This was a perfect spot for a pre-theater lunch, starting with fried calamari, moving on to a delicious pizza, finishing with their amazing chocolate mousse. Service was friendly and crisp, the dining room relatively low on noise, all in all, a lovely experience.
We've been going to Maz Mescal for over 12 years and followed them from their old location on 86th street to the new location. We have introduced many people to the restaurant over the years, including the German Ambassador to the USA and his family. The owner recognizes us when we walk in. My only complaint is that we have never been offered even 1 margarita for being loyal customers. It sure would be nice to be "thanked" for the many years we have been regular customers. A simple gesture like that would cost pennies and go a very long way. We will, however, continue to go to Maz Mescal for Mexican Dinners because we really enjoy the food.
