- NNataschaGoldLondon •21 reviews4.0Dined on 17 Aug 2026I had a wonderful meal and would highly recommend. As part of stay I had opted for the Gourmet Getaway which meant I could have the 5 course tasting menu which in fact I upgraded to the 8 course version plus having done some research actually added an additional course which was the foie gras. The experience did get off to a rocky start as I was sat for 30min before having seen a single crumb, however I'm pleased to say that is where any negative feedback stops. One of the things I loved about this menu was that there were a number of things included which habitually I don't like and yet how they were presented here I had my mind changed. For example as part of the canapés there was goat cheese and it was delicious. The trout mousse with salmon roe and the duck terrine were splendid. Once more another one in a similar vain, the divine savoy brioche but, with sheep’s cheese on top which was heartwarming and the butter with pine; pure joy. The turbot was delicious and I enjoyed discovering a different variety of samphire. Then there was a "herb dish" which I must confess I was not really jumping up and down with with excitement about yet, once more when it came: elderflower pearls with 5 herb granita, I did a quick 180 on my preconception, a yummy course akin to a palate cleanser. The Lamb, loin, sweetbread, red wine lamb jus, Roscoff, peas and mint was all sorts of cosy. The beef was flavorsome but perhaps a little tough, the accompanying beef boulangère pot oat bite was a treat and the potatoes I could eat bags off. Rhoda looked after me and was wonderful. I also very much appreciated the touch of the two of the chefs coming out with two of the courses and really did feel spoilt and blessed. I know this review is focused on my dinner but I would like to say a small word re breakfast where the formidable Eleanor was simply delightful. But no potato cakes/scones etc… Easting at George V was a triumph and a delight.More infoGeorge V at Ashford Castle€€€€• Irish• Cong•4.5
