Best Contemporary British Restaurants in York

We went out anniversary dinner and it met all our expectations. The food was amazing, the ambience was really good. Our server was really nice too. They made our anniversary special. Highly recommend this place.

Ok… so this was my first time at this neighborhood gem and the food, service and cocktails were amazing! The ambience and music choices made me smile. I WILL be back! Thanks Bramble team - well done!

Came here with friends for a pre-TIFF bite. We left planning to return again next year... or much sooner! We came between lunch and dinner and the bites menu was extensive. We ordered the calamari (my friend tells me it was top notch!) pakoras (delicious green chutney) halloumi fries (fried to perfection and crispy without being oily while allowing the cheese to be just the right amount of gooey in the centre) and a large caeser salad to share, which was gone much faster than any salad I've seen shared. Amongst us we ordered the Blushing Bunny, the Pimm's Cup and the house wine. $10 wines and $12 cocktails for happy hour!? Wild! All were beautifully presented and delicious. Service was impeccable. Water was always filled, and any requests we made (bacon on the side, an extra glass of ice etc) were immediately listened to and fulfilled. Thanks to the whole front and back of house team!
