My wife and I dined at Umbria on a Friday night at 7:30. We chose this time to avoid the Celtics crowd of a 7:30 game. We arrive 30 minutes early and were led to a table on the second floor without hesitation. Ken was the lone server on that floor. He did a wonderful job. He was an experienced and highly educated (ask him about his resume), very kind man that was an amazing addition to a great evening. Our martinis were delicious , salads were so well dressed (didn’t skimp on dressing), and our entrees were hot and well prepared. For dessert we order the “best espresso martinis in Boston.” CAUTION: They were pretty bad. I presume they were once the best but now it is clear they are premixed. That was unfortunate. But, we will definitely be back!

delicious food and wonderful servers. we tried oysters for the first time & our waiter explained it very well and helped us choose. our drinks and entrees were also very good. i ordered the table side cacio e pepe and it was not a crazy spectacle which i appreciated. the food came quickly. my only complaint was the football game they had playing? felt a bit odd for a saturday evening. especially when everything was so polished, it did feel out of place. but overall, still a great experience

We had a great experience. The service was top notch and the food was delicious. We ordered pizza and tiramisu for dessert and my wife and I agreed that both were outstanding!

I was standing outside the restaurant about 30 minutes prior to opening because I was early traveling down from Maine. It was a cold breezy day. A few minutes later it’s very nice. Manager came to the door and offered me to come stand inside. I went in and then she said well I can sit at your table if you’d like I said thank you that would be great, then she and offered me coffee, tea or water prior to opening, I said I was good. Then our server came over and offered beverages I said I was good , then she was kind of brought me water anyway. Our server was great today. She’s very pleasant very accommodating. I had a bouquet of flowers for my lunch guest. The server brought over a container, but the flowers could sit in while we’re enjoying our meal. Service was outstanding!!!!

Our server and all of the staff were thorough and kind throughout our service. One diner had a very limited diet, making ordering off the menu difficult. Everyone was patient and kind and provided all of the options -- which was above and beyond our expectations. Everyone enjoyed their food, the sausage and lentils, branzino, and bolognese were some of our highlights! We always enjoy our dinners at Faccia a Faccia.
