I had not been to The Red Lion in a while and made definite plans when I saw them on this year’s HRW. Used to go quite often for happy hour when I worked in Greenway Plaza. I grabbed a friend who had never been and off we went! The HRW menu was a great representation of The Red Lion’s specialties. I chose the Vegetable Samosa to start (spicy afterburn!). My friend chose the Punjabi Egg Rolls, which were a definite winner. We both selected The Chicken Tikka for our main - excellent snd a very generous portion. To end our meal, I selected the Bread Pudding (no one does bread pudding like The Red Lion!). My friend chose the Apple Blackberry Crumble which she pronounced “scrumptious”. Of course, I had to have a couple of Blacksmiths to wash it all down. Great selection of draught beer served in Imperial pints, thank you very much! Service was very attentive, food was wonderful, love the pub ambiance. I need to start coming back here on a regular basis!

We wanted a high tea experience where 2 ladies could enjoy the food, tea and great conversation. This is a lovely tea room, great parking and so relaxing. We had a wonderful time and I have already booked again to bring a group of friends together for a lovely experience!

This was a first time visit. Everyone had Chicken Tikka Marsala which the restaurant on their menu described a the favorite of the British. It was really good. We had white rice with it which was very thin and fluffy and very good. It was a different kind of rice than we usually see in Texas or Louisiana because it went really well with the dish. We had Tandoori Naan to complete and it was fresh and hot. The prices were very reasonable. Our young waitress was very attentive and helpful without hovering or being annoying. On the nights when the mood for a curry overtakes me...this is a good place to go.
