food on the menu and it is well priced. Will visit again next time I visit the Southbank!
Just as I had hoped great food and choice, good service good value.
If you like warm white wine, tepid soft drinks, rude staff and an hour's wait between starters and main course then go to this restaurant. Otherwise steer well clear!!!
