Best Contemporary Mexican Restaurants in Gilroy

We had not been to this Pedro’s since it was remodeled. It’s clean, neat, light and bright. We enjoyed our “ladies lunch” very much.

Pedro's has been around for a hot minute or three, but my most recent visit felt like there had been a quiet upgrade for both food and service. The tableside prep of fresh guacamole was a surprise and did not disappoint! Then, the chef came out of clarify food allergy info before preparing our food. Everything about the food was better than I remembered it, and I have been there countless times over the years. So, if you haven't given Pedro's a try in a while, now might be a good time. That patio has always been a lovely alfresco dining experience!

Solid Mexican restaurant for margaritas (classico & guava). The guava margarita has jalapenos so don't be fooled, it has some kick! Menu is robust with lots of options depending on what your appetite looks like. Starting with chips & salsa--salsa is homemade. Salsa verde looks tame, but has a lot of post-bite fire. the chipotle is very smokey and provides a nice balance against the verde. I went there for the queso fundido and it did not disappoint. I will say that it wasn't as oily as others that I've had... I'm not sure how I feel about it. The creaminess and flavor of the cheese was great, but I do like having that liquid oil on top..... good amount of chorizo. The cheese quesadilla was great---well-proportioned, fresh guac, nice to have the sour cream on the side. The Camarones Xochitl was also delicious--looks benign, but has a mild kick afterwards. Service was attentive, polite, helpful. Endless supply of chips + salsa. Friendly. Thank you!

Outstanding Mexican Food in a great atmosphere. We went on Sunday and they always have a Live Mariachi which made for a very festive atmosphere. The waitress service is very good. They are attentive and really want to make people feel good and taken care of. It will be better if they can coordinate the drinks with the food better. We went through appetizers and part of the entrees before we got our drinks, which we had ordered way before all the food.
