Quality ingredients put to good effect. At the more formal Charlton House Restaurant our talented chefs invite you to sit down and taste the very best Somerset has to offer. Salmon fresh out the Severn and lamb reared amongst the Mendip Hills is certain to impress. We leave it to good quality, locally sourced ingredients to elevate the flavour profile of our bistro menu.

Hotel grounds are magnificent. The ambience is good. Quite a lot of the hotel guests were dressed in white gowns, I assume coming back from the spa. It was a bit weird seeing them walk behind us but it was also fine and amusing at the same time. It took an exceptionally long time to get served. Can only put that down to poor staffing or poor management of staff. The waitress was very good once we ordered and all the food was served promptly afterwards with a nice space in between each meal. The wines were very good. There were a lot of flies in the hotel and in fact a hornet landed on me. Thankfully it flew away. Not sure what you can do on such a hot day. Overall a good experience and I would definitely come again but plenty of room for improvement. Food was excellent by the way.
