Best Italian Restaurants in San Ysidro

Service was great! Food was great! Atmosphere was great! Would definitely come back here again, perfect for date night or dinner with friends. We ordered the beef carpaccio and it blew me away! The meat melted in your mouth and the light truffle sauce that it was dressed with was perfect with the cold freshness of the meat. The focaccia that the carpaccio came with was also a nice crunch addition. We also got the caprese salad which I liked but didn’t love, my partner really liked it. For our mains we got the pomodoro fresco pasta with the mafalde noodle and the pappardelle al brasato de manzo and can I just say…. Wow. I’m so happy that our waiter recommended the mafalde pasta shape to us, it held the sauce perfectly and was much more interesting than the other more common pastas I have had! The beef in the pappardelle pasta was braised beautifully and was just as good re-heated the next day! Lastly we finished off our meal with the table side de-constructed tiramisu. As tiramisu fanatics this one definitely made it to the top of our list, the lady fingers were light and airy while still having a nice bite and the mascarpone was perfectly sweetened. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant and will for sure be back!

absolutely AMAZING experience. probably one of the best restaurants i’ve been in a while. from the little note on the menu for my best friends 30th birthday to the view to the friendly staff. everything was phenomenal. we had one of the best tables which I had requested a table with a good view for birthday girl and they did not disappoint!! the food was absolutely delicious. an acquaintance had said it was mediocre but they lied!!! we had the garlic bread, meatballs, vodka pasta, pepperoni pizza, and verde di tartufo (my favorite). best garlic bread i’ve ever had. meatballs were delicious. pizza was very good. vodka sauce was some of my favorite i’ve had. and the verde di tartufo was an unexpected favorite. the mushroom sauce is soooo good. all around an amazing, delicious experience. the cocktails were very good too - not a drinker but my friends were throwing them back / raving about them. will hopefully be back some day!!

Barbusa is a fabulous restaurant. Everything on the menu is incredible. The service is top notch! You will not be disappointed if you visit!

What a great restaurant and a wonderful surprise! We went to see our friend Roman Palacios, who is an incredible performer, singer and all around lovely man! From the time we came in the door, the staff was friendly, attentive, professional, and did all they could to make sure that we had a comfortable table close to the live entertainment. The food was delicious and the service was very prompt. I highly recommend it.
