Best Cocktail Bars in Charleswood

What an amazing experience at Gather this evening. My wife and I made a trip to Winnipeg to enjoy our last holiday of the summer. We spent the entire day at Assiniboine Park touring the zoo, The Leaf, and all the other sights the park has to offer. We ended our day with a meal at Gather and it was a 5 star+ experience. Our server Tonya was delightful. We aren’t used to high end dining, but she made us feel welcomed and right at home. That woman deserves a raise. We started with a delicious leaf lager and a grapefruit cocktail that was so good my wife had 2 (she’s not even a drinker). We shared 2 small plates; the ever so tasty brioche and one of the best dishes I’ve ever tasted, the beef tartare. I could write an entire review about how good the tartare was. Next time I’m going to order 2 as my main. Perfection. Our mains were the grilled pork steak and the pickerel. We shared our dishes because they were too good to keep to ourselves. So hard to pick a favourite, they were both bursting with flavor and creativity. You could taste the care that went into these recipes. Bravo guys and gals at Gather. One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had in this life. Thank you so much for such a special and memorable time.

The food, the vibes, the service were all five stars. My husband and I went for our anniversary and we split three appetizers (calamari, mozza sticks, and shrimp au gratin) and the steak frites. Portions were quite generous and we definitely ordered way too much but don't regret it at all. Every bite was filled with so much flavour and we had a difficult time deciding which dish was our favourite. The Espresso martini was excellent and the You Had Me at Vanilla cocktail was also delicious but quite vodka forward which may not be for everyone but I really enjoyed it. Our server was Mathew and he was top notch. Efficient, funny, personable, and really elevated our experience. The vibes are somehow laid back and elegant at the same time. We already can't wait to go back!

Had the mushroom Tortillini and taste was excellent. Portion size was good for lunch.

Really lovely patio! Was great to sit outside, relax and enjoy a cocktail. The carpaccio was amazing! The live jazz was an added bonus!
