Our visit to DST was overall very good. The service was excellent. My guest who is celiac was looked after well and felt confident that this matter was taken seriously, which is of vital importance as she would be very ill if her food was contaminated in even a minute way with gluten.
We did have to send some chips back that where cold but this was dealt with quickly and efficiently.
The only thing that we could say could be improved was the noise levels. It was extremely loud around the bar. Luckily we were seated just far enough away from it to be able to hear each other.
Otherwise, well done and thank you to all the staff!

I actually gave this place a second chance after poor service from management last time. This time (a different guy) was even ruder and the food was average for the price.

We have been several times for cocktails... they serve the best ‘Old fashioned’ in London. Each time we say how much we’d like to try the food. On valentines night we booked a table and the food and service was as good as the drinks.
Nice jazz music in the background loud enough to create an atmosphere but quiet enough that you can hold a conversation. Service was great and it was a perfect way to spend valentines evening.

Thank you! My flight to Heathrow was unexpectedly delayed a few hours and I was very late getting to Dean Street for lunch -- the staff was really gracious and kind. I so appreciated that after 12 hours on a plane.

Very poor this time unfortunately. Service was below average, there is never any space at the bar when tables are not ready so we had to go somewhere else to wait. When back we were told the table want ready again.
Waiters were not looking, it took quite long to order.
Duck was very poor, they need to reconsider the dish as it is fairly tasteless and overall think twice before charging what they charge.
This was my 6th or 7th time there for dinner and I'll think twice before I go back.

Service was very poor at the start. There were empty tables but we were made to wait at the bar for 10 minutes. Then we ordered a porterhouse steak , medium, and it looked lovely when it arrived bit it was very tough meat.... really disappointing!

We were at an odd little table apparently designed for gnomes. Bench down one side so overcome by cluster cushions that it was pretty much impossible to sit on it. Ridiculous chairs and knee height table so I was lost in cushions and my guest sitting like a frog on a lilly pad. We were out of sight and clearly out of mind as the waiter took forever, my juice was completely forgotten but the breakfast when it arrived was first class. In fact we were supposed to be three and ended up as two so maybe the waiter was waiting until our final guest arrived. I am a big fan so writing this one off as a rare bad experience and will return.

I have dined here many times but unfortunately this time was disappointing. The service was very slow; we arrived at 20:15 and did not receive our starter until 20:55. After this the main course was not what we ordered so both meals had to be taken back which delayed us further. We opted not to have any desert due to the time which was now 23:30 and we live a far way from London.

The ambience was great with a table in a perfect location by a window. The food and wine were very good with a wide choice. We enjoyed The French Sauvignon Blanc which was sensibly priced. The waiters provided efficient and unobtrusive service. My guests had not been to the restaurant before and will return.

Table not ready, so was asked to go to the bar - but no room there.

Table next to us had bread brought after ordering - we got none. Constantly reminding them to top up water. Asked for another bottle of wine which they forgot about.

Food was good.

Overcharged our credit card and took ages to get it refunded.

Dean St Townhouse used to be my family’s favourite restaurant. Sadly not now.
The atmosphere is always great, however the food was a huge disappointment this time.
The fries tasted like they were covered in danger levels of salt, virtually inedible. Despite asking twice when ordering, my salad was coated in dressing (asked to leave off) and the green beans were swimming in butter (again, asked to have without).
Two of my party left before dessert, the rest of them had something. Nobody raved about it.
Such a shame.

Food was nice but the service was BAD. Seems like they take their reputation for granted and because the place is well known and in the heart of Soho they assume they don't need to try with their service. All staff were quite brusque or even rude. From the door staff to the waiting staff, everyone had a cold brusque tone and did not make an effort to help us feel welcome. They seemed rushed and wanted to get rid of us. We were also told half way through our brunch that the menu had now changed to the lunch menu and we were no longer able to order from the brunch menu. This wasn't explained to us in advance and was quite disappointing. Overall the food was nice but I certainly wouldn't rush back here.

We visited for Burns Night after receiving an email notification of the dinner/event which said the entertainment was from 18.30 onwards. It didn’t say that it was over by just after 19.30 so we were very disappointed especially as we had a German friend visiting just to experience Burns Night. The manager did his best to make it up to us and the food was great but sadly we missed out on our Burns Night experience.
