Great to come bacK! Hadn't been to Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba for at least ten years and boy are we glad we had dinner there last night. Everything was fabulous - friendly greeters, knowledgeable staff, delicious food, great ambience for a night out with friends. Favorites were the Peach Sangria, Beef tenderloin wth blue cheese, deviled eggs, Chicken thigh Piri Piri! I was especially appreciative that they easily accomodate food allergies and prompt service as we were heading to the Cubs game. We're definitely putting it on our dining rotation list when back in Chicago.

Our dining experience at Mercat a la Planxa was exceptional, characterized by high-quality tapas and prompt, efficient service. The grilled octopus ($23) was a highlight, it was very tender and perfectly cooked. The garlic shrimp dish ($20) featured five large shrimp served with crusty bread, while the corn fritters ($14) were flavorful and complemented by a spicy sauce. Additionally, the spinach salad ($17) offered a well-balanced profile of goat cheese, marcona almonds, fennel, and pomegranate in a balsamic dressing. We also enjoyed the red sangria ($14) and concluded our meal by sharing the homemade Basque cheesecake ($16), which featured an light and creamy texture served with fresh berries and crushed pistachios.

We love this place, great local café with fantastic coffee and delicious pastries and sandwiches. I honestly can say there isn't a bad item to order off the menu, everything is delicious. On friday and saturday they have a family-style spanish dinner that is to die for. You can't beat the great company and delicious food, the owner is very friendly.

This was our, my wife and my, first visit. We went on a Tuesday evening so parking was easy to find. Our dinner, service and cocktails were excellent. We had the jamon crowuettes, the octopus with gnocchi and the pork belly paella. I had the Adonis and my wife had the Daquiri cocktails. Our server was very helpful and we were not rushed through our three courses. I hsd a nice chat with the bartender on the way out. We will definitely return.
