This restaurant has become our favorite neighborhood haunt. Being a recent convert to Indian cuisine, the food is exceptional! The service is wonderfully professional - everyone is so eager to serve and the ambiance is perfect with exquisite Indian music quietly in the background.
The food was delicious and expertly prepared. What I especially appreciated was that it was not oily. They have lots of vegetarian options and we enjoyed trying some of the Nepalese style dishes. We had the vegetable momo dumplings, black dal, coco rice, salt lassi, naan and carrot halwa. Everything was wonderful. The service was efficient and polite. We were there on a Saturday night and it was not crowded or noisy. We would definitely go back there.
Chakra explores the interplay between Thai and Indian culinary traditions that has produced a gastronomic symphony which delights the senses and reflects the historical connections between these two regions.Lesser known in the world of Thai cuisine are the dishes with direct Indian influence that began to emerge within the culture centuries ago. While Indian influence in Thailand began during the 3rd century B.C. with the arrival of Buddhism, the apex of culinary influence occurred starting in the late 13th century during the Sukhothai period. During that time the spice trade flourished and the Thai royal court hosted Indian expertise of multiple disciplines including the culinary arts. Our Thai curry dishes at Chakra are iterations on recipes that were developed during that time period hundreds of years ago. We invite you to enjoy the warm melody of spices our dishes offer, in our tranquil dining atmosphere featuring meditative music and warm, melo lighting.
First time at Saar and it lived up to the excellent reviews and exceeded our expectations. The Rogan Josh, Butter Chicken and Tandoori Tiger Shrimp were all delicious as was the Begun Bharta appetizer. The breads and biryani were spot on, too. Most surprising, however, was the Mango Sri Khand desert - imagine a mango lassi mousse - maybe not life changing, but will be remembered for a long time. Superb experience.
