I ate at Xica with my boyfriend on 9/12. It was sort of an impromptu deciding to go out and finding somewhere close deal so we landed here for the first time. First, it's a beautiful restaurant. The decor, the patio, everything was really lovely. Second (and most important), the FOOD! We knew it would probably be good, but it really blew us away. We each had a drink - he had the Mucho Mucho Amor and I had the House Xica Margarita. Both were great and very smooth. The food itself was very tasty and presented well! We got the corn ribs to start - I think I complimented three different people on how delicious the sauce on top is. He got the short rib tacos and I got the carnitas. The meat for both was so ridiculously tender and flavorful. The refried beans cooked in duck fat (I think) were also super rich and I wish I had more of them!! The tortillas that came with my carnitas were also super tasty. At several points during our meal, my boyfriend said we would definitely come back here and I agreed. We were too stuffed for dessert but the menu looked pretty good! As for the service, I read some comments that were less than pleased with it but I have to disagree. Alex was our server Saturday night and we felt very well taken care of! He was constantly coming by and checking on us and making sure we were good to go, even with multiple tables on his own and helping with a large group next to us. Can't wait to go again and try more on the menu!!
