We returned to Twenty Nine to experience an intimate dinner for our family (children returning home from college for Thanksgiving). Having the entire counter for ourselves was a treat in itself, and Chef Zack took us on a wonderful culinary journey! The fact that menu and fish selection changes daily while maintaining their commitment to showcase the local vegetables and the best fish flown in from Japan set them apart from everyone else in DC. Our dinner was awesome, with some of the highlights being Lomi Salmon, assorted Toro selection and more. The dinner was capped off with a tea and persimmon shaved ice dessert, which was one of the very best desserts I’ve ever had. Can’t wait til they open their actual restaurant in Spring 24.
