The staff seemed unorganized and couldn’t handle the crowd and we got our meals before getting our drinks. Food was underwhelming, their instagram made it look great! It wasn’t terrible though and it seemed very popular but won’t be going back
Had a very nice time at the resturant, good food and service
Great place for brunch with friends or a nice meal out with your significant other. Definitely recommend making a reservation (hence opentable) because the walk-in waitlist is deep. Definitely drop in and grab a bite
We had a reservation for 12pm but didn’t get seated until 12:30 even though lots of tables were free.
It was difficult to totally assess David's as we went at 5pm because we had a show to see. We were the only customers. So I can't say how loud it gets when full. Of the 5 dishes ordered, only 1 was very good, the split pork chop. The salads were adequate. The onion soup tasted too much like brandy and the cheese on top was meh. The risotto was mostly left behind. I had a mixed drink which I watched our waiter try to mix while someone else his boss?) had to correct him through the whole process. It was supposed to be a Sangria, which implies fruit soaked in wine. This was just a flavored mixed drink instead. Overall I can see David's getting a substantial late night crowd as the music is good, the vibes are probably good when full and all in all, it's a pretty good "bar with food" if you're not picky about your food.
The ambiance and price level is really good but I’ll be not coming back due to the manager. The rest of the people working here were great but the manager took the entire place down, so incredible rude I’ve never seen anything like it.
My all time favorite go to hamburger in the city!
The food overall is wonderful, I ordered the salmon kale salad, it was a little bit salty, everything else tasted good here!
Great service and even better food! Highly recommend
Catching up with a friend. Food was delicious and server was attentive though it was busy and we were in a corner that was toughish to get to
Spent three hours there because they forgot our meals... food was good as always, but when your server literally forgets you that’s a bit of a problem...
I love David's Cafe! I come here for brunch often and was excited to share it with my friends for my birthday. The only disappointing part of my visit was that when we arrived for our 8pm reservation there was not a table available. A group of drunk Santas (it was Santacon) had come in and were camping out. Due to this, we did not get seated until 8:35 pm. I understand that this may have been beyond their control but in the future I would hope that they would not allow people to sit down if they had a reservation coming in. Again, this is an anomaly for the experience I have had at David's Cafe. The service is always impeccable and the food beyond delicious.
David's cafe is warm and inviting. the service is great. the food is really good. overall, excellent!
Everything is just okay: the food, the service, the ambiance, the noise level. Uninspiring menu. Our third time. It will be awhile before we return.
I am a regular of this place. The food is always good, especially the burger! Supreme! Staff are friendly. It's a very cozy place to have a weekend brunch.
I love this place, I always go and get the burger or the steak and eggs, both dishes are spectacular!
Very disappointing that their brunch menu had basically no salad selections for vegans. The only salad you could get was basic greens with no other vegetables. Would not recommend this restaurant for vegans. Also it was extremely noisy.
Super chill, got shmeated with tha bois. Booled hard
Awesome spot! Great ambiance and delicious food
Love this place! Food is excellent and chill neighborhood vibes. Props for the amazing service too!
We loved having brunch here. This was a quick weekend trip for my husband and I and we wanted to experience a local brunch and this is exactly what we got. The service was great and so was the atmosphere. My husband was nursing a hangover and they had the perfect remedy - their hangover patty! It did the trick. Highly recommend to all those wanting a low key, non fuss but perfect brunch with a very cool vibe!
Love this neighborhood spot and love that you can reserve for brunch .
Great service and food!
The place is very cute and our table was available right away at the time of our reservation. Our drinks took a long time and the food was mediocre at best. We requested sauce on the side and very well done bacon- neither happened with no apologies or attempt to redo from the waitstaff.
Nice and fluffy pancakes. Quick service. Very busy place. Reservations are a must.
David’s is my absolute favorite place to go for brunch in the city. They have the friendliest staff, best home fries (and other food), and their ambiance is exactly what I want in most of my restaurant experiences.
It was fine, but given the positive reviews I was expecting more. I would happily go there again but with adjusted expectations.
What an absolutely perfect brunch! The staff were so understanding and accommodating when I called to tell them we were going to be 15 minutes late and would need a couple of extra seats. The food and drinks were delicious and our waitress was very attentive. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for brunch in Manhattan.
Can't stop, won't stop eating at David's! Tasty food and great hospitality from Ernesto and Damien. Thank you!
Nice bustling cafe, great for casual dinners. Very generous portions. The burger was really juicy; and the mushroom risotto and the pork chop are hearty meals if you're hungry. The fish and chips is another good menu pick. Attentive service.
They put our party of 3 at a table barely big enough for 2. The food did not fit on table and we were on top of each other . We did have reservations ... then they brought out food and gave us wrong omelettes. Just an OK place with no ambiance and too crowded . Food was fine
I had a lovely brunch with my friend. Service was quick, food was delicious. The crab eggs Benedict were dynamite. Highly recommend.
This was honestly such a miss. I’ve heard such good things about thing place but the terrible service we had, coupled by how rude the bartender was ruined our meal and evening. The food is pretty good but there are too many places within a 4 block radius you can dine at, with same food quality and exceptional service. I won’t be going back.
A very casual neighborhood place with good food. Not an extensive menu but something for everyone. American with French accents.
David's has become a neighborhood classic. Always has great food especially the Burger & Croque Madame and a very nice atmosphere. Love that you can make a brunch reservation!
Great food and service!
The new Salmon dish was to die for, cooked to perfection, savory and flavorful!
Made a reservation for 3 for 11am. We arrived on time, all of us had an entree and at least 2 drinks. We had not even finished our coffee, when the waiter asked us to leave at 11.55 because their reservation is waiting outside.
David’s cafe has a terrific ambiance, wonderful food, great prices, and not overly crowded can’t recommend enough.
Great ambiance, people watching, food and service! Loved every minute of the experience. A perfect place for a relaxing summer brunch - light, sunny, fun and with great drinks on tap. The burger was outstanding, as was everything else our table ordered. The manager was sweet and beyond accommodating, even during a very busy hour. We live in the neighborhood and will definitely be back!
