Service was quite slow and there wasn't an obvious reason for that as the table beside us got plenty of attention from our server. However, the food was good and we spent a nice leisurely afternoon there.

Four of us went for dinner on Saturday night. Atmosphere was great, service really good and the food was tasty - starters were steak tartare, small chicken salad and terrine. All good. Fish for mains - all tasty but mackerel oversalted. But forgiven with the desserts - Eton messes and peach crumbles - yum!

Good value pre theatre menu, and great location. But food and drinks did not live up to expectations. My salmon was burnt and bitter, and the grapes served with cheese needed attention.
Will not eat here again.

Excellent evening. The waiter who looked after us was lovely.
I think the food was great , real comfort food, just like the tea Mum would make, maybe just a little bit better!!!

Good atmosphere for a lunch at the bar. Medium rare burger was overcooked but staff were great and didn't mind about our late arrival.

Visited here to meet a pal for drinks and dinner. Sat at the bar for drinks and got super snacks to munch on prior to dinner. The wine was tip top, the bar clean and well looked after. Great stools to sit on too. The service on arrival, at the bar and at the table was pretty faultless - just right. The menu was varied and we were both really happy with our choices (fish curry and leg of lamb). It was a pleasant change to get decent portions of food that isn't over fancy and overpriced! I would visit this place often.

Dean Street Townhouse is a great place for a pre theatre dinner, or any other occasion. Very nice bar. Excellent, genial service. Good British fare. I highly recommend their signature dish the haddock soufflé with mustard sauce. I've eaten here many times and have never been disappointed.
I prefer the more modern dining room, but many people like the Victorian room.

This is a lively, relaxed venue in the heart of Soho. We went on the a Saturday evening of the London Pride parade so the whole area was chaos and the bar adjacent to the restaurant tables packed. Noise levels were initially very high (and not conducive to a date!), but settled down as it got later and the bar became less busy. It also took a while to get a drink, even with table service. My first one was flat and slightly spilt by the time it arrived.

Food service however was smooth and efficient. All the dishes we ordered lived up to expectations - decent portion sizes, good flavours and presentation. Overall we had a fun night out and great meal. Would recommend it and return in future.

Absolutely loved our lunch at Deanstreet Townhouse. A welcoming reception who also took our shopping bags and stored them securely, together with a lovely waiter who was efficient and chatty. Our food was delicious - exactly how I remembered it which is why I chose to come here again.

All in all a lovely experience and we shall be returning without a doubt.

Lovely cakes and scones, ok sandwiches (hardly any egg on the egg sandwich, slightly stale bread on all of them). Tea was good but no top-ups. Service was a little slow.

To be honest, I have eaten at Dean Street Townhouse before and it has been fantastic. However, on this occasion, it was pretty poor. We sat on an outside table that was filthy. The waiter didn't seem to pay a whole lot of attention to us. The food was oi, nothing amazing. And there were quite a few homeless people who harassed us.

A lovely environment and wonderful eggs. But the service was a little pushy. Felt like we were being hurried up the whole time. Within a minute of sitting down we were already asked three times to make our food order. Overkill.

For us, it hit all the spots for meeting a visiting friend on a hot Saturday morning for a leisurely foody catch up. The food, choice of drinks - alcoholic and non alcoholic - were great as was the service. We also appreciated the feeling of not being moved on once the meal was finished, it added to the sense of a relaxed chilled day.

We had a pleasant evening. I had booked it for a birthday celebration but on arrival and at the table no extra fuss was made and we weren’t asked if we wanted anything extra for the birthday dinner.
Service was friendly and attentive but slow as was the food.

Portions were on the small side but food as tasty.
