I was very disappointed by the extremely poor service. Was my first dinner date with the girl I am seeing and was so let down.
Well made food at reasonable prices. Service was very good. Relazed atmosphere, not over pretentious
Top quality and presentation, generous portions, always consistent. No better italian in the region for me.
We have been using Cuchina Rustica for many years now and it seems to have lost the intimacy it had originally. I had a fillet steak & hubby the medalions wrapped in parma ham. The meat was excellent quality & cooked to perfection however we both found it salty which spoiled it a little. The other bug bear was the noise which is a problem with many restaurants these days. Tiled floors & very little in the way of soft furnishings make for an echo in the surroundings.
Very nice , food very good, service very good.
A genuinely lovely evening service was especially superb and food beautifully cooked. Cannot recommend highly enough for a proper Italian meal.
Food was nice, service was amazing and value was excellent. Didn’t really like the ambience.
Service was great, my wifes custom pizza was exactly as ordered. Really happy with the service and will come back again and again!
The restaurant is in a nice position close to St Paul's square and not far from The Jewellery Quarter. The restaurant is nicely decorated and there is a good choice on the menu. Service was quick and the food was nice. My crab linguine pasta was lacking in crab but the flavour was very good. I asked the waiter for another Peroni and got a Moretti but not really a problem, I just had it and said nothing. I Shared a margherita pizza for starter which was very tasty. The pudding I chose was orange and grand marnier creme brulee, this was very runny definitely undercooked but it tasted beautiful. I could have ate another one. All in all it was a nice evening and I would go back again, just a few niggles to sort out.The place has competition aswell from Pasta di Piazza which is only a 5 minute walk away.
Brilliant service, the restuarant has been set up so social distancing is in effect. Lovely food and environment, we will be visiting again soon!
I ordered my main, which I wasn't fond of.
I spoke to who I thought was the manager ( he was the owner) and he had a pasta dish made to my liking.
Brilliant service. In fact I am going again. Twice in one week. 😋😋
Would highly recommend
Booked on OpenTable which was quick and easy. The food was fantastic, and the fact they have extended the Eat Out to Help Out offer into September made it phenomenally good value. Well done!
Booked for 8:30. Arrived at 8:25. Seated at 9:10... 40mins after reservation due. I am only pointing this out because the restaurant takes your card details when booking and expects you to give at least 24hours for cancellations.
Starters: Poor 1/5
Mains: Great 4/5
Dessert: Good 3/5
Service was not pleasant although we received everything on time once we were seated. Advised we must order all food together and that we could not order starters first and mains afterwards. Too quick to take your plate... on 3 different occasions the waiter what felt like ‘pounced’ to take our plate.
Would I recommend? ... probably yes.
Would I go on a Saturday night again? ... Absolutely not. It does not look like they can cater/accommodate when it is a full house
It was our first time here and we can’t wait to come back! The service was superb, our waiter was friendly & professional. The meal was excellent and the ambience just perfect. We had a wonderful evening! Thank you Cucina Rustica! See you soon!
Lovely food and staff, will be back again !
Excellent food and good service. Was very impressed with the distance between the tables. Easy to social distance. Hand sanitising stations throughout including outside the toilet. Would definitely recommend.
It’s a bit weird eating out in the current climate. I imagine in previous times this place would have been bustling at lunchtime in a Friday. Our visit, we were virtually the only people there.
The service, drinks, and food were all good. Not great, but good. The atmosphere was slightly weird but not unpleasant.
Food gorgeous in a lovely restaurant!
Visited on a Tuesday night so not too busy or noisy.
Wonderful food and wine. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
Been here a number of times at different times of the day always good food and keep coming back 😁
Myself and husband came here. The food was really nice even though what I originally ordered had ran out (we went on the eat out to help out scheme) staff were nice and polite. Will be coming back again.
The food was amazing, really big portions too! Our waiter was very friendly and professional. Will definitely be returning.
All staff were wearing face coverings.
Lamb shank was burnt on the outside. Lamb shank needed some type of veg to accompany not just lamb shank mashed potato and gravy
Was very busy even before 6pm which I assume it is was because of EOHO scheme. Ordered two pasta dishes and one pizza to share and it was very nice and was better than expected. Service was prompt and friendly but staff were more like on patrol where they walked past your table on a frequent basis therefore couldn't be as relaxed as it should. The environment was lively and a bit noisy for my liking but this got less as many of the diners had left. Overall, I will return as the food was very nice
Ended up leaving before our order was taken as it was taking so long for someone to come to us and even take a drinks order... we waiting over half and hour and the restaurant was quite quiet. Poor service, would not go again.
Excellent waiter, absolutely delicious food!! The starter could have been our main course!!!! It was my husband’s birthday and they even got him a mini cake with a candle - excellent food and service!!!
Perfect all round. Great service and food. Shame we didn't get our waiter's name because he was exceptional! Would definitely go back again
Very clean and well organised due to Covid.
Staff were all attentive and friendly,
Food was lovely we will be back!
Felt like an all inclusive restaurant, just wanted us in and out as quickly as possible. Food was ok but not sure it deserves the 4/5 star reviews
Been using this restaurant for a while. Fantastic food fantastic staff. Worth a visit.
Restaurant was extremely cold - apart from that everything was very good and the food as always was fantastic
Ordered aubergine and calamari. Prawns were bought !!!
Crab linguine- heavy / stodgy
Pizza - under cooked
No desert. Fed up. It was a birthday lunch with my son
Sad because I had eaten the week before and it was excellent. Good hot and tasty. Staff so efficient
On Friday the staff looked depressed .. like it was an effort. Surely if you are serving a starter like aubergine a slice of bread would be a good thought ! Something to dip in the sauce .. presentation was not up to standard. Sorry to say this cause I have had some very good food here
Fantastic food and great looking menu. The service was ok and could have been better considering there was only a few tables actually seated in the restaurant. It was a shame that they didn’t have my favourite dessert as it was sold out perhaps due to busyness from the eat out to help out on the previous 3 nights. I would recommend Cucina Rustica for the food alone!
Very wet and damp midweek probably not the best day to visit in current times. The restaurant was almost empty and it was very chilly we had to ask for a table in a warmer place. However the food was divine we so enjoyed the wonderful flavours. I had Gnocchi with walnuts and spinach in a Gorgonzola sauce, my friend had crab linguine both delicious. I couldn’t resist an Affogato which was excellent. We will most definitely return here.
First waiter wasn’t the best -2nd was very attentive
All I can say it’s the best food I have had and great friendly service Period!
I enjoyed meal-wine expensive- happy to pay on 50% offer-not sure about full price-perhaps occasional visit
Great atmosphere, tasty starters and main. Really enjoyed the food. However it was meant to be 50% off fo the eat out to help out. After we left, I calculated that we paid more than we should have.
Fabtastic restaurant, food amazing as usual. Took my friend for her first experience and she loved it.
Went to Cucina Rusrica with a friend for lunch. Was very quiet which wasnt an issue. I should have gone for a pasta dish but decided to have lamb shank. For £19 it was not good value. Was average at best and the lamb had little meat and an lot of fat. A bit of mash and a uninspiring sauce no veg as they were extra.. Not a terrible meal but forgettable and just mediocre. My fiend had pasta and looked a lot better than my meal
Would go again as it's a nice setting and stick to pasta
