We have been to Bouchon Hexham 10-12 times and NEVER been disappointed. Food is always top notch and very well presented The owner, Greg, is always courteous and helpful as are all the staff. The restaurant itself is beautifully furnished and immaculate with just the right ambience and with a low noise level that one can hold a pleasant conversation with fellow diners. Don't hesitate to book.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meals: peach and lentil salad and Camembert were both superb starters. The fish stew main was excellent as was the steak-frites. We enjoyed a carafe of house white. Our waitress, Alex was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. She was efficient and very cheerful! We were seated upstairs which was pleasant but not quite as atmospheric as the restaurant downstairs.

Another visit to this super restaurant. We were big fans of the Townhouse and were saddened when it closed. We were delighted however, when Florin took over the Courtyard. I can’t fault anything about this lovely restaurant. The food and service are exceptional, the ambience is informal, relaxed but dignified. I’m mainly pescatarian and try to eat a plant based diet. There are always plenty of choices on the menu, which is changed seasonally, there are a selection of specials too. Everything I’ve tried was cooked to perfection and delicious. That’s why we keep coming back as a couple and with friends who are also full of praise for this wonderful restaurant.

The most incredible 'pub classic' - the fish and chips was amazing. The building is amazing and the different vibes throughout is amazing! Service was great. Food out of this world

We went for lunch on Saturday myself & a friend. They had a wedding happening at the same time, so it was quite noisy, but that was fine by us, you would expect that. The young lady who served us was brilliant. She was under a lot of pressure what with wedding guests & diners, but she coped beautifully. A lovely setting, lovely food, and we were well taken care of by our waitress .
