One of our favourite restaurants. Great seasonal menu. One of the best Italian restaurants in london. The pasta was great and so was the sole. Friendly service.
Excellent food and service!!!! 5 stars!!
The crowd was good, but there were a few loud ones.
I would recommend
Excellent as always - Love the Gamberoni with chilli and garlic.
Made for a special birthday lunch, the atmosphere was buzzy with families and friends groups, the food was faultless and delicious and the service spot on throughout. Memorable
I must confess to being pretty disappointed with Daphne’s on my last visit. It is usually my favourite Italian lunch place in London, but last weekend was a disappointment. Can’t fault the staff but where was the flavour in the food?! Prawn and avocado salad tasted like a prawn and avocado salad with 90% of the usual taste removed. And the ravioli? So dry it was a struggle to finish. Worst of all, the cheese board. I like strong cheese but one of the three should have only been used for cooking. A huge inedible chunk of pure pain. Seriously thinking of going elsewhere.
Always delightful
Lovely food, good range of options and helpful knowledgeable staff
Great evening. The food, the ambiance, and the attitude of the team are always superb.
As always, excellent food and excellent friendly and attentive service with a great ambience
We had a lovely lunch at Daphne's and I would definitely return. The restaurant itself is very attractive and comfortable. The staff were lovely and welcoming, while not rushing us at all. The food was really delicious too. Just a shame I didn't have room for a desert. I'd go out of my way to go their again. Thanks Daphne's.
Amazing service and delicious food!
Very good, same as it every was, excellent. Service is brisk, not leisurely
Daphne’s continues to delight. Even on one of their busiest days of the years all was impeccable.
Thank you
Traditional Italian restaurant with very good ambiance.
A little bit too noisy!
Always the same.
always a good lunch venue
Faultless service only blip was getting our dishes wrong way round. Food was superb. Really great. Would definitely come again!
First time but definitely not the last! Food was fantastic and service warm and efficient. What a gem!
Daphne’s at one time was a favourite until I moved away from the area
So returning after a 5 year break I found that nothing much, but the prices, had changed
The front part of the restaurant where we dined is still intimate and relaxed
The service is good, the food without being amazing is good except for the zucchini Frito which are the best in London
This is a restaurant for special occasions and I hope they will be welcoming me back for many more years
Very underrated, but great atmosphere and delicious food. One of my faves.
The meet and great at reception was very welcoming, table service was fantastic, food was amazing, all round 10 out of 10 from us.
Fantastic place, excellent food and service, lovely cosy romantic restaurant, we will defiantly come back
Great Italian.
This was my second time at Daphne's, the other being over 10 years ago. This time was just as good as the first, food is incredible, wine choice exceptional and staff could not have done more.
We went in early before a show, so sat down at 5:30 and left at about 7:15. It was obviously quiet but the attention to detail was still spot on.
It's not the cheapest place on earth, but the small touches are worth it, for example, we ordered a starter to share, which is normally 3 scallops, and as they knew we were sharing, they gave us 4 instead - which was nice!
Well worth a visit, but don't go if you're on a budget
Crisp white table cloths and napkins with waiters in black over-aprons sets the tone for this elegant dining. There is almost an air of a private Club. It is not cheap but it delivers in spades.
Always a fantastic experience. Well looked after, good atmosphere and good food.
A bit of a shambles on the Open Table menu. Had to ask for it despite booking with this option. Having chosen from the Open Table set menu they provided the waiter returned to say that given is the wrong menu and so we had to choose again from a lunch set menu...
As always top and very nice food, the cod is amazing
A disappointing experience in every way. We got seated in a lovely corner table, only to be told a few minutes later that we'd been seated at the wrong table and someone with a similar last name to ours was to be seated there. We were then moved to a small table near the kitchen door, not ideal with a busy kitchen.
The service started out okay but waned as the night progressed with the last person we interacted with that cleared the table not giving so much as fleeting eye contact, let alone a spoken word. He had an air of indignance which made me feel uncomfortable and questioning all of the positive reviews I'd read before making the booking.
To add insult to an already ailing injury, both of our meals arrived lukewarm. My side of artichokes and tomato was well seasoned and the flavours delicately balanced, however the Dover sole was under seasoned and as aforementioned, borderline cold.
Utterly underwhelming and will not be returning.
The service, the food, and the atmosphere were all outstanding. Can't wait to visit again.
Excellent service from the lovely team on the door/cloaks all the way through to the end of the meal; unfailing courtesy and attention ...and delicious food & wines
Everything is great but it is always vert hot inside- at least the front area. So dress up light.rest is all great
always a fantastic experience. look forward to many more meals in 2018 !
Daphne’s is the best Italian restaurant in London bar none - a pedigree since 1964 and deservedly so - molto bene!
Lovely food and service
I love Daphne's. I live in Australia now but I always come back to Daphne's when I'm back in London.
Lovely evening as always. Very cosy. Well looked after by the attentive staff. Dover sole was fabulous.
Service faultless. Quick, attentive for duration of visit. Food was good. Nothing amazing at that price. But good busy ambience.
one of my favourite restaurants. always good food, friendly staff and a good atmosphere.
On arrival, the hostess was busy talking with another host. Both saw us standing by the door but chose to ignore us. My guests (first time visitors) were not impressed. My wife and I have dined at Daphne's for nearly 15 years and felt embarrassed that our reception was as cold as the weather outside! Fortunately the food made up for this. The Tagliatelle with Truffle was divine! Even our friends (who rarely dine at Italian restaurants because they prefer home-cooking - they're Italian) were left inspired! Bravo! The wait staff were attentive but seemed to be absent when we needed them most (rather surprising for a Saturday night.) We were seated at the back room near the fire. The atmosphere was cosy and merry. Overall food and wine were commendable and despite the "spatial un-awareness" at the front of the house, Daphne's remains one of our favourite restaurants in London.
Food is excellent but service a bit slow due to the tables being very near the one to the other.
Very noisy difficult to talk.
Good place to visit.
