The food made my mother and I sick all night. The food at Daphnes was all we ate all day. My mother had an old fillet of cod - the sauce was very acidic and old. I had a veal ragu pasta and I was sick at night, the sauce must have been old.
Tables are so close to each other. So sometimes it is hard to hear each other in the same table. This time and first time I saw kids. They were little bit noisy too. But in general the crowd is always good. Food is superb. Will continue to visit .
We are regulars at
Very nice food but extremely noisy place Not recommended if you want to talk with friends
Good food, nice ambience would happily go back
My husbands birthday, we took our two young boys too.
Excellent service, very smiley and gracious with the children, even when they were excitable !
We brought a cake and they put candles on it and did a bespoke birthday plate to serve it on.
They brought colouring out for the kids and the food was quick which is always appreciated with children.
My husband and I have always liked Daphne’s but tonight I truly appreciated their family friendly service.
Both my boys had their favourite Spaghetti Vongole and said it was delicious! (i know, how sophisticated ...)
I had a succulent milanese and husband crab linguine which he liked too. Burrata and Proscuitto to start.. perfection.
Exceptional food and service. We were looking for a place that
Was somewhat casual and a spot for locals and we found Daphne’s. We enjoyed it so much we went two nights in a row and tried different things.
Very nice restaurant. The food and the service are amazing. I strongly recommend
The food and service are always very good. For a restaurant of this quality and in this area, the prices are reasonable.
Amazing food and experience. Forgot how much we love Daphne’s
A lovely restaurant, with a great atmosphere. We arrived early on a Saturday evening and thought we’d be turned away but to our surprise , we were able to have our reservation. We were seated at the bar in this busy restaurant, it was a relaxed vibe and the service was excellent. All the staff were super helpful . The food itself was divine, real quality Italian. And reasonably priced, we also liked the fact that you could order a small or large portion.
Overall, a wonderful dining experience, will definitely go back. And highly recommended.
Great staple Italian cuisine. Nice setting and good location. Only small drawback: none of the staff spoke Italian (at least on our visit) so this did make the restaurant feel slightly less authentic.
We have been going to Daphne's for many years. I would recommend that the management consider changing the menu. A new selection of dishes would be very nice.
Excellent service, great portions
Lovely food apart from the Wild Boar Ragu which looked very unappetising but tasted ok.
One of my absolute favourite restaurants in London for the past 15 years.
Classic contemporary fresh Italian that is authentic, elegant, reliable, friendly, efficient, relaxed - all the good things a restaurant should be.
Favourite starter is the grilled squid followed by the main of cod with fregola, crab and zucchine.
Kudos to the management team who keep the standards high.
Local and like it very much. Good always good. Service can be a little snappy but when mention they were accompanied. I have foe to Daphne’s for many years and would recommend.
Amazing food and great service. Very comfortable and sophisticated ambience. Loved it
For us, it’s the best Italian restaurant in London - food is divine, decoration of the dining place is quite festive and cozy, staff are very helpful and professional. Will definitely be back when next time in London.
Food, decor and service were all impeccable. We added 2 to our party within an hour of the reservation and they were very accommodating. Place had a great buzz to it and definitely one of my new favorites in London. Highly recommend!
Best Italian in london. Always such a joy to go
Daphne’s is a sentimental favorite of our family. We always book our first dinner in London at Daphne’s to kick our holiday off on a high note. The fish and lamb dishes are delicious and the service is wonderful.
The girl who served our table was excellent! I have not met a waitress so attentive and diligent for a long time. All my family were impressed by the way she served us - totally hard working and good attitude. She is rare and hope you will look after her.
A good experience. Food isn’t authentic.
Fantastic food, atmosphere and service
I chose this restaurant for my birthday and brought my family for their first time as they’d never been before. Very pleased. One guest was Italian and thoroughly enjoyed the food which was beautifully made as usual. Also since it was December and quite popular we had to book at 6:30pm, earlier than I would otherwise do, I was held up at work, making me a tad late so I was briefly concerned about being pressured for only having the table for two hours. Yet we weren’t rushed at all and could enjoy ourselves with excellent service. The decor was wonderful too and so we had a rather lovely time. All in all, I would highly recommend this place for a special occasion! More wine choice under £200 would be welcome to encourage more frequent visits!
Very hard to get service this time. Salmon didn’t smell very fresh and then soup to replace was not terribly warm
We all loved it, from the beautifully decorated entrance and warm welcome to the friendly and attentive service and a fantastic meal. Each course was superb and we would love to go back.
The food was delicious. But the person who can and took the order wasn’t so polite .Otherwise all the other staff was polite and helpful.Another thing was the people next to us they were doing so much noise like no one else was there which was not nice.
There is something rare in a place like Daphne's: a combination of elegance, but without being pretentious. It feels comfy and familiar and yet different. Add in great food and wine and you have a recipe for success. I always enjoy visiting and this last occasion was no less brilliant.
Excellent! It was a good time to go as it was quiet and so there was not too much noise. The only slight issue was that one starter arrived well before the second one necessitating a wait to get started - unfortunate as the restaurant was still quiet at that point!
We loved everything about it, can’t wait to return.
We’re real foodies, but also appreciate ambience and food that’s not all about FOAM
One of my favourite places, always great food and atmosphere. I love sitting in the conservatory it’s so cosy !
Really lovely place for weekend lunch, particularly around the holidays. Quite a lot of children/families, but all generally well behaved.
Great food and service but very very loud, with tables far too close together. For the price, unacceptable atmosphere. Felt like eating in a train station
Great food and good for a catch up with friends - will return
Stunning anniversary dinner, amazing food - very personal service and a fantastic atmosphere.
We don’t usually go for a full three courses, but it was a chill November night and opted for the minestrone which was delicious.
Between us we had the veal Ragu and the spaghetti with lobster. We finished off with a fantastic clementine cheesecake.
Our first visit to Daphne’s in a while and it was just as we remember it - who can resist that extra side of Zucchini Frites (the best in the world, just don’t tell their cousins at the Ivy)
My only slight criticism would be that the pace of the meal was a bit too fast, but it was understandable as we were on an early sitting and their were queues out of the door with people waiting for walk ins, however it didn’t ruin our evening at all.
A favourite every time we are in London.
Amazing Italian food in a very chic environment! Their bar is excellent for a quick lunch but their patio is fantastic!
Visit to London with my son.
