Located in Brompton Cross between Chelsea and South Kensington, it is an ideal spot for lunch after shopping in nearby Knightsbridge or King's Road. The Natural History Museum, Science Museum, V&A, Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall and Royal Court are also just around the corner.
Sunday: 12pm - 10:30pm
Very much enjoyed the venue, service and location. Food was a bit heavier than I expected. Menu could be more modern and update. Wonderful decor.
First time I had dined at the restaurant and it was a very nice experience
A SPECIAL PLACE - DELICIOUS FOOD - AND A GREAT EXPERIENCE LUNCHING THERE
I felt the service and the food were very good indeed but the wine list was rediculously overpriced.
Excellent service and the food was incredible. I enjoyed the tuna tartare followed by the tuna steak. My husband loved his wild boar ragu, as well as the sashimi starter. Great ambiance.
I booked an early evening, mid-week table at Daphne's as a birthday treat for one of my sisters and all four of us sisters enjoyed a fabulous pre-theatre dinner at this old-style Italian restaurant that just oozes charm and sophistication.
We took advantage of the early meal-deal 2 course menu and enjoyed authentic Italian cooking and delicious desserts - we chose an excellent bottle of Chianti and my "birthday" sister had one of the "driver" cocktails, which she found delicious!
They also presented my "birthday" sister with a lovely "Happy Birthday" dessert platter - thank-you!
Great ambience and food.
I have been to Daphne’s many times, and it can be a bit up and down. But it is never disappointing. My most recent visit- a weekday lunch - was outstanding. The ambience is always good, and the bar is lovely. The three course fixed price lunch menu makes for outstanding value. This might be the only place on the street that hasn’t changed tenants in 20 years, and I hope it remains just as it is. Lovely place for very good Italian food, highly recommended on all accounts.
We ordered principally linguine with crab/ lobster and within 5 minutes of ordering, our food arrived, which set the tone for the rest of the hour and 20 minutes we had our table for. We felt rushed and were asked to give our table back after the hour and 30minutes were up as the next party were waiting and complaining as if it was our fault. I was never informed of the time frame for the table, normally it is 2 hours which is adequate for a three course meal and a bottle of wine, but not ideal, however this time frame left us feeling harassed and as if we were chased from our table. Not my experience of the restaurant previously and don’t need to go back again - such a shame, it used to be a nice treat.
Excellent food service could have been better but the main problem is the incredibly high noise level. Hard surfaces and full tables make for noise that prevents reasonable dialogue
Rather old-fashioned in the nicest way, this is a charming restaurant, with consistently good, if not ambitious, cooking. Service tries very hard.
Perfect venue for Birthday Celebrations for my daughter and I. We are both foodies and Daphne's never fails to deliver. Our waiter was brilliant, humorous and made great suggestions. Daphne's has remained a firm favourite over the years.
We loved this restaurant. The food was great and the service excellent. The restaurant is also very pretty - sort of a throwback to pre modern.
We will go back before we go back to the states.
Delicious food and great vibe .. will certainly be back
Sat next to Hugh Grant at the bar. Speaks volumes.
Lovely, cosy, remarkably down to earth place with good service and yummi food at reasonable prices. Home made tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms super tasty, ad was my friends tuna and avocado tartare.
Fantastic food and outstanding service. We loved having dinner at Daphne's!
Daphne's is a reliable dining experience. the food was good. We had the small prawns
starter which was delicious. The Dover Sole was perfectly prepared. The polenta cake and sorbet
desserts were also quite good. Excellent service. My only criticism is that we were initially seated next to
a group of 4 foreign people who were literally shouting across the table to each other which was extremely annoying. We were moved to the back room which was very quiet.
Always love Daphne’s. My only complaint was that eating in the back, on a sunny afternoon was a bit stuffy and hot. The food and service, however, was excellent!
Great service, lovely food. Will definitely be back.
Delicious and lovely atmosphere
The food was delicious!
Food was great, atmosphere amazing...will definitely be back!
I recently had an excellent lunch at Daphne's. The menu is quite varied and everything I had was excellent. (The portions are very ample, so be prepared for plenty of food.) Service is gracious, although it could be a bit tighter, and the ambience is extremely pleasant and elegant/casual. I highly recommend it and will certainly return/
This lovely restaurant never disappoints
Loved it. Lovely food, service and ambience. Not the cheapest but it’s worth it for a treat.
Beautiful restaurant, everything was lovely! I only have one issue. The Focaccia was not Focaccia, it was more like a toasted Sourdough. I should have said something at the time.
Excellent lunch at Daphne's. Myself and my colleague had the set two course lunch. The tuna and the caprese salad were great followed by the sea bass and the pork fillet. Staff were really nice and attentive and the back room/conservatory area was lovely (also, air conditioned!)
Would 100% go again.
Unbearable noise made an intimate conversation impossible - large table with very noisy patrons and high pitched laugh of women having a third glass of Chablis just kills a good meal. To be avoided on a date or quiet dinner with a conversation. You will have to revert to your Iphone to communicate.
Lovely on all accounts . Food and wine and service great . The restaurant is pretty and has a good vibe . Not stuffy . Great for well behaved children or romantic dates .
4 out of 5 ordered the truffle pasta (£25 for small & £50 for full portion). We waited at least an hour for it only to be disappointed because it was tasteless & bland. Only the smell of truffle was strong, but the taste just was not there. Definitely not recommended
Had a wonderful time at our anniversary dinner. It had a great atmosphere for a Monday night. A mix of local diners, and good spirited business people. Food was delicious, and we received a colletion of chocolates with a 'happy anniversary' message. A great personal touch.
Great food as always especially with the truffle special - one of my top 5 restaurants in London.
Amazing Sunday afternoon
Had a great Indian meal with superb tastes and friendly service. Worth the trip going there!
Great food and atmosphere
Great local high end Italian. Little not to like for good authentic Italian dining
Always love it, but this time the noise was beyond being able to talk across the tables, so everyone shouted.
