Only thing that was a bit odd…..we had reservations but were told to stand by the door and wait. Parties that came in after us were seated, while we waited 10 minutes. What was the point of making the reservation?

This is an OUTSTANDING seafood restaurant based on the food, the service and the ambience. The food is consistently top tier as is the service. There is a fish market counter in the very front of the restaurant so you are able to pick your seafood; having been to Blacksalt a number of times now, the seafood is always fresh as you will find. The bar area in the front is lively without being loud; the dining room in the back is quiet - so you can pick your preferred area. Give this restaurant an opportunity, I know you’ll be back!

As usual, the food was excellent. My wife had the Grilled Salmon and I had the Curried Shrimp entrees and my wife had the chocolate chip cookies with a scoop of ice cream. Jenny provided us outstanding service and a great personality.

We made a reservation for a business lunch meal (no wines for us today). Ordered the Wood Grilled Shrimp and Blistered Shishito Peppers to share for appetizers. They were equally delicious and perfectly cooked. The roasted corn, tomato and pepper medley served with the Wood Grilled Shrimp was good enough to serve alone as a side dish. We had the Shrimp and Avocado salad and lunch duo: Mushroom and Bacon personal pizza and half house salad. All of our food was delicious and presented nicely. More importantly, Justin, our server was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Prices were quite reasonable for downtown DC. All in all, a great experience! We'll be back!

This was a business team dinner. Everything went as it should. Food was prepared as anticipated and was delicious. We were served by Andrew who did a phenomenal job, he provided recommendations as requested and really demonstrated knowledge of the menu. It was a great time! We made an excellent choice in deciding to go to Founding Farmers on Mass Ave.

One of my favorite places for Saturday or Sunday brunch. Great food, atmosphere, a little R&B music or old school hip-hop while you dine. Two levels to dine on, upstairs and downstairs with bar on each level. Awesome place!!!
