Opening Angelo Elia Pizza, Wine Bar and Tapas - Oakland Park was a passion of Chef Angelo Elia for more than eight years. While Casa D'Angelo has been a place for him to showcase his depth of Italian technique, he wanted to create a restaurant that felt more like the simple Italy he visits year after year where ingredients are at the forefront. A place where you could come and sit and pick at food as you want with friends. But it didn't come that easy. Like all things that are simple, careful thought and research has gone into the menu and the guarded sources of our premium ingredients. In the end, D’Angelo is all about friends and a good bottle of wine enjoyed in a contemporary, easy dining atmosphere.

After not being there since prior to the coronavirus lockdown we were very please to find nothing has changed except for safety measures which have been put into place. The best part of the experience was that the food was as excellent as always. I suppose we have to accredit this to the fact that restaurants kept their kitchens open for pickup and delivery and so thereby maintaining the usual staff.
It was also nice to see that they had a fair amount of business considering all the negatives we have all been through.
We are definitely looking forward to going back soon.

As a regular to Angelos and Casa d’angelo I expected good service and great food. Alas, there was neither tonight. I have never had a martini with crushed ice- sent it back and along came another with crushed ice. The margarita my guest ordered left an after taste that was not pleasant. As it was oyster night I asked the server the size of the oysters and was told big. I requested that they give me the smaller of the bunch. There was no comprehension of my request, so I gave up. The fluerettes were brought in a bowl with no sauce. The salmon that was ordered was dry and overcooked- inedible. The ravioli was another order that the pasta was dry and horrible. My guest ate one and left the rest. I ordered the branzino, which I have had before and enjoyed. Tonight the plate arrived with overcooked vegetables, soggy and heapedvon the plate, the potatoes were overcooked and the fish was soggy. A unpalatable meal that I returned. The presentation was that of a diner-a conclomoration of vegetables and potatoes piled on the plate The service was much below par and it took quite sometime to receive our meals. Upon leaving I spoke to the manager, who said he would speak to his team. He looked disheveled and not professional.
I doubt I will return after being a customer since opening.
Maybe the owners should check on the facility. .

Fresh ingredients, friendly and responsive service and a bright, contemporary ambience make Angel Elia a great choice for Neopolitan-style pizza and savory Italian specialties.

Always great food! We've been regulars since it opened. Supported it though take-out over the past couple of months. Now proud to bring my family for our first time out since "lock down". Cheers to Angelo and staff.

We visited our trusted and favorite neighborhood place, Angelo Elia Pizza as our first meal out after restaurants were able to able open for dine-in service and were delighted with the great experience! Everything was clean, sanitized, with tables well spaced apart. They have two covered outdoor patios as well as indoor dining available, which was wonderful! Their processes and well trained, mask-clad friendly staff made us feel very comfortable and we had a safe, delicious, and enjoyable meal. I ordered the deliciously fresh shrimp and scallops with julienne vegetables special while my husband enjoyed the delicate branzino piccata. We also appreciated the Monday night wine special of 50% off bottles over $50 and had Gaja Promis, a velvety accompaniment to our meal. Gio is such an amazing chef and Zsuzsanna is the best waitress-she always takes such good care of us! In fact, all of the staff made us feel so welcome! We will be back next week and bring some friends to this local gem! Make sure you get a reservation and they will take care of the rest!

I am a lover of eggplant rollatini and always though that the preparation here was outstanding. Imagine my disappointment when it arrived and was noting like I had before. Why do restaurants do these things. If you serve a dish in. A certain way for years and it is a winner why change it. People trying too hard to be creative and miss the point the the customer is truly always right. My credit card; my pleasure.

Not up to par. Restaurant was very understaffed and seemingly overwhelmed. Wait time was significant for ordering. We did, however, appreciate the complimentary dessert.

This was our first time at Angelos. It is an attractive respectful five with indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to dine inside. Our wait person was pleasant and attentive. He answered our questions about the menu.

There were three of us. We ordered two orders of the eggplant parmigiana, a Caesar salad and the spaghetti with veal meatballs. We had a bottle of Chianti’s and we shared the chocolate lava cake. It was all delicious. Portions are nice sized and prices are reasonable.

We will definitely return.

Had an unfortunate experience we were seated right away, waitress took dinner order couple at next table were eating starters, bus boy arrives with our order and the diner at the next table physically made the bus boy turn around and told him it was theirs, I tried to explain that the pizza had pears and figs to which he replied he goes there all the time and he knows what he ordered the bus boy left the dinners with them( at customers insistence) nit to many minutes go by when the same crust calls his waiter over and said he has the wrong order surprise surprise he tried to give my husband the pizza which he had already bitten into we said no way our waiter then came over and apologized said it was the bus boy’s fault I told her this was not so, anyway the other diners left and we got our order, no harm done except that when our waiter came back fir dessert order Intold her what had happened she said she would tell a Manager as there was a $ value attached to the mistake as long as the bus boy did not lose out I am happy

My friends and I have dined here many times and have always loved our food. Tonight was a major disappointment. We were a party of Three and found that none of our food met the usual standards

Hopefully our next visit will see a return to our expectations.

While tables are close together, I didn’t feel too close to those near us or able to clearly hear conversations. Our server was new(ish) and worked hard to do his best. My biggest complaint and this can be said of many, far too many servers to count, is overuse of the word “guys”. We are a heterosexual couple and much prefer the term “folks”, I.e.- How are you folks this evening? We recently had a server say ‘Hello my friends, how are you this evening?’ Lovely opening! You guys is inserted everywhere! Just checking in with you guys, how is the food? Can I get you guys anything else?
It’s been a gripe of mine for some time, just wish it would change...

All in all, nice evening. Delisious sea bass and my husband’s rigatoni with bolognese was outstanding!
