Burford Brown egg
This really is a great spot for breakfast or brunch. It's a nice setting, with very good service and delicious food - I can heartily recommend the vegetarian version of a full English, particularly the hash brown - truly delicious. The down side for me was the tables which looked tatty and need either upcyling or replacing, or maybe just the addition of a table cloth; and the cold draught from the open doors, however, allowances made as this is most likely an anti Covid 19 measure. I will definitely be back, again and again.
Dean Street, doing their best to make things work in lockdown. Lovely Sunday Lunch
We sat outside and it was lovely!
Food was excellent and the service outstanding. We’ll definitely be back.
First night out since March and Deanstreet Townhouse didnt disappoint. It was a great evening full of fun food and lovely champagne. The service was outstanding as always and along with happy helpful staff you couldn't ask for anything else. Thank you
Serving staff were excellent, and very personable even with good COVID measures in place. Salmon with samphire and cucumber was delicious, as was my husband’s steak. Star of the show were the desserts though - I had the chocolate truffles and my husband had the lemon drizzle cake. Both were exceptionally good! Will be back in future definitely.
Lovely place and friendly staff.
We went for the Sunday roast and it was really well cooked and the portion for the price really good value for money. Will definitely be paying another visit!
The restaurant is great offering a straightforward menu and wonderful ambience. It was very warm in the dining room and thankfully staff adjusted the temperature. I highly recommend Dean Street Townhouse for a romantic dinner or going to a nice place with friends.
Fantastic atmosphere. Fun and attentive staff and delicious food. Perfect !
Three of us meet here regularly & have done so for several years. We have always loved the food & ambience & left good reviews. On this occasion we had a some underwhelming experience. Dean Street Townhouse always used to have a separate vegetarian menu(two of us are vegetarian) but no longer offer this & there are limited vegetarian options on the main menu. This seems strange during a time when most restaurants are offering an increased choice for both vegetarian and vegans.
Whilst we were offered the side macaroni cheese as a main course when we requested it, we were not given the usual delicious bread which we have had in the past. When we questioned our waitress about this she said (& this is almost unbelievable!)’ I didn’t bring you the bread as I thought you were having enough carbs with the macaroni cheese!!’ She realised her mistake & did apologise profusely but the damage was done! We also commented that the macaroni cheese wasn’t as nice as previously & she did say they had changed the recipe & would pass on our comments. To be fair when the bill arrived we were only charged for side portions instead of main portions & given more apologies. He rlly though we didn’t feel the whole experience matched the other time’s we have been to Dean Street Townhouse & are now not sure if we will all continue to meet there. A real shame.
Another good meal
The atmosphere is great but very noisy. Two meals were sent back twice (Trout). Manager very apologetic and meals were not charged for plus they deducted a bottle of wine so we were pleased with outcome. Starters and one main and one sweet all very good. Service was surly although after meal fiasco we paid the added 12.5%.
Excellent service on Tuesday evening when I was in - if only all restaurants had the same high standards of service. One of my friends had a slight issue with her meat being over cooked and they reacted extremely quickly (and gave us money off the bill which was so lovely). The area we were sat at (which was by window not too far away from the door) got quite cold every time the front door opened. Overall great experience and I will def return.
I really enjoyed the visit - the service and food was excellent. I hadn’t been for a while and it didn’t disappoint.
We went for afternoon tea and it was awesome! Reasonable price and lots of food and tea. The place was beautiful and service was great. Definitely would recommend
Gorgeous food and the coffee was so good ! I had to have 2!!!
Fantastic experience as always.
Service and food were very good- we had a wonderful evening
Fabulous service and great food
Excellent service, the best afternoon tea experience, as usual
Great food and drinks. Fun place, great for everyone.
Wonderful atmosphere on a Tuesday night.. incredibly friendly staff.. we had a super time
Sunday lunch is a real bargain when you consider what you get. Best Yorkshire puddings ever and enough leftovers to bring home - we had another dinner on Monday just by adding some vegetables and gravy. Would recommend it and we'll be booking again.
I have been for Sunday Lunch a number of time but this time we celebrated my son's 18th who loves a good roast. We all loved it although we failed on eating everything but loved the challenge of trying. thank you
Freindly atmosphere, and good attentive staff. Atmosphere is busy and vibrant. Tables are a bit close together and it feels a bit overly busy on the night we dined
We booked a table for two at 5pm before a theatre show. When we were first seated we were only provided an a la carte dinner menu. Having looked online, I knew a pre-theatre menu existed and had to request this later at the table. We were seated on a very small table in the middle of two other tables. There were extremely close together and very difficult to get past one another. It felt very confined. The bar area was also very close by and extremely busy and noisy.
Another disappointment was the food. We both choose the golden beetroot and stilton salad as a starter and for mains the Salmon with cucumber and samphire. Both were very bland, especially the Salmon.
We will not be returning to Dean Street Townhouse. As theatre menu's and service goes the Ham Yard Hotel far better exceeds Dean Street Townhouse.
Lovely afternoon tea and great atmosphere as always.
Will definitely be back!
Can't think of how it would be better. Great experience and food
Very noisy even when not all tables were full due to bar in the middle of restaurant. We had pre theatre menu which consisted of very nice and fresh bread, uninspiring starter salad and good chips but completely tasteless fish in very thick and greasy batter. Service was very good.
Really good meal, the food was great, excellent service and perfect for a pre show dinner, great value for money, we will be back!
Second visit to dean house, great ambiance, food, drinks and service. Not a huge menu but definitely enough of a choice. Only thing is was we were asked to vacate the table after a couple of hours, of course they need the table back for other diners but we were still continuing to buy drinks and would like to have stayed longer as it’s such a great atmosphere in there. So it’s not a complaint just a little disappointment, but love the place and would recommend to any for a lovely night.
Easy, easy 5 stars. Never disappoints. Great people, great food, great atmosphere. Just love it
Amazing tequila cocktail - PICANTE DE LA CASA - had 2 never got to the wine! Very good fish main as well. atmosphere very vibrant as always, service perhaps a little too attentive...
Great typical English food in a great location
Can't recommend highly enough. Brilliant service, brilliant food. Great atmosphere.
Our first time at the Dean Street Townhouse, and we’ll be back! Following a recommendation I brought friends here for a Sunday breakfast. We loved the warm atmosphere, comfortable and attractive furnishings, wide choice of food including non wheat options, courteous and friendly staff and great food. My granola was the best I’ve ever had, and friends all enjoyed their toasted bacon sandwich, porridge, and scrambled eggs on toast. Coffees and tea were all delicious too and nicely presented. Perfect!
One party member had a long list of severe allergies so the chef actually came to our table to discuss with him the best options for his meal. In such a busy place, at 8.30 on Saturday night, we thought that was incredibly diligent and caring. We all thought the food was very, very good but my fish pie had so much mashed potato on it that it would have been enough for two people. Overall, though, excellent - we will go back.
We were sat in the quieter part of the restaurant, which was perfect as we had our 8 yr old daughter. The decor in this section reminded me of a stylish country house. I have food intolerances and the chef came to our table to explain which menu options would be ok. Service attentive . My husband had the pre theatre set menu and I ate from the main menu . Food very good . Would return and definitely recommend .
Stunning venue in the heart of soho. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were not rushed
Great atmosphere , good food, excellent service. Pretty good value for London. Two hours was plenty for 2 courses and coffee. Menu is quite limited, but all the food was tasty, especially the starters.
