Best Gastro Pubs in Clinton

My partner and I were craving hamburgers on a beautiful summer evening, so we looked forward to sitting in the lovely garden at Sag Harboe Tavern. The burgers were fabulous — thick and very tasty — with their own secret mixture; I tried to get the recipe — lol. The cottage fries weren't crispy enough. They had an odd texture and flavor. They could definitely be improved upon. The service was excellent, and the ambiance is always so vibrant, yet serene. Always love dining at Sag Harbor Tavern. Thank you!

You just can’t go wrong with this restaurant. We have had everything from private events, simple pub food and gourmet meals here and it’s always just terrific. Theresa took great care of us and made a wedding anniversary dinner perfect. She and all the staff are really amazing. The food is always great. If you haven’t tried the brunch yet- you are missing out. Then, to top it off, the view is spectacular. This is just a super well run restaurant at a beautiful golf course. The management and all the staff really do a great job here.

My wife and I had a date night and went to Republic Gastropub-- our first time going there. The service was prompt and very friendly, but never felt rushed. The food was outstanding. Their take on the calamari appetizer was a refreshing and superb change, with the rings being perfectly cooked and tender, not chewy. My wife's bacon-wrapped dates appetizer was also succulent. My Kobe smashburger featured a generous patty cooked to perfection. My wife's beef stroganoff was a huge hit. My only complaint is that the metal chairs around the dining tables are rather uncomfortable after more than 30 minutes of sitting. They have booths with padded & upholstered benches.

We had waitstaff who were very attentive and on top of everything! The meals were delicious! There were 8 of us, and all the plates were clean. I would highly recommend.

Came to Mezzo with a group of friends to watch a World Cup game and had a great experience. The atmosphere was awesome, the crowd was into the match, and there wasn’t a bad seat in the house. The food really impressed me. I got the Steak Frites and it was cooked perfectly. The burgers at our table looked incredible too, even though I didn’t get a chance to try one. It’s exactly the kind of elevated bar food you hope to find but rarely do. Great service, great drinks, and a perfect spot to watch a big game. We’ll definitely be back!!
