I am so happy that Goosefoot has reopened in a beautiful intimate new space in the heart of Lincoln Square. The food is even better, if that’s possible. Chris and Nina Nugent are true artists. My friend and I had the smaller Loosefoot menu which the restaurant described as less formal and “loosey-goosey.” The menu, which changes with the seasons, reflected the bounty of late summer produce. We started with a tiny foie grad tart in phyllo, followed by crab mousse and shrimp stuffed squash blossom, heirloom cherry tomato soup. tender filet of beef with aigre-Doux and parsnip purée with strawberry coulee and custard. We left with parting gifts of house made chocolate and paper dragons inspired by “Game of Thrones.” I’m already looking forward to going back and can’t wait to see what they dream up for the Fall.
