Cutter & Squidge Ratings and Reviews
Took my mum for her Birthday for the Genies Cave afternoon Tea! It was brilliant! All the staff were so friendly, polite and overall service was brilliant. I couldn't recommend it more. The downstairs decor is fantastic (tacky) but fantastic if you're in to that theme. Afternoon Tea itself was one of the best I have ever had.. all the cakes were delicious. Would 100% recommend and would 100% go again! Topped it off having the disney song soundtracks in the back ground.
Went for the Aladdin themed afternoon tea in the Genie's cave - absolutely loved it! Was with friends catching up and really enjoyed the whole experience - the cave looked amazing and the food was yummy, there was just the right amount too, I've been to afternoon teas where I've been overwhelmed with the food but it was just right here. The cakes upstairs also looked amazing, I would definitely go back just for coffee and cake if I was in the area. Would highly recommend a visit!
Absolutely amazing Genie's Afternoon tea. Every bite was delicious and there was a great selection of teas. Genie's Afternoon Tea is only on for a limited time so can't wait to see what they come up with next! Would definitely call in again upstairs, too as the cakes looked delicious.
We attended the Aladdin themed afternoon tea, the service was very good and staff were very friendly. The décor was amazing, the way they decorated the room was very authentic and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. We all had a great time and I would definitely recommend this place as the tea selection was good and the food was delicious. They also have a wide variety of baked goods especially the amazing cakes which you can order for take away.
We attended the Genie in a cave afternoon tea for my daughters 21st birthday . The wow factor was provided and she loved the atmosphere . I was a bit disappointed as I had sent an e-mail a few weeks before and the team did not respond, although they had responded to my first email. As my daughter has coelic disease she has to have a gluten free diet. Whilst they say that they have gluten free options they do not offer a gluten free afternoon tea. They told me they have a wheat free option and after examining it I decided that their would probably not be much gluten . Unfortunately the wheat free selection was quite poor. The savory biscuit tasted of baking powder or bicarb, some of the cakes were dry , the macaroon just crumbled . I stressed in my email that it was a special occasion and to be honest it would not have been hard to get a bit of gluten free/ wheat free pastry and make a mini quiche or feta pastry as I had in my menu. I told the waitress of my disappointment who told the manager. I expected the manager to come and see me but they did not come. When I went to pay I was charged full price which I did not think was fair as I had also paid extra for the wheat free menu. It was only when I asked to see the manager that money was deducted. Their was only one waitress downstairs and she seemed run off her feet. We waited ages for our tea and were not offered a refill. On the whole it was a lovely place, I would not go if you have a food allergy. We had to go and get my daughter food after which I did not expect so it really did not live up to my expectations for her.
Myself and three friends had the Genie’s Cave afternoon tea. The food was fabulous and the setting was beautiful. The staff have gone to great effort to make sure the theme has been fully embraced across the board. The cakes on display in the shop looked beautiful. I would absolutely recommend for coffee and cake or afternoon tea! Great value for money.
The afternoon tea was amazing staff were friendly the selection was really good and they catered well for dietary needs and a fussy 4 year old only down side when you book they don't tell you there's a £5 surcharge for the gluten free option ! But othe then that we can't wait to go back :-)
Went here for the genies afternoon tea as a birthday treat, the atmosphere was great and everything was well themed. The staff were really friendly and food amazing. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and would be very keen to come back again for another afternoon tea. ☺
I took my two teenage boys here and overall the experience was lovely! The staff were well mannered and very welcoming, they also didn’t mind taking photos of us as a group, which is great! Can’t wait to come back and try some more of their signature biskies!
I came to the Genie's Cave afternoon tea with my mum (for a super belated Mother's Day treat!) which was absolutely amazing! We had a fab time, were well looked after by the lovely staff there and the food was beautifully presented. The flavours were all so different but went well together, and we loved everything (especially the cheese bites, so light and fluffy!)
My daughter and I visited on Monday for the Aladdin afternoon tea as a little treat to ourselves, she is getting married in 6 weeks and we just wanted some special time together before the big day. Totally loved it, very small space but the decoration was amazing and made us feel very special. The food was very well themed and amazing quality. The best afternoon tea I have had so far. Thank you
I went to the Genie's tea for my fiancee's birthday and it was incredible. The atmosphere was spot on, underground in a nicely decked out cave with coins and jewels in the wall. The starter was so tasty and fresh despite being two types of meringue. The main event was full of rich treats that left us feeling full and satisfied.
You can go for unlimited but really you don't need it after having a glass of bubbly, tea, meringue, sandwiches, quiche, cheesy bits, pinwheels, cookies, tarts, macarons and cake! Such incredible value as well given all the thought and effort that's gone into it and the central Soho location.
Visited with my daughters for the Genie Cave afternoon tea as they are Disney fans and we weren’t disappointed. The themed treasure filled decor, delicious selection of savoury and sweet treats included their renowned ‘biskies’ topped with 24 carat gold, and friendly and helpful staff meant we enjoyed our experience!
